The twist - traditional vibrator discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by Elias McLovin

The Twist is a vibrating silicone dildo from Doc Johnson's Platinum line of silicone toys. While it's not intended to be used anally, as it has no flared base and isn't o-ring compatible, I chose to get this toy because I was very interested in the design. Since I am a male, and have not used this toy on my fiance, this review is written solely from a male/anal perspective.

The Twist is made from Silicone. It is hypoallergenic and phthalate free. The product page on Doc Johnson's website says that this toy is made with Sil-A-Gel. Nowhere on the package, however, is this stated, nor does the toy have the extremely fruity smell normally associated with Sil-A-Gel. This does have a somewhat realistic feel too it. Just touching the toy, it doesn't feel too realistic. Once it's inserted though, it does have a more realistic feel than my other toys do. It is somewhat squishy and flexible, but firm enough that it won't flop around. This makes it easy to insert. It's very smooth, which coupled with being squishy, makes it feel more like rubber than a lot of other silicone toys. There is almost no odor to this toy at all.

I think the texture is great for just about anyone. It has a more realistic feel than any of my other toys. Most of my other toys are smooth, so the ribs definitely add a new level of stimulation. This does have a somewhat sticky feel to it, and it attracts dust and lint like crazy. You should probably wash it or wipe it down with a lint free wipe before each use.

The design of this toy is what attracted me to it. It is 7 inches long, with an insertable length of 6 inches. The phallic shaped head takes up the first inch, while the rest of the toy is ribbed down to the base. The circumference is 4 1/2 inches. I think the Twist is just about the perfect size. It's not too big, nor too small. If you are use to much larger toys than this, I wouldn't recommend using this as an anal toy. I found that the ribs on the shaft make it easy to keep a good grip on the toy, even with lube covered fingers. With the head having a realistic look, this toy is definitely not discreet.

To clean the Twist, you can use anti-bacterial soap and water or a toy cleaner. You can also throw it in the top rack of a dishwasher, with the bullet removed of course, boil it, or put it in a 10% bleach solution. Since it's silicone, you should only use oil or water-based lubes. If you still want to use silicone based lubes, do a small spot check first, to see if there's any reaction. You can use the package to store it, a ziploc bag, or a pouch.
