Flying To the Moon

Use

The Getaway Wild from Nomi Tang is a G-spot vibrator with a futuristic design and unique controls. It has a flared base, so you could use it anally as well, but the flat head may make insertion rather difficult. The battery compartment opens very easily, so I classify this toy as only splash proof. You could ruin this nice toy if you submerge it.

Material / Texture

The Getaway Wild is made of luxurious soft silicone. If you have the MiMi, this has the same buttery soft feel. It will pick up a few hairs here and there, but it won’t act as a lint roller.

Like the MiMi, the Getaway Wild has a silicone coat covering a hard surface, making this a very rigid toy. I have noticed a couple of seams running length wise along the shaft, but they are not bothersome.

Design / Shape / Size

For those who like a smaller insertable toy, the Getaway Wild is a good choice. It isn’t exactly beginner friendly because the controls can be hard to figure out. Personally, when I started off with toys, simpler was a lot better.

The head is flat, but it is curved upwards in a sharp angle to make it easier to hit the G-spot, but be careful because it can catch on the pubic bone. It is 8 1/2” in length, with 6” insertable, and has a circumference of 4”.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Getaway Wild only has one button that acs as the power button, to turn the toy on and off. The vibrations start off strong, but you use the touch pad to change the settings. Slide your finger towards you to decrease the vibrations, and to increase them, slide your finger away from you. To change to pattern mode, tap the Nomi Tang logo. It could be that mine doesn’t work properly, so you may have to tap it a few times to get it to work. Press the logo again to go back in steady mode. If you find a setting you like, you can lock it by holding the bottom of the slider and you won’t accidentally change the setting. It will go red when it is locked. To unlock it, just hold that spot down again

The vibrations are moderate. If you like a lot of power, then this isn’t the toy for you. It is very quiet. Even someone in the same room may not notice it. The vibrations are deep and rumbly which make up for the lack of power. The vibrations travel throughout the entire toy, but don’t make my fingers tingly. It runs on two AA batteries. They fit in a little tray that is provided. I would have preferred no tray because the batteries are really difficult to load and unload. It feels like the little ring used to pull the tray out can break at any oment.

Care and Maintenance

Gently wash the toy with water and soap or toy cleaner. You can also sterilize it with a 10 per cent bleech solution, but don’t boil it.

Only stick to water based lubes with this toy because silicone can damage the material. The Getaway Wild comes with a nice storage bag and box to store the toy in.

Experience

I rated this toy three stars because the design did not work for me at all, and I found the controls to be rather frustrating. First of all, the winged base made it hard to hold onto during use. This will probably not be a problem for many, but I found the edges dug into my hand after a while. I also don’t like how flat the head is. It provides nice broad stimulation, but it catches on my pubic bone. This could be a funtoy for you so don’t let my experience discourage you.
Follow-up commentary
This mysteriously stopped working on me so I had to get rid of it. I wasn't exactly fond of the design either so i won't be replacing it.

@Ashley: Thanks for reading. Some people love the handle, others hate it, so it’s a matter of personal preference. For me, I can’t find a way to get a good grip.

      Probably not but the tail is actually a clitoral stimulator with a separate motor :)
    • I agree with Tori. I highly doubt this toy is built with a tail so you can throw it across the room like a paper plane. But if you want to spend $80 on a toy to try it out, by all means.

    • Although I don't own the Getaway, I can't imagine how it would be... It's not rounded, and it doesn't really appear to have a ring compatible base. Plus, I don't know that it would be comfortable against the pubic bone.

      I'm pretty sure this would work best as a hand-held toy, though I guess anything can be modified to work :)

      I thought it would fit nicely against a mound, to rub against while using it in a harness. Though I agree it could be uncomfortable. Never hurts to try it out! Well.. maybe it could hurt a bit... LOL
