G-spot rabbit vibrator discontinued

I Really Wanted This To Work For Me (but it didn't)

The G Vibe by Fun Toys would be an a good choice for those who enjoy buzzy, weak vibrations. The toy can be used by male or female, solo or together. It has a variety of uses with 10 speeds and 6 functions. I really like the concept of the toy but the weak, buzzy vibrations left me unsatisfied. If the toy were stronger, I'd absolutely love it.

Use

When I had first seen the G Vibe listed on EF, it was through the product search. It was listed as a clit and g-spot vibe. I love external and internal stimulation at the same time, which is why I own so many rabbit vibrators. I went to check out the product page and was completely confused with the shape of G Vibe. I thought to myself, “well, is this supposed to work like some sort of deformed rabbit vibrator?” I wasn’t entirely sure how it was supposed to be used until I received the toy and looked through the manual.

The manual consists of illustrated diagrams that show the user how the toy can be used. There are 8 illustrations in total. I’ve taken the image of the diagrams from the company’s website, but they are the exact same photos that are in the manual.

So as you can see from the photo above, there are a number of ways to use G Vibe. The toy can be used for couples play, or can be used for solo play by either male or female. There is a round handle at the very base of the toy, making it safe to use anally. It can be used for internal and/or external stimulation.

G Vibe can be used to stimulate the nipples, or other erogenous zones on the body. The ears of the toy can be wrapped around the shaft of the penis and glided up and down. The ears can sit below the testicles while the user masturbates or receives oral sex or a hand job. It can be used for clitoral stimulation during couples play, or inserted vaginally while receiving anal penetration. It can also be used for double penetration, with one ear in the vagina and the other in the anus. The one ear can be inserted into the vagina and the other ear sitting between your bum cheeks for stimulation outside of the anus. Both ears can be inserted into the vagina for internal stimulation or one ear can be inserted into the vagina while the other stimulates the clitoris. So many options, so little time!

The G Vibe could be travelled with but it wouldn’t be a toy I’d recommend for travel. It’s a larger toy and the buttons don’t have a locking function to them. The lower speed settings would work well for those who need noise discretion in their toys because of their living situation (shared dorm room, etc), but the higher settings are fairly loud. The toy doesn’t state that it is waterproof. Instead, the website states that it is “water-resistant” and “can be easily washed in water”.

Material / Texture

G Vibe by Fun Toys is available in pink, purple, or rose. I have the purple coloured toy. The G Vibe is made of silicone and ABS (plastic). There is a gold coloured ring around the toy, which sits right above the base. The inner area of the handle is also gold coloured. The gold coloured parts of the toy are made of plastic and the rest of the toy is the silicone material. Since the toy is silicone, only water-based lubricants should be used with the G Vibe.

The silicone is incredibly smooth. I rarely say that a toy has a very luxurious feel to it, but this one does. Having no texture, the toy would be suitable for both beginners or advanced toy users. There is a seam line that runs up the front and down the back of the toy. The seam line also runs vertically down the centre, inside of each “ear”. These seam lines are subtle and shouldn’t irritate those who are seam-sensitive.

The ears of the toy are very flexible. They can be bent any which way. I’m able to flex the ears so that the tip if each is lying backwards against the gold coloured ring above the base. The silicone has quite a bit of give to it when you try squishing the material but it is firm enough that it keeps it shape. There is no scent or taste to the toy.

Design / Shape / Size

The total length of the toy is approximately 9 ½ inches. The insertable length, so right above the golden coloured ring above the base of the toy to the tips, is 6 3/8 inches. The toy could be inserted a bit past the gold ring if you wanted or needed a bit more length. There is approximately ¾ of an inch past the ring that can be inserted before you reach the area where the buttons are located.

IMG

The shaft splits into two “ears” just less than 3 inches up from the golden coloured ring. Each ear has a length of approximately 3 ½ inches and a width between just over an inch to ¾ of an inch. The circumference of each ear is 2 ¼ -3 inches. The bottom of each ear is where the width is largest and it gets smaller as you move upwards. The shaft, beneath the ears, has a circumference of 4 ¼ inches. The oval shape of the inside of the handle measures 1 ½ inches long and 1 inch wide.

