Favorite Vibrator So Far!

Overall I find this to be an excellent vibrator. It has plenty of power and a perfect ergonomic design, and it is easy to clean and easy to use. Most of all, it feels fantastic and is super affordable!

Use

This has been the one vibrator I've owned that I *had* to replace when I lost the first one (my dog decided it was a chew toy, definitely NOT a recommended use). While this particular vibrator is designed for G-spot stimulation, I also find it to be excellent for clitoral use. Overall it is fairly quiet and easy to use. I don't see why it wouldn't be perfect for beginners or advanced users.

Material / Texture

When you first open the package there is a definite plastic smell to the toy; this was concerning to me as it is labeled as PVC. Some of the other reviews and information on this site list this as a "Jelly" product, though my packaging clearly stated that it was made of PVC and phthalate free. This is bothersome because a true PVC product is much more body safe than one made of any type of jelly material. The smell dissipates with washing and does go away over time. It is a fairly firm material, with only a little give right at the head. There is no taste that I can detect, and it is smooth, with very minimal seaming. I do not share this toy outside a fluid-bound relationship, and with the uncertainty of material, I wouldn't do so without a condom. If there is any concern about the material, then a condom is recommended and is easy to use with this particular toy.

Design / Shape / Size

This is, in my opinion, a very pretty toy. It is fanciful and colorful, as is the rest of the Lucid Dream series. It is not, however, discreet. The size is perfect for me, and I feel it would be for most people. The curve at the end is designed for g-spot stimulation, and does a good job, but it also makes for a very ergonomic clitoral stimulator. I find that rubbing the head around my vulva and holding on my clit is very pleasurable. As for insertion, this is not an ideal toy for heavy thrusting. I find that once inserted, you have to be gentle to keep the right angle; a nice slow stroke is all you really need to help stimulate your g-spot.

Functions / Performance / Controls

While this is a pretty basic vibrator, from a functional standpoint, it gets everything right. The motor is located in the head of the toy, which makes it perfect for clitoral and g-spot stimulation; you can get all the vibrations directly where you need them. On the top setting it is a pretty powerful toy. The vibrations are deep enough to really feel it, without being overwhelming. It is waterproof, though I have only used it in the shower and not fully submerged; this also makes it easier to clean properly. Overall it is fairly quiet for its size, though I find that the longer it runs it begins to get a bit louder. I cannot hear it through a closed door. The controls are at the base of the toy, and the vibration level can be increased my turning a dial. There is no instant off switch, but the controls are easy and work. It runs on two AA batteries and does last a reasonable amount of time on just those.

Care and Maintenance

With care and maintenance, I come to another problem: the mystery of the material. I choose to store this toy away from my silicone toys just to be safe, though it has been accidentally left with them for some time and hasn't had any problems. I only use water based lubricants at this point in time and have not had any issues with this toy and any of the lubes I've tried. Cleaning is fairly easy, though true sterilization is not possible with this design or material. I like to use antibacterial soap and hot water; since it is waterproof the whole thing can be scrubbed and rinsed without worry.

Packaging

The toy comes in a clear plastic box with a clear plastic insert. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. It is easy to remove and could be used to store the toy, should you desire.

Experience

This is my go-to vibrator for personal use, and has been for years. However, another great use I found is during anal play with a partner. I find that using this vibrator vaginally while being anally penetrated by a partner is great fun for both of us. This allows me clitoral and g-spot stimulation, and he can feel the vibrations as well when it is inserted. I have had fantastic orgasms this way. The toy is long enough that it makes stimulation easy even in a doggy style position, where I often have a harder time stimulating myself. For this reason it is also a great toy for couples.

You did a really wonderful job for a first review, ScarlettSeraph! I'm still a little bit curious about how the material feels---does it squish in your hand if you squeeze it? Does the neck bend back, or can you apply a lot of pressure?

One thing about the material---"jelly" products are made of PVC. PVC in its original state is really hard (think plumbers' pipe), and for uses in more rubberlike applications, it is softened with other chemicals (phthalates are common---I'm not sure if they're the only kind, but they're definitely the most prevalent). So just because something says PVC doesn't mean it's not "jelly."

Antipova: to answer your questions, it does not squish. That is why I'm wondering how much softening they did with this one, the packaging says it is phthalate free (I can't believe I forgot to mention that!). It is not hard plastic, but is very firm. You can use a good deal of pressure without it giving much, which is something that I like. There is just a bit of flexibility at the thin point below the head. I did know that about "jelly" being made from pvc, but I know unadulterated pvc is a very stable, safe material where as softening it to a "jelly" state often compromises the integrity.
