Shunga oriental bath crystals - sensual bath by Shunga Erotic Art - review by Raggedy Andie

I am somewhat of a bath-product junkie so when I came across this stuff it was love at first sight. I think taking a bath should be about more than just getting into some hot water, getting clean and then getting out again. I like to try and provoke most of my senses when I have a hot one so these bath salts looked perfect and (oh my!) they smell divine to boot. Shunga oriental bath crystals are great for relaxing with their deep blue colour and heavy scent. Whether alone or with a partner, these salts are sure to please more than just the sense of touch. Exotically enticing, this stuff leaves your skin so soft, no one will be able to resist touching you! The only precaution I foresee is for those who have problems with heavily perfumed items as this stuff is just that, it is quite strongly perfumed. More so when you open the container.

Ingredients are: Sodium chloride, Sodium lauryl sulfate, Sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, Fragrance, Glycerin, Carthamus tinctorius, Prunus dulcis.

The salts themselves are relatively fine as far as bath salts go. The salts come with a cute little shell to use for a scoop! I find it's very easy to use, just scoop and pour into your bath. They dissolve very quickly in the running water and boy is it ever blue! I love how it reminds me of ocean water. It's very soothing. The water feels very soft, silky and slightly slick.

The smell is quite strong, especially coming out of the can when you first open it. I think that's a good thing however as it means the product is quite concentrated and that is what I want. I don't want a product that I have to use a tonne of just to get a good amount of scent. The scent I have is Aphrodisia and it's soapy-floral. Once you get it into the bath it's not as strong as when you initially opened the can but it holds it's own in there. I absolutely LOVE the scent, I can get lost in it, it's that nice.

I remember being worried it would stain my tub badly when I put it in the first time but I was pleasantly surprised when it didn't after I drained the tub. I usually add two shell scoops, sometimes three. The water is very soft and the product bubbles up a bit. After I get out of the bath I just pat dry with a towel and I don't notice any stickiness nor greasiness, just soft, silky ready-to-be-touched skin! I have had the same container for four years now and it still smells just as strong as it did when I first got it. I suppose I have been hoarding it as I love it so much and until I joined this site, I didn't know where to get it at a fair price. What I love about this product is the can it comes in. It's very tightly sealed like a paint can so moisture has never been an issue and my salts have never clumped. It comes with a ribbon that you use to pull open the lid so it's very easy to open as well. The one thing I didn't find all that useful was the floating candle that came with it. It's scented nicely like the rest of the salts but there is only one and I don't put burning things in a bath with me, just around the tub.

It's a rather large can so I would say it's not suitable for travel. Mind you, you could always scoop some out into a ziplock and voila! You have some ready for a bath wherever you are going.
Initially it comes in a baggy with a twist tie and you get 1.5 lbs of the lovely salts. I just put the baggy into the can and sealed it up. Instructions for use are on the can itself.