The size of the toy is suitable for both beginners and advanced users. Both ears can be inserted into the vagina for a fuller feeling, or one ear can be inserted and the other used for external stimulation. The only group of people that may have an issue with the size are those who consider themselves size-queens. Even with both ears inserted, the circumference may not be enough to satisfy you.

The G Vibe can be travelled with in the included storage pouch but it’s rather large compared to the smaller, more compact, vibrators that are available. The other thing that makes the toy less travel-friendly than other options is the fact that there is no locking function. This means that if you have the toy in your purse or suitcase and the button panel is pressed, the toy could turn on and start vibrating. Locking functions are nice when travelling so that your toy doesn’t accidentally get turned on. The buttons on the G Vibe don’t require the user to press them hard either, so that means it’d be even more likely to turn on by accident.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The included manual has a diagram of the toy, which vaguely explains what each button controls. The rest of the manual consists of illustrated photos that show the user the different ways the toy can be used. I love the fact that the manual includes those illustrated photos but it would have been nice if the manual had information on the charging times, etc.

When the toy arrived, it had a charge to it. Since the manual didn’t have any information on if the toy should be charged before first use, I went to the company’s website. The only information that the website states is that it has a “fast chargeable battery”, although the “initial charging time is 8 hours”. It also states that the toy provides, “Up to 4 hours operation on one charge of battery.” I’m not certain how fast the “fast chargeable battery” really is because the toy has not died on me yet. I’m disappointed that neither the website nor the manual gives an approximate charge time for the toy but I will follow up with information on this once I’ve charged the toy a few times.

IMG

The charging cord is approximately 48 inches long. The one end of the cord plugs into the USB port on your computer and the other end plugs into the bottom of the toy. You’ll know the toy is charging because the buttons will flash. I assume that the buttons will stop flashing and either a) hold a steady, constant light or b) not light up at all, once the toy is fully charged. I’ll update this information in my follow up review as well.

There are 3 buttons that sit at the front of the base: a plus (+) sign, a minus (-) sign, and between the two sits a button with a squiggly line on it. The plus (+) and minus (-) buttons are used to control the vibration intensity. There are a total of 10 speeds to cycle through, from lowest to highest.

IMG

To increase the intensity, you can click the plus (+) sign button or hold it down. To decrease the intensity, you do the same thing but with the minus (-) button. The minus (-) button is also used to turn the toy off by holding the button down until the vibrations stop. The buttons light up whenever you press them but they don’t stay lit up. When you’re using the toy the lights don’t flash or anything.

IMG

The button with the squiggly line on it controls the different patterns that the toy has. The first function, which you begin with when you turn the toy on, is the constant vibration. To cycle through the patterns, you just continue clicking that button. You’ll need to cycle through all the patterns to get back to first one. When you turn the toy off and then back on you’ll be back at the constant vibration, regardless of which function you had turned the toy off at. Below is an illustration from the company’s website that explains the different functions.

There are 2 motors to the toy, one in each ear. Each motor cannot be controlled separately. The manual shows where the motors sit but they actually are much lower than what is shown in the manual. The manual makes it look like they are almost right at the top. That’s not the case. The top of each motor sits approximately 2 inches down from the tips of the ears. The vibration can be felt throughout the entire shaft and ears but are strongest in the ears. The strength of the vibrations in the ears is strongest where the motors are.

IMG

The first to third intensity level cannot be heard from beneath the covers. These levels are very, very quiet. The fourth to eight intensity level can be heard from beneath the covers but not a closed door. The ninth and tenth level can definitely be heard through covers and possibly through a closed door. The strength of the intensity levels vary from less than 1 out of 5 to a 3 ½ out of 5, and the vibrations are more buzzy than rumbly.

If you’re a power queen, you won’t find the G Vibe strong enough for you. I consider myself a power queen, especially when it comes to external stimulation. I need strong vibrations and they also have to be the rumbly type. Buzzy vibrations don’t feel as strong so a buzzy 3 out of 5 vroom is less intense than a rumbly 3 out of 5.

Care and Maintenance

Having no texture, the toy is really easy to clean. You’ll want to pay a bit more attention to the crease at the bottom of the ears (right in between). You can clean the toy with a damp cloth and soap, toy wipes, or a toy cleaning spray. You can sterilize the toy by wiping it down with rubbing alcohol or a bleach/water solution. This is especially important if you’re a) sharing the toy, b) using it anally, or c) changing orifices.

