I have issues with many perfumes and lotions being too strong and inducing a doozy of a headache. The hi-light by cake was one lotion that was light and long lasting that did not require a bath and double dose of aspirin after applying! For this I am happy. The smell and soft skin is just more icing on the cake!

The hi-light would make a perfect gift for a teenager, young woman, mew mom or any other woman who loves light and sweet smelling aromas--with a shimmery bonus. The packaging is perfect fro anyone of all ages and there is nothing sexual or adult related on this item.

Open the push top on the lid, shake the lotion down and squeeze gently. The hi-light comes out of the dispenser as a soft pink, lightly shimmery, thick and sweet smelling lotion that stays put until you rub it into your skin.

It does not take very much lotion to moisturize and add shine to your body, but it is slick feeling. This makes it very easy to apply, allows it to glide over your skin before soaking in and feels light. If you apply too much like I did the first time I used this, you will be very moist and shiny--wait for about 3-5 minutes before trying to dress. Trust me-I dressed myself twice! It is much easier and safer for your clothes, if you just apply a small bit at a time. You can always add more.

This lotion comes easily off your hands, removing all the shimmery mica as well. Pink mica is the element that makes up the shimmer. It is translucent, very minute but also abundant. I read that others had issues with it sloughing off onto their clothing or bedding, but mine stayed put very well. I did lose a small amount to clothing and bedding but not anything noticeable.

The aroma is very sweet, light and long lasting. When I first apply the lotion, the hazelnut scent is very reminiscent of homemade waffle cones in an ice cream shop or hazelnut creamer. The longer it is on your skin, the hazelnut aroma scent is still prevalent but the vanilla tones come through. It ends up smelling like a sweet, exotic wedding cake or vanilla ice cream with hazelnut syrup. The smell is light, pleasant and lasts for hours.

Unfortunately, the taste does not match the delicious aroma!! So much for sexy, trailing kisses from my husband afterwards. Of course, I had to take a small taste of the back of my hand just to double-check, and NO, this is not a good tasting lotion at all!!

The aroma lasts for about 5-6 hours before gently fading away. It is very light and is only noticed by someone who is within a foot away. I do wish there was a body spray to go with this, the layering would be wonderful!

My skin felt very soft and moisturized all day long and lasted into the evening. I did need more lotion on my arms and chest area, where the sun was able to dry my skin out during the day. After reapplying once, I was soft and moisturized for the rest of the evening. I think that with this lotion I need to completely moisturize to get the long lasting effects.

I noticed the shimmer was still on my skin the next morning, however, it was a bit thin by then. I looked on the blankets to see how much shimmer was on them and to my surprise, it was minimal and very, very sparse. Where the rest of the shimmer went, I am not sure, but I was happy that my blankets did not end up all glittery.
