My Gentle Girthy Joystick

The Joy Pad looks a bit big and may take a little while to get used to, but for those who are looking for a full, fun time, this is definitely your vibrator. It will take you gently and sensuously up that mountain and just as gently place you back at the beginning for another go 'round.

Use

The Joy Pad is intended for stimulation of the G-Spot and clitoris of a woman. The pink end is intended for use near the G-Spot, while the control end is intended to be held and used near the clitoris.

The fun look of this toy makes it seem perfect for couples to use together. The control end looks like a joystick that a partner can control and pleasure the other partner with.

While this seems like a good use, I just used this toy solo. Handling the controls were a bit awkward, but I was still able to achieve orgasm multiple times on my own so it works great for solo play.

The vibrations aren't too loud so this toy can be used in the privacy of ones room with the door closed and no one would be able to hear it in the next room. The sound would be totally masked if there is other activity going on in other parts of the home while this toy is in use.

Due to the bulkiness of this toy, I wouldn't suggest bringing it along on a travel excursion. The color and shape look very strange. This toy is not discreet at all to travel with. The box it came packaged in doesn't make the toy discreet to travel with either.

The Joy Pad is not intended for anal use at all, but since the bottom of it is silicone and curves into a "U" shape, it would be safe to insert anally. The handling of the controls in a solo environment would be tricky though. It'd be best to try an anal insertion with a partner.

In the Joy Pad instruction sheet, Dorcel warns pregnant women against using this toy.

Material / Texture

The Joy Pad is made of silicone, which is a safe material. When I took it out of the packaging, I didn't detect a smell until I held it close to my nose. I found the faint smell pleasant, but couldn't smell it once the vibrator was far away from my nose.

The Joy Pad is smooth to the touch, except for the ribs near the top (right under the controls). Although it has ribs, they feel more like gentle ripples to the touch.

The smoothness of the silicone allows for easy insertion and I found I didn't even have to use any lube (maybe because I'm perpetually wet).

Because of it's slightly large width, I'd say this toy would be best suited for intermediate users. I have had a lot of children so I felt comfortable with the wide girth and rather thankful. I fear that anything else will just simply get lost in there.

Design / Shape / Size

Stretching the Joy Pad

The Joy Pad, is very girthy. The width of the toy increases toward the G-Spot stimulating end. While it's wide, it's also very flexible. You can just about stretch it till it's straight from its original "U" shape. I guess the designers wanted to make sure all types of women would enjoy using it. I did appreciate the flexibility of this vibrator, although it could be seen as being a bit floppy.

The two motors (located in the ribbed section and tip of the G-Spot bulb) were balanced with each other in the toy, but not so when in use. I found the heaviness of the second, G-Spot motor to push and force the bulbous tip down out of my vagina so that I had to keep pushing it back up and in.

Plastic part of Joy Pad

The Joy Pad has one obvious plastic piece that come after the ribs and before the controls. This is where the thread is located so you can screw the top onto the Joy Pad body. This part should be located outside of your body while in use, so you won't have to worry about cleaning it too much.

Ribbed section of Joy Pad

The Joy Pad has a ribbed section that is supposed to line up with your clitoris and vaginal lips. While I used this vibrator, I didn't feel much of a difference when the ribs were placed on my body or kept off. The whole device might not suit my body, which causes things not to line up right.

Joy Pad Measurements
Joy Pad Battery Compartment

The Joy Pad takes four triple "A" batteries that fit two-by-two in the battery compartment. They fit into the Joy Pad only one way so you always have them in properly. The plastic compartment is shaped perfectly so that the batteries can only fit one way. I did appreciate the designers taking out the confusion of putting batteries in backwards.

Joy Pad Screw-On Thread

One thing I found strange about the twist-on top is that it doesn't have a fully repeating thread to screw down on. I guess it doesn't need it, it's just strange to only half screw something together and it be tightly screwed. While I used it, the Joy Pad top didn't come open so I guess the designers know what they're doing.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Joy Pad Controls

The controls are easy to use and get used to. The off switch is on the right of the toy (or on your left when you're using it) and shaped like a minus sign. Holding it down for one second will completely turn the toy off. The on switch is the plus sign that's found on the left side of the toy (or on your right whnen you're using it). Holding that down for one second turns the toy on.

The vibrations are:
1) Both motors in a steady vibration
2) G-Spot motor in a steady vibration
3) Clit and G-Spot vibrations alternating
4) Clit motor in short pattern, then G-Spot motor in quick pattern
5) Clit motor in short, short long, short, short pattern while G-Spot motor does two long vibrations
6) Clit motor in short patterns alternating very quickly with G-Spot patterns
7) Both clit motor and G-Spot motor in long, short, short, short pattern
8) Both Clit and G-Spot motors in long, long, long, short, short pattern
9) Clit motor in long patterns while G-Spot motor does short, short, short, short, long, long (sounds like the bass at a party. This thing is really gettin' down!)
10) Both motors doing extremely fast alternating short vibrations

The top speech bubble symbol cycles through the functions from 1-10. The bottom speech bubble cycles through the functions from 10-1.

