Getaway Wild - g-spot vibrator discontinued by Nomi Tang - review by Tori Rebel

The Nomi Tang Getaway Wild arrived in a thick white textured box tucked inside an elegantly designed cardstock sleeve. When you open the white box, the vibrator is laid out in a bed of silver satin, on top of a satin drawstring bag you can use for storage. A word of warning - there is a very strong odor when you first open the box. It seems to be from the toy itself, which is odd because silicone is odorless, but my best guess is that the plastic touch control portion and the plastic insides of the toy are what give off the scent. Either way, it goes away quickly even if you keep the toy in the box, so don't lose any sleep over it. Included in the box you'll also find a manual that includes not only technical information, but ideas on how to use the toy and some thoughts on how to set up a comfortable environment to pleasure ones self.

We'll start with the technical specs on this one. The toy is 8" long with 6" of that being insertable. The shaft is just over 1" across and the slightly rounded g-spot head is 1-1/2" long. The base of this toy is in the shape of a Ginko leaf or a mermaid tail, depending on your perspective, and is 2-3/4" across, quite thin, and has a bit of a nub on the back for use during clitoral stimulation.

The toy has a rigid plastic interior with a soft, incredibly smooth silicone exterior. It is non-porous, phthalate free, latex free, and hypo-allergenic. It is very firm with a bit of give on the edges of the tail, the nub on the tail, and the face of the g-spot head. There's a tiny seam running up both sides of the shaft but it's just barely visible and not noticeable when using it. To insert the batteries, simply turn the tail a quarter turn, put 2AA batteries in the plastic sleeve, slide it right back in, and screw the base on. It stays closed tightly so I have no worries about this one opening unexpectedly or taking on water.

The Getaway Wild is also waterproof up to one meter. This toy has a hold feature, and once it senses that it's been submerged, it will go into hold mode on its own. To un-do it, just dry off the controls, change the pattern, and go back to your fun. It may not be super discreet looks-wise, and is on the large side for travel, but sound-wise is very discreet. It's not a buzzy toy to begin with and even on its highest settings, it's not audible through a blanket and certainly not through a door or over a running shower.

This toy has 2 really great functional features. First off, it has 2 motors. One in the base and the second in the shaft. This ensures that however, wherever, you use this toy, it will feel consistently strong throughout.

Secondly, it's controlled by touch. There's a strip of white coated plastic on the front of the tail, and a power button just below it. To turn the toy on or off, press the power button. To speed the toy up in any pattern, swipe 'up' (toward the base). To slow it down, again within steady vibration or one of the patterns, swipe 'down' (toward the head). To change the pattern, hold your finger over the "NT" logo on the touch pad for 2 seconds. The flashing blue light on the logo will reflect the function change, and as I mentioned before, you can change the speed within the functions. To put the toy on hold, just hold down the top (tail end) of the touch pad for 2 seconds and the logo light will turn red to indicate such. To unlock the hold feature, simply press down on that portion of the pad again or touch the "NT" logo. There are 3 vibration patterns on this toy - consistent vibration, pulsing, and what I call an ocean wave - the vibration goes from high to low back to high. And each of these patterns can be used at any speed you like, controlled by the touch pad.

This toy is also a dream to care for. It's silicone so it can be wiped down with a 10% bleach solution to sanitize the surface, or it can just be washed with soap and water or toy cleaner. No boiling or dishwasher cleaning because of the mechanical components though. And be sure to use only water based lubes on this - no silicone! You can store it in its satin bag or in the box it came in, depending on your preference.

I expected the touch function to have a learning curve at the very least but it is so simple to use and so responsive, that after reading through the manual once, I have had no issues at all. I also thought it might catch on the pubic bone when inserted vaginally since the head has a bit of a scoop under it. I'm normally very sensitive to this but the curve of this wasn't enough to cause any problems for me.

I'd happily give this toy as a gift and it would be ideal for any toy user, beginner to advanced. It is body safe and offers a large range of variations and possible uses without being so large to be intimidating, too complicated, or too rigid for those that can't handle bigger sizes.

The toy is obviously designed for g-spot stimulation, and does the job very well. I'm able to hit my g-spot easily because of the ergonomic shape of the toy, but it's not so hard or rigid that it's uncomfortable to thrust or rub that ultra-sensitive area. So no "I'm almost there...OWWW!" situations with this, like some other g-spot designs.

The shaft and head of the toy also work well for clitoral stimulation or general teasing, and I personally really enjoy the base for clitoral stimulation. It's sturdy enough across but flexible enough on the edges to fit comfortably against my body, and is again easy to hold and control from that angle as well. But don't limit this toy to vaginal play - it can be used anywhere you like, especially since the silicone is super smooth offering just a bit of drag, so it glides nicely against skin. I would suggest trying both ends against the nipples, or even male genitalia. In addition, this toy is anal safe since it has a wide base and the g-spot head may also prove well for p-spot stimulation.

While this toy would be great for couples to use together, it may get in the way during intercourse. The shaft is a little long and inflexible so it would only be really comfortable if held from the front side while having sex in any of the rear entry positions. I personally prefer this as a solo toy or something used to warm me up for sex.

Overall, I love this toy. The initial odor was annoying but is gone now, and although it may catch on the pubic bone for some bodies, it hasn't been a problem at all for me. This leaves me with absolutely zero complaints about this toy from a personal perspective. The motor rumbles quietly and consistently without any motor fluctuations, even when pressure is applied. It works beautifully for everything I've tried it for, has a wide range of speeds and functions to please any mood I'm in and delivers powerful orgasms every time I use it. In my opinion, this toy entirely deserves five starts, and I'd probably give it six if I could.

This toy is still one I reach for frequently. I thoroughly enjoy it each time I use it and it performs just as well as the day I brought it home.
