The Wahl Deluxe Wand is an upgraded (and much larger) version of the traditional Wahl. None of the attachments are intended for insertion nor are there any attachments out there that make the Wahl Deluxe an insertable toy. For this reason, this toy can not be used anally or vaginally; it can only be used clitorally or on other erogenous zones of the body. This wand can also be used on non-sexual areas of the body for deep tissue massaging. Since the head of the wand is so large, this wand also tends to work best for large-area stimulation instead of stimulation of just the clitoris or other small areas.

The Wahl Deluxe must be used in an area near an outlet. Because of the power cord, this toy draws power from an outlet and must be plugged in to work. For this reason, this toy is NOT waterproof and is actually fatal if you take this into the shower or bath with you.

Since this vibrator is pretty powerful, this is not for those who are very sensitive to vibrations - even the low setting is pretty powerful. This toy also doesn't work best for travel since it's very large and does require an outlet for use. This toy is also lacking in discretion since it is pretty large and can be difficult to hide. However, since the toy is actually intended to be used for back massage, if found, the toy could be passed off as a non-sexual item.

This toy works best for solo masturbation or masturbation with a partner. This does not work well for use during intercourse just because of how large the Wahl Deluxe is. However, in certain positions, like girl-on-top, this wand could still be utilized during intercourse.

The Wahl Deluxe is a wand massager made completely from plastic. The handle is plastic, and all of the attachments are plastic as well. Plastic is non-porous and body-safe. Plastic is also very smooth which means that it glides really nicely over the different parts of the body. Plastic also has no taste nor any smell. The Wahl Deluxe is extremely rigid and has no flexibility to any of the different pieces. This makes it great for massaging purposes since it will be firm on problem areas.

The texture is different depending on which one of the heads you use with your Wahl Deluxe. There are three different heads: a flat head, a head with three little subtle "pyramids" on top of it, and a head with a bunch of a hard cilia-looking pokers. At the high speed, the heads can barely be differentiated from one another. At the lower speed, it's much easier to tell. The flat head and the pyramid head seem to work best for genital use while the cilia-looking pokers worked best for all-around body use.

The textures included with the different heads work best with your texture preference. If you prefer more texture with your toy, the cilia-looking head works best. If you prefer little-to-no texture, the flat head works best.

Each one of the heads has two different materials. The top of the head is made from smooth plastic (silver portion). The red portion, lining the sides of each head, seems to be made from a silicone-like material that has a bit of drag to it. Each little head also has a differing texture around the outside red ring as well which can be spun on the skin during use for more interesting sensations.

The Wahl Deluxe Massager reminds me of an upgraded-looking Hitachi Wand. It's made completely of plastic, has a more colorful color scheme, and includes multiple heads for different uses. The Wahl Deluxe is a little under a foot long (about the length of my forearm), and each one of the heads is about four inches in diameter. This makes it shorter but wider than the Hitachi Wand. The Wand has a cord coming from the bottom of the toy that attaches to the cable to plug in the wand.

The head of the Wahl Deluxe was also made to bend. Where the little creases in the folds are between the shaft and the head is where the Wahl will bend. It's a very slight bend, and it doesn't hold the bend, but if a lot of pressure is applied, it will move slightly to make the angle more comfortable. When bent, the massager does not suffer from a loss of power.

The shaft is about the size of what would be comfortable for most adult human hands. It makes it easy to hold onto the shaft while still being able to use your thumb to adjust the strength control with no problem. The silver aspects of the shaft is made from very slick plastic while the red portions on the side seem to be more of a velvet-cote plastic which makes it easier to hold onto the shaft if hands are lubricated.

Switching the different heads is extremely easy. One head just twists slightly to the right then will pop off of the Wahl Deluxe Massager. Another head can easily be replaced. The entire process takes about two seconds and is frustration-free. The head has never popped off during use either, so it seems very securely attached.

The Wahl Deluxe Wand is powered by a charging cable. This cable uses a regular two-prong plug-in to plug into the wall - there is no adapter that will be hogging space on your outlet. The Wahl Deluxe Wand does not charge with the cord - it does require the cord for use, so you must be near an outlet to use the Wahl Deluxe. The cord is about six feet in length, so the cord doesn't feel too restraining.

The Wahl Deluxe, while powerful, is not stronger than the Hitachi. It is, however, about 2/3 of the power of the Hitachi will does still make it very strong. The Wahl Deluxe has two power settings - there is a low and a high setting. Most women will be satisfied with the low setting; the high setting may prove too powerful for most people. While it's not as powerful as the Hitachi, this massager is not weak. These vibrations are very strong. The button is on the front of the massager and is very easy to switch in the middle of use. It does require a bit of pressure, so most people won't have a problem with changing the settings during use.

The Wahl Deluxe does not have as deep and rumbly vibrations as the Hitachi does either. The low setting's vibrations are a lot more deep and rumbly while the high setting's vibrations, while still rumbly, end up crossing more into the territory of being more buzzy and surface-felt. If you were doing a deep tissue massage, I'd recommend the low setting more than the high one.

The Wahl Deluxe is loud. On the low setting, it sounds like most toys on loud. On the high setting, this could easily be heard through a door, and the sound resembles a kitchen blender. Even music or the television could not mask the sound of the high setting.

The Wahl Deluxe Wand is made completely from plastic. Since all of the heads are removable (and don't have any electronic parts in them), they are waterproof and can easily be washed under warm water and some antibacterial soap. The heads can also be placed in a bleach solution to sterilize them for use between partners. As you can imagine, the wand itself is not waterproof since it plugs in, but you should be able to clean the upper portion of the wand with a damp washcloth if need be.

The wand is plastic, and water-based, silicone-based, and oil-based lubricants will all work well with the toy. If used genitally, some of the attachments work best with lubricant, but if used on the body, the attachments seem to work just fine without any lubricant.

For storage, keep away from water. The box it comes in is a bit flimsy for long-term storage, but it still could be kept in there. Some people prefer keeping their wand underneath the bed or in a drawer. Since this wand is so long and has such large heads, most forms of traditional sex toy storage probably won't work with this wand.

The Wahl comes packaged in a regular cardboard box. The cardboard is pretty thin. The box looks like something you'd find on a Wal-Mart shelf, so it is extremely discrete. Since the cardboard is so thin, this box does not hold up well to weight being placed on top of it, so this box may not work best for storage. The inside of the box is divided into two halves - one half to hold the wand itself while the opposite half holds the removable heads and instruction booklets.

The instruction booklets are pretty basic. One is an instruction booklet while the other is the product registration card for your Wahl Deluxe. The registration also includes vague-ly phrased questions about how much you enjoyed your Wahl as well. As with other massagers, the instruction manual cautions against using this on the genitals as well as unconscious people.

Since the packaging for the Wahl Deluxe is so discreet, you can leave this out in plain sight without anyone thinking twice about it. The outside of the packaging just displays the product and features of the product. The packaging doesn't look very fancy, but it will work just fine for gift giving; there's nothing crass or tasteless on it.

The Wahl is a good massager. There are things I hate about it, but those things I hate are just traits of massagers. You don't purchase a massager looking for a small, easy-to-use and quiet toy. It's meant for the power which the Wahl Deluxe does excel at.
