Tweezers I Don't Mind Using!

If you're looking for a set of clamps that will grow with you as you experience the beginning stages of light BDSM, these are a great option. They're lightweight, easy to use, and are absolutely beautiful! The paint does come off fairly easily, but that's a small thing that can be overlooked when you consider how well these preform!

Use

Beaded Tweezer Clamps from Spartacus are a beautiful way to add a little kink to your playtime! These clamps are made to decorate your lovely nipples while giving you that little pinch you desire.

Since these clamps are adjustable, there's little worry about whether or not they will fit you, they'll fit almost any nipple size, and work for the newest toy enthusiast to the most advanced user. You get to control how hard these clamps pinch your nipples, which make it a great option if you're unsure how you feel about this type of play, or want something that will advance with you as you get more into using this type of toy.

Males and females alike can enjoy the pleasure that these clamps bring. They can be worn during foreplay, intercourse, and makes a great teaser when wearing them under only a shirt. Because of the size, it would be awkward and uncomfortable to wear them under a bra and would be very obvious if worn in public without one, so unless that's your style, I would suggest wearing them in more private settings.

Because of the size and design of these clamps, they could also be used one at a time to bring a little style and pinch to the clitoris. This is best when not planning on having vaginal intercourse while wearing them because they would get in the way and possibly poke your partner and ruin the moment.

These are very compact and can easily be tucked into a purse or pocket if you intend on traveling with them, but someone might know what they are if seen.

Material / Texture

These tweezers are made from metal and are painted glossy black. The tip of the clamps have a slight bend to them and come to a straight, flat end which are then covered with little rubber stoppers that help keep them in place and keep your nipples comfortable while they're being used. At the opposite end, these tweezers are adorned with five simple, yet elegant beads that really spruce up the look of of these clamps.

The product pages states that these clamps are made from metal and plastic. Both materials rate an 8/10 on the Eden material safety scale. These clamps are made from food-grade materials, and are hypo-allergenic, non-porous, latex, and phthalates free. Eden doesn't specify what type is used, so use caution if you have allergies to certain metals.

The metal is nice and smooth and very sturdy. If you tried to bend these, it would take a bit of force for them to give. The rubber stoppers on the ends have some squish to them and when removed are very pliable. This is especially nice when in use because they add to the comfort level. The beads are made from plastic (though the box states they're glass) and have no give to them.

There was no odor when I received these clamps, which is always appreciated.

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

These tweezer clamps are a very non-intimidating option that's made so that they'll fit almost any nipple size. Around the outsides of the tweezers is a small ring that slides along the full length. When they are fully opened, they form a narrow 'V' shape and when they are fully closed the tips completely touch each other. The higher up the ring it, the tighter the tweezers will be.

The beads are connected to the tweezers by a thin metal bar that has a flat end at the base of the last bead. At the top, it loops around another small ring which is connected to the bottom of the tweezers. The beads are very elegant looking and are faceted. They go in order from smallest to largest; the smallest is clear, two are a lighter gray, one is a darker gray, and one is a flat sliver piece. The length of the bar is just right for the five beads to sit nicely together without much movement.

These clamps are quite easy to put on. Start with the circular adjustment ring at the base and make sure that your nipples are erect. After putting the tweezers on either side of your nipple, slowly push the ring upward to your desired comfort level. Those with larger nipples will find that they don't need to slide it up as much, whereas someone with small nipples will need to put it higher to get them to stay in place.

Once in place these tweezers are very comfortable to wear, and it's very difficult for these to slip off without pulling on them. These aren't weighted, so it's very unlikely that they would just fall off. How well they stay in place depends highly on how tight you have them on your nipples, and how hard you're tugging on them. When you're ready to take them off, I would suggest holding the top of the tweezers with one hand while sliding the ring down with the other, causing the tweezers to become loose and much easier to remove; unless you like a lot of pain, pulling them off is not the best option.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning these clamps isn't necessary with regular wear, but should you get something on them (such as bodily fluid or lubrication), cleaning them with soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner is enough. Do make sure that you fully dry these with a cloth before storing them so that the metal doesn't become oxidized.

These are small and can easily be tucked anywhere, but I would suggest putting them in a small baggie or container so that one (or both) doesn't get lost in the mix of things. These would fit into a jewelery box, nightstand, toy box; just about anywhere you'd like.

Packaging

The package these clamps arrived in is not the same as the one pictured on the product page. Rather than a plastic clam-shell package, they arrive in a mostly black cardboard box that has a clear window for viewing the clamps without having to open the package. The front has the Spartacus name and logo at the top as well as proudly stating that they've been 'trusted for 25 years'. It also says that they are adjustable and are beaded with 'black glass'. I thought that part was odd since the beads are very obviously made from plastic or something similar to that.

The back of the box again has the company name and logo along with their website. There's only a small amount of information on it (which is really all that's necessary) and is included in four languages.

When you open the top of the box, you'll see that the tweezers are attached to another piece of cardboard that can easily slide out. They are attached by being clamps onto two small pieces that are punched from the cardboard piece.

The box can be used as storage, but would take up far more space than necessary, and the information on the box is so minimal and self explanatory that it can be discarded as you normally would something that made from cardboard.

Personal comments

I noticed two things about these clamps that I didn't appreciate.

The first time I slid the ring down the length of the tweezers, some of the black paint was scratched off. I had read in other reviews that it was possible for this to happen over time, but this happened the moment that they came out of the package. While that's annoying to me, I don't imagine my husband notices that fact while I'm wearing them.

The other thing I noticed, was that one of my beads was only faceted on one side, the other is totally rounded and smooth. It's only like this on one bead, on one of the clamps. It seems as though it was missed during production. Again, it's a little annoying to me, but something my husband wouldn't notice, and probably isn't an issue with every set.

Experience

These are the second type of clamps that I've tried, the first were press style. I've had issues with the press style slipping off and causing discomfort, so I wanted to try another option. Tweezer style clamps are the way to go! They stay in place very well, even when tugging on them. They give enough pressure to feel it, but I don't have to constantly worry that they're going to be pulled of during play and cause unexpected pain like my experiences with the press style clamps.

So, overall I'm quite pleased with how these look and feel. I think they could have done a better job with the quality of the tweezers, but this style was just what I was looking for!
Follow-up commentary
There's really nothing wrong with these tweezers aside from some of the paint coming off from them; but I've found I can't care for the tweezer style clamps as much as others. It's more of a reflection of my own personal tastes than that of the product.