G Vibe can be stored inside of the cardboard packaging or inside of the included storage pouch. The pouch is white in colour with a drawstring closure at the very top. The drawstring is red and the company logo, at the front middle, is red as well. The logo is discreet in the sense that it doesn’t scream, “SEX TOY INSIDE”. The logo is just the letters “f” and “t” in a square. The pouch measures 11 inches x 5 ½ inches. The toy, charging cord, and manual fit perfectly inside. You could even fit a small bottle of lubricant inside if you wanted to.

Packaging

The packaging to the G Vibe doesn’t have any photos of naked models on it but it’s not really discreet either. The front of the packaging states the product name and has an artsy photo on it. The back has an image of the toy and, like the front, states the product name. I assume that if anyone seen the image of the toy on the packaging, they’d know what it is. Or, if they seen the name “G Vibe”, they may have a good idea that it’s an adult toy.

IMG

The packaging opens and closes with a magnetic flap at the very bottom of the package. It’s actually a really nice box as long as you don’t need discretion. The toy sits in of a foam cut out inside of the packaging. The user manual, storage pouch, and charging cord sit beneath the foam. The toy can be stored in the cardboard packaging or in the included storage pouch. The cardboard packaging can be recycled.

Personal comments

If you look at the manual illustrations, there is a little dot that is labelled “P”. I wasn’t sure what this meant because women do not have P-Spots. I had emailed the company to ask them what the “P” in the diagrams stood for. This is what I had said:

The one illustrated photo shows the toy stimulating an area that is marked with the letter "P". Seeing as how women do not have a P-Spot, I'm wondering what this "P" on the 2 photos stand for. If you could let me know, that'd be great!

This was their response:

The P-spot stands for the spot located opposite to the G-spot, in the opposite side of vagina. It resembles the male P-spot and it is very sensitive for both men and women.

I found this pretty vague so I brought my confusion to the community. You can read the thread here. The user, MrWilly, gave a few excellent responses that I recommend reading.

I sent another email to the company asking about submerging the toy in water and how long the charge time is after the initial 8-hour charge. This is the response I had received:

Water-resistant means that you can easily wash it without any fear, but you shouldn't submerge it in water. The normal charge time is fast indeed - 30-40 minutes…

Experience

Both my partner and I tried the toy out. Neither of us had used it anally since we aren’t into anal play. We tried the G Vibe on my partner in the ways it was showed in the manual. We put his penis between the two ears and glided it up and down. He wasn’t impressed. Then I pinched the tips of the ears together to see if that made any difference while the ears moved up and down his shaft. He said he’d prefer a hand job.

The last thing we tried on him was placing the ears beneath his testicles while getting a hand job. This is something he actually really enjoyed. He loved the different patterns of vibration and said that it really intensified things. He wants us to use this toy every time he receives oral or a hand job now.

The one illustration in the manual shows the tips of the ears stimulating the nipples. Depending on how far apart your nipples are, this may or may not work for you. In order for both of my nipples to be stimulated at the same time, I had to press my boobs together so there was less width between the nipples. The tips of the ears measure 4 inches apart from each other so I assume that most people would need to press their boobs together in order to make it work. Personally, I’d prefer to just use a bullet for nipple stimulation rather than the G Vibe.

Using the G Vibe for external stimulation during sex is okay but there are better toys for this purpose. I need a stronger vibration then what G Vibe can give me. Also, there are much smaller toys that are less likely to get in the way during sex.

I used the toy with one ear inserted vaginally and the other resting against the clit. I also tried the illustration in the manual where the ears are pinched against the clit. Neither of these worked for me since the toy isn’t as strong as I need. I then tried using the toy with both ears inserted vaginally. This was the best way for me to use it. The power feels a bit stronger when you’re using both ears (because you’re using two motors instead of one). I’ve never actually had a G-spot orgasm and this toy hasn’t changed that. It did feel nice though.

I struggled with deciding what rating this toy deserves. On one hand, it has many uses, and is multi-speed and function. On the other hand, it’s not waterproof, and the power is really weak. I had finally decided on a 3 out of 5 rating. If you like buzzy, weak vibrations, this may just be a 5 out of 5 product for you.
