Suntouched edible candles - oil discontinued by Earthly Body - review by Cinnamon Chambers

This is a must have item for everyday, not just for romance and sensual massages. I love this candle to pieces. It by far exceeded my expectations for scent, burn time, and texture of the massage oil it creates as it warms. I couldn't wait to open this candle when I got it. It was lit even before I got to the bedroom with it.

When burning this candle will fill the entire room with the delicious scent of watermelon. The light fragrance of the candle increases as it heats up and carries beautifully. Everyone that came in noticed how fresh and yummy that it smelled. This is one thing that I expect a candle to do well, and this one gets top honors!

This candle is soy based making it a much safer option than paraffin wax candles. Soy comes from soy beans which are all natural and non toxic. They naturally produce less soot and burn cooler than other candles. This makes them last longer. I have burned it for hours and used it for a massage, and it is still very full. This particular candle is all natural containing Soybean oil, coconut oil, hemp seed oil, apricot oil, safflower oil, avocado oil, vitamin E. The packaging is metal and is recyclable or reusable after the candle is gone and proclaims that Suntouched candles are drug and cruelty free.

The candle is smaller than stated online. It is five ounces not five pounds. The container is about the size of the palm of your hand, and comes with a matching lid. The picture on the lid is my least favorite thing about the candle and the design. It shows a portion of a womans face licking a huge watermelon slice. Though it indicates the scent of the candle, it is not attractive or appropriate for me to use when displaying the candle. It is only applied with a sticker and can be removed from the tin lid with some effort.

As a massage oil this is amazing. I would suggest letting the candle warm about thirty minutes then applying the oil to the skin. Even with the candle burning the wax was not hot enough to burn. It was perfectly warm whenever I checked it. There is a spoon included to drizzle the oil in small sections. Pouring also works and is more efficient for back and tummy massages. The oil is silky and soft. It rubs into the skin with ease and leaves the skin feeling very soft and supple. There is not a greasy feel to the skin after it has been applied. It did not matte up or cause problems when used on skin that had some hair, suck as my partners abdomen and chest. This works better than most lotions, and works wonders on dry skin. I suppose this is from the hemp, vitamin E and coconut oils in the candle that are known to be good for the skin.

This candle smells great as it is being burned but it makes the skin it was applied to smell even better. The scent is as close to an exact match as possible to watermelon bubble gum. It is light and youthful with out being overly sweet in its fragrance. Even my partner liked how it smelled on my skin as well as his.

As far as being edible, I am not so sure. The ingredients are all natural and would not be harmful to ingest. For me there was not much benefit or taste when licking the oil on my partners back or my arm. It left a light aftertaste again like watermelon bubble gum but that was extremely mild. There was not an oily feeling which was a plus. Even though I did not find this to be a delicious oral treat I still am very happy with what this candle does offer and recommend it to anyone.

I have used this virtually all over. The oil has never been hot enough to burn even the most sensitive areas of my body or my partners. I love how my skin feels after using it. The oil is non staining and clear. I got it on a towel that we used under me for massage and it did not stain or leave a waxy residue at all.
