Awesome blossom - dildo sex toy by Doc Johnson - review by SMichelle

I purchased the Awesome Blossom on a whim, though I was almost certain I'd be disappointed (boy was I wrong!). After all, I am not a texture girl, and this toy has a lot of texture. This toy now has me considering other textured toys. After all, the Awesome Blossom has proven to be near bliss.

The Awesome Blossom can be used in multiple ways. It feels amazing when inserted vaginally; the head on it just seems to hit all the right spots, and the texture provides a really fantastic sensation. You can thrust with it (carefully - you don't want to bruise yourself!), or you can just sort of wiggle it around. Either way, it feels really nice. For some added pleasure, you can use a clitoral vibrator with it, which is one of my favorite ways to use the Awesome Blossom.

You can use the Awesome Blossom anally, as the base on it will prevent the toy from somehow getting lost in your bum. I would, however, recommend using lots of lubricant if you're using Blossom anally, due to the large head, as well as the texture. Once in, however, Blossom feels amazing - and I say that as someone who's fairly new to anal play.

This toy is also fantastic for temperature play, due to the material. Soak in some hot water, put in the freezer... Have a blast with it. Just remember to be careful that it's not too hot if you are using it for temperature play.

As this toy has a base, it seems like it would be harness compatible. That said, I'd be really nervous about using this toy for that purpose, due to the the fragile and hard nature of the toy.

The Awesome Blossom is made out of food-grade Tempered Glass, which rates as a 10 on the Eden Fantasys safety scale. It is hypo-allergenic, and both latex and phthalates free. It is also non-porous, so this toy is safe to share. The material is both odor and taste free, even directly out the of the package.


Tempered glass is very sturdy, but you still need to be careful with this toy. With that said, I have dropped this toy onto the bed, and even off of the bed onto the floor, and it has survived in perfect condition.

As the Awesome Blossom is glass, it is a very hard toy. If you prefer softer materials, you probably won't like Blossom. Blossom is also highly textured, with spirals going around the shaft of it. I, personally, enjoy the spirals, despite the fact that texture is not usually my thing. Blossom's head, unlike the shaft, is completely smooth.

The Awesome Blossom has a very slight curve to its shaft, as well as a large head, which makes it great for g-spot stimulation.

This toy seems to be about average in size to me. It is 7 3/4" long, with 7 1/4" of that being insertable. Its circumference is 4 1/4" at its widest point. Keep in mind however that the very firm material will make it feel slightly larger. Still, I think that this toy would be suitable for most users.

This toy is shaped like a dildo, so it's not very discreet. That said, it's really a work of art. The green spirals of the shaft, and the beautiful yellow daisy that hides in the head of the toy, really make me want to display this.

This toys performed beyond my expectations! The head of it is perhaps my favorite feature. It's large, but angled, so it is easy to insert. With every use, it seems to hit all of the right spots - never failing to bring me to a state of absolute bliss.

Glass is extremely easy to care for. First of all, this toy is completely waterproof, so you can soak it or even boil it if you want to. It's even dishwasher compatible, it doesn't get much easier than that!

When I clean it I simply use soap and water, and sometimes a toy cleaner.

Another good thing about glass is that you can use whatever lubricant you want on it. Silicone, oil, water, pick your preference, the glass won't complain.


This toy needs to be stored carefully.. Don't just toss it in a box and be done with it! Wrap it in an old shirt, a sock, or a padded pouch to protect it before you set it in your toy box.

The Awesome Blossom's packaging leaves much to be desired. The box is simply a clear, flexible plastic box with a plastic form inside of it. The plastic form seemed to do an okay job at holding the toy, however there was still some wiggle room. I was surprised that this survived the shipping process due to the undesirable packaging.

Unfortunately no storage pouch comes with this toy, so you'll need to provide your own.
