Silky Is a Keeper!

This toy is basic and versatile, is great for anyone from a beginner to a seasoned toy enthusiast, and feels fantastic. It doesn't have many bells and whistles, but its few features are solid. The flared base allows it to stand upright or to fit into a harness, and the stiff wire at the shaft's core lets you bend it to your preferred angle. I'd recommend using Silky with lube and condoms.

Use

I mostly use this toy for solo play, but it is fun with a partner as well. This toy is great for couples of any gender as the flared base makes it harness compatible and safe for anal play. The flare is hefty enough that I never had an issue with it slipping out of the harness, but I only tried it with a harness a few times. It is great for handheld use, and the base makes a decent grip. Silky is safe for both vaginal and anal play, but because elastomer is somewhat porous, I would recommend using a condom for safety, especially if sharing between partners.

Material / Texture

Silky lives up to its name with its smooth, silky feel. It does have a light plasticky smell, but this is not very noticeable and has not bothered me. It is realistically shaped and has a veined texture that when used with lube, feels fairly realistic. Both water- and silicone-based lubes are safe to use with this toy.

The elastomer material has a squishy give to it while still being firm enough for stimulation. A stiff, bendable wire runs through the shaft, which makes it very easy to bend the toy to an angle that feels good for you. It holds a given position well.

Design / Shape / Size

Silky has a realistic shape and texture with raised vein-like ridges across the entire shaft, save for the back, which is smooth with one slightly raised vertical ridge. I got a surprise when I glanced at the back of the glans and saw a little smiley face looking back at me! It's a silly, barely noticeable detail that I found rather adorable.

There are no seams, which makes the toy's texture pleasingly smooth when touched or inserted. Its realistic shape is believable, but the color is solid pink, so this may not be the one for you if you're shopping for something that looks like the real deal.

I would estimate that Silky has an insertable length of about 5.5 inches and a thickness of 1.5 inches in diameter. The head is wider than the first inch or so of the shaft, but it has a very slight flare throughout until the bottom of the shaft broadens to the same thickness as the head. This subtle change in thickness feels great.

Performance

Silky's hefty flared base is a nice feature that fits securely in a harness or works to keep the toy upright if you want to straddle it on a flat surface, such as a mattress or the shower floor. The base also provides pretty good control as a grip and makes Silky safe for anal play. I'm not sure if this is standard or not, but mine has a slight inward curve on the bottom, which gives it some suction on a flat, wet surface like in the shower or bathtub; however, it is prone to slipping due to its own weight.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is made of elastomer, which rings a 7/10 on the safety dial. Because elastomer is somewhat porous, using condoms is recommended when sharing. I use condoms with it anyway because I think it adds to the fun. This material is safe to use with silicone- or water-based lube. To clean it, simply wash with toy cleaner or soap and warm water—Silky cannot be sanitized in boiling water.

I haven't had an issue with lint or dust clinging to this toy, so it's fine to towel dry it. I store it in a fabric-lined box, but I imagine it would do fine in a dresser drawer.

Packaging

The toy comes in a pink box with a clear window on the front and is identified by text as a "vibrator," which it is not. It's actually a dildo without any vibrating parts, but you could put a vibrating ring on it if you wanted. Due to its packaging and obvious phallic appearance, it is recognizable as an adult toy. The box is pretty flimsy and is not a great storage option.

Follow-up commentary
I love Silky's appearance, curve, texture, and girth, but whether due to the material or to improper care/storage as a result of buying this toy as a careless beginner, the Elastomer "skin" has begun to break down in patches. I noticed this shortly after posting the original review and I had owned this toy for a year at that point. It's a great toy, with a nice, hefty base for balance, grip, or to fit in a harness, but due to the damaged exterior, I feel it would be safest to retire this toy. R.I.P. Silky (A.K.A. "Mr. Pinky").

This is a really nice dildo that I would consider buying again if it were less expensive; however, I would rather spend the money on a similar toy for a new experience.

  • Silky as packer...??
    • Hey, I've heard of someone using the silky as a packer before I think. Has anyone tried this?
    • This doesn't belong in the vibrator section...

But since you asked, I LOVE packing with Silky. It's basically the only cock that I know of that is comfortable for packing, functional for fucking, and made of non-disgusting material. The key is it's flexible spine, which allows it to bend and hold different positions, like a down position for packing and an up position for fucking. The downside is that the spine can break, but Silky's not that expensive to replace every once and awhile.

There are plenty of flexible silicone harness-compatible cocks (Vixskin, O2, etc) out there that can fuck but don't pack well, and there are soft cocks (Mr. Right, Mr. Limpy, or the VIP Super Soft) that can pack but don't fuck well. And there are a few other cocks with bendable spines, but they're made of disgusting materials that leech chemicals. Silky is made of high quality elastomer, which is porous and not as good as silicone, but way better than the alternatives.

In summary: pack with Silky! He's the best!
