Upon first opening the canister a smell of ammonia seeped out it smelled terrible! But once using the latex on skin or for whatever else the smell soon faded away. when the latex is dry there is absolutely no smell, it is used as a persevere and is harmless unless you maybe put your face directly in the jar for several hours. Although I am sure that sticking our heads in a jar of ammonia latex is not our purpose of this product.

This 100% latex material is excellent for crafts. Which was my intended purpose. It is great for casting things from plaster molds, I have been using it to cast noses and paw pads for fur suits. It has lasted a long while as long as the lid is closed really tight.. the Latex will stick to itself however, if you plan on making things that will last, some powder must be applied to make it not stick to itself, a talc powder, or latex shine. Great to use to coat things like foam for crafts as well, it can be painted with acrylic paints for different colors however this neon pink color was very bright and is extremely luminescent in black light.

In thin coats it cures in minutes but with some thicker molds it takes about a day. This product is great for use on skin as well, it makes for a smooth but fun way to paint on designs, watch out for body hair though it will rip it right out it is great to use to make pasties, paint on a shirt, or other outfit, or even just for some fun designs. This product is great for people with some creativity. It can be anything you want it to be, when built up into thicker layers it can even be used over and over. Simply make sure when storing any latex made products not to let them touch these latex decorations can be worn again and reapplied with another layer of wet latex.

Works best with some planning ahead of time.
