Curve Appeal

The Hipster by Liberator is a sex positional aid that combines the curviness of the Esse with the portability of the ramp/wedge combo. Its visually appealing curves provide lots of possibilities. Doggie style is particularly well suited on the Hipster. It is also very friendly on joints and backs.

Use

The Hipster is a positional aid designed for couples. It can be used in a variety of ways to enhance lovemaking. It can help to create just the right angle for an amazing encounter. It is also very comfortable and can reduce stress on joints and back.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material

The Hipster is 24 inches wide and 33 inches long and features two prominent curves. The highest end is 10 inches. That slopes down and rises up again to 5 inches. Like all Liberator products, the Hipster has an outside cover of washable microfiber material. The microfiber is very soft and sensuous and feels great on skin. The cover conveniently unzips for easy laundering. Stains can also simply be wiped off with baby wet wipes in between washes. Inside the cover is a zippered, waterproof, polyester cover. This protects the foam from any damage. Beneath the second cover is the polyurethane foam. This gives the Hipster its shape. It is firm, supportive, and crush resistant. It holds up very well under weight. My husband and I have a combined weight just shy of 400 pounds. The Hipster holds up even when we are both on it. Unlike regular pillows or wadded up blankets, this holds it shape and provides consistent support. It doesn't slip and slide on the bed, but stays exactly where placed. It can be used on the bed, at the edge of the bed, or on the floor. While large, it is still portable enough to take on romantic getaways.

Performance

We are very pleased with what this can do. While positioned bottoms up over the larger curve, breasts, hands, and head can rest comfortably on the soft material. The curve provides an excellent angle for all the action behind. It can be used on the bed, floor, or at the edge of the bed. This can also be flipped the opposite way so both the female and males kneels on the lower end. My husband, who has frequent lower back pain, found that placing his knees on the lower end of the Hipster released the stress on his back. Thus, he could perform longer. That's a definite plus for us. We use it for doggie style about 85% of the time. It can also be used for missionary, oral, and woman-on-top. My husband and I really love this piece. It is comfortable for both of us and provides a wonderful angle for penetration. We are very happy that it helped to reduce strain in my husband's lower back.

Packaging

The package arrived in a very large discreet brown box. Inside, the Hipster was wrapped in plastic and ready for use. A book with suggested positions for this and other Liberator products was included.

Care and Maintenance

The Hipster is easy to care for. Just unzip and wash the outside cover. However it does like lint. Because of its size you will need some serious storage room for this baby. We keep ours behind a dresser that is pulled out from the wall.

Personal comments

We have several of the Liberator shapes. We have found the Hipster to be the best for doggy style sex, but the ramp/wedge combo is the most versatile of the shapes. Fans of doggie should give this a try.
Follow-up commentary
I am still in love with my Hipster. It is soft and comfortable, and has held up very well for us. There is still no sign of wear and tear, and it is always ready for us.

Liberator also sells a Black Label Hipster that has a built in restrain system. EF doesn't carry them, but I was able to purchase a conversion kit for my Hipster through Liberator directly. Now we can enjoy our red cover or the kinkier black cover with cuffs. That has made a great thing even better.

      The Hipster, the Wedge, the Ramp, the Jaz, and the Axis Hitachi are all great. The heart wedge is pretty, but check the dimensions. It is a bit on the narrow size and your hips/cheeks may hang/fall off or at least be uncomfortable.
    • I am leaning towards the hipster right now, although the price is a little daunting! I'll have to think about it, but I really want to give it a try! Are they worth the price?

      I really wish that they would. I plan to purchase a Liberator Black Label ramp+wedge combo and possibly more B.L. products, but Eden doesn't seem to carry them. I'm really torn because I trust Eden and would love to buy these products through the site, especially since this is where I first discovered Liberator products. Unfortunately, there is no way I am compromising and buying the regular series, nor am I willing to waste nearly $100 buying the original set + conversion kit here. I will be getting the Black Label set, it's just a matter of where I end up buying it. :@
