The cute Romance Enhancing Fluttering Cock Ring, made by Evolved Novelties, was made to fit on your partner’s penis to enhance your pleasure during sex. The cute butterfly can be used in many different ways though. It can easily be applied to a dildo or vibrator during a solo act, or you can remove the bullet and use it without the butterfly. Any way that you choose to use this cock ring will surely bring you some kind of pleasure. The vibration the butterfly gives off makes it nice to stimulate areas such as your clitoris, nipples, vaginal opening, or anywhere you enjoy having a vibrating touch. The paper insert does say you should only use this on external areas, so I wouldn’t suggest inserting it anywhere. The butterfly cock ring would be good for beginners or pro users. Material / Texture

The butterfly part of the cock ring is made out of TPR. It is latex free, phthalates free, and hypoallergenic. This toy is porous since it is made out of TPR, so I wouldn’t recommend sharing, and it should be used with a condom. The material is very stretchy and smooth to touch. There isn’t really a smell unless you hold it up to your nose, and even then the smell isn’t bad. The bullet seems to be made out of a hard plastic. It does not bend, and it is also very smooth. It does have a small rubber band where you open it to put the batteries in. The band is stretchy too, but I suggest not stretching it too much or it will break.

Shape / Design / Size / Fit

I chose the black butterfly when buying this cock ring. Because it is in the shape of a butterfly, I thought my husband would find it silly, but when he saw it, he didn’t really care what it looked like. He was just excited to know we were about to have sex. The cock ring measures 4” in length; that’s from the bottom tip to the top of the hole where you insert the bullet. From top wing to top wing, which is the larger of the wings, it measures almost 4”. I was able to stretch the butterfly hole to about 4” across very easily, so I don’t think most guys would find it a problem to fit on their penis. The bullet is just over 2” in length, but the sleeve that the bullet fits in is just slightly under 2” long. The tip of the sleeve that holds the bullet has two ridges that could provide you with a different feel than other cock rings. I think the ridges are also there to protect you from being bumped by the bullet so that it doesn’t hurt or feel uncomfortable.

The description does say that the bullet has multiple speeds, but I only found that it has one. I found that the only true purpose of the wings is to make it look pretty. I didn’t even notice them during sex. The only stimulation you receive from this toy is from the bullet. The head of the butterfly, which holds the bullet, seemed to fit perfectly with my body. When it would stay in place, I could feel the vibrations on my clitoris very well. It does, however, tend to move while thrusting. My husband and I had to slow down a few times to readjust the butterfly head. At times I would feel like the thing wanted to go inside me or go to the side rather than to rub against my clitoris. The vibration of the bullet does make this toy worth it. The vibrations it gives off are far from being weak. I can feel them even when the cock ring is away from my clitoris, though not as strongly as I do while it is against me.

Care and Maintenance

The bullet can be removed very easily from the butterfly to be cleaned. You can clean it with toy cleaner or with a mild soap and water. I always clean my toys before and after use. I store my toys in a cool, dry place so that the toys don’t melt or change in any way. It doesn’t seem to be a lint magnet so far, but it hasn’t really come in contact with any yet. You can keep the butterfly in the package it came in, or a ziplock bag would work just fine.

Packaging

The cock ring comes in a clear plastic clamshell that easily pops open when you pull on the top two pieces. It is not discreet at all. The plastic does form to the butterfly very well, so it does make a nice case to store it in. In the clamshell you will find the butterfly, the bullet, and three small watch batteries. You don’t have to worry about losing the batteries when you pop the shell open because they are held in place by small pieces of tape that are easy to remove. It does have a paper insert, but it doesn’t provide any cleaning instructions or ways to use the toy. It does talk about how you should not use the toy, which I have stated already.

Personal comments

My husband and I did enjoy the butterfly cock ring, even though we had to fix it a few times. The vibrations alone make it worth the fun. We have tried it in several different positions and find that it works well in all of them. The one position that we found that we had to slow down to fix it was missionary. If you do try it while having sex in the doggie-style position, you may want to have the head of the butterfly under his penis unless you want to feel the vibration around the anal opening.

  It really depends on the specific cock ring. Some work really well, some don't really do anything, and each one works differently for each couple. I'd read reviews to see which ones work better in general and go from there. I've had a few cock rings that people raved about, but when I tried them I couldn't have cared less for them.