I preferred the 1st function (mainly because I'm a Plain Jane at heart). It gave me exactly what I needed very quickly and could also finish the job all by itself!

Joy Pad Ridges

These ridges are designed to provide you with extra stimulation near your clit, but I found I didn't even notice the texture. The vibrating took my mid off it. Perhaps things didn't line up as they should so I couldn't experience the full potential. I was fine with just the minimal pleasure I felt with the Joy Pad.

The vibrations were strong enough for me. I also liked the size of the toy. It's meaty so the buzzy sounding vibrations echo throughout the toy and send a rumbly sensation to your parts. They were deep enough to get me started and finish me off multiple times so it passed the performance test in my book.

Care and Maintenance

Washing the Joy Pad

Caring for this toy is very simple. You can wash it with antibacterial soap and water, dip it in a 10% bleach solution, use a wipe to wipe it down or spray a bit of toy cleaner on it and wipe dry.

I just opted for the soap. It wasn't very dirty as I only used it vaginally. I did wipe it with a plain baby wipe before I washed it with the soap. I made sure not to put the toy under water, since it's not fully waterproof.

When storing your Joy Pad, be careful not to place it next to another silicone toy so that they're touching. The silicone could cause the toys to stick to each other. You could place it in a separate bag to keep it away from other silicone toys or just use the packaging box as storage.

Packaging

JoyPad Box

The packaging box is very pretty. It looks high end and high class. The writing is a bit funny on the front of the box as it's not uniform. If you turn the box one way, you can read the writing from left to right, but the other writing will be vertical making it difficult to read. Not sure why they did that, but the main language seems to be French (the French is written first) so that might have something to do with it.

This packaging is not very discreet as there is a scantily clad woman in an alluring pose on each side of the box. When I received this from Eden Fantasys it came in a plain brown box, but if the original box would have been shipped to me I would have been very embarrassed.

Joy Pad Instructions
When you pull out the tray with the toy, you'll also find a folded up instruction/direction sheet. For such a big sheet of paper, there's only one small column in English. The rest of the page, front and back, is filled with 16 other languages (this toy is certainly internationally known).

The instructions contain product specs, directions on how to use the various functions, recommendations on what lube to use with it, how to clean and care for it, warnings against improper use, tips for recycling, a short exemption clause and a warranty. There are also pictures of all the other products in their line (I have my eye on the Geisha Plug).

Joy Pad Tray Guards

As you can see in the picture, the plastic tray has plastic guards that seem to hold the toy in place. This is all well and good to stop shifting in the mail or something, but it's a pain to get out. Just be forewarned, you're going to have to push this thing out from the other side of the plastic tray. I was a bit upset about that as I was trying to keep everything in the packaging in pristine condition so I could use it for reliable storage.

Personal comments

I love the size of this toy. It's not small and tiny, but a healthy size for those who have a bit of experience or a wider vaginal canal.

I would give this vibrator five stars, but the warning to pregnant women is keeping me from doing so. It may be just a general warning to all pregnant women, but I don't like the fact that they will have to miss out on this wonderful toy.

I also took a while to get used to the big, somewhat floppy size and that might turn some off to this.

I call the Joy Pad my Gentle Girthy Joystick because the orgasms it gives me aren't so strong that I can't do it again right away. My only other vibrator, The Hitachi, gives me just about the same feelings, although the double motor in the Joy Pad makes the time right before climax so exquisite. Also, with my Hitachi, I'm off-limits because of over-sensitivity for a while unless I really want to push it. With he Joy Pad, I feel like I'm with my hubby. This is my first toy that's given me close to natural orgasms. The climb is wonderful and the exhilaration at the top is wonderful, but not overpowering. I can safely and quickly climb down again and ride on up the mountain time after time. Because of this, the Joy Pad is my treasured companion and favorite vibrator to reach for.

Experience

This was my first time using a G-Spot vibrator and my first time using a vibrator that was made to be inserted. I was looking forward to trying this out and thought I'd have a lot of fun controlling this thing inside me.

The Joy Pad didn't disappoint. I thought it would at first because of the position I used the first time. I just stood up and inserted it, but found I had to fight gravity and the weight of the second G-Spot motor which threw off my arousal more than once. I'd get to just about the tipping point, when I'd have to try to shove it back in to reach my G-Spot. I thought the Joy Pad was a dud in bringing me to completion, but I got so close I just had to give it a second try. It seemed eager to please.

Also, it seems you need a bit of time to get used to handling it due to its somewhat sloppy and bulbous design. It may seem like a bit much to handle and get perfectly lined up for ultimate stimulation leading to orgasm, but you do get the hang of it. I was able to figure it out on the next try when I lied down on the bed and just rolled around with it between my legs. Being completely bare must have added to the excitement for me while I was using the Joy Pad on my stomach. I had enough control to roll the control head around either on or near my clit which helped immensely while the G-Spot vibrations inside provided a great platform to climax from.
