Wet Synergy - lubricant by Wet Lubricants - review by ~LaUr3n~

WET Lubricants has made a very interesting hybrid lubricant with their WET Synergy product. It is three times concentrated and originally is a thick gel that cushions and then turns into a liquid as it is used. It is both water and silicone based so it is easier to clean up but lasts a lot longer than other WET products (this is specifically stated on the back of the package!). So, no, this doesn't last as long as many lubes I have tried, but I do like it for a few specific reasons. The gel to liquid is ingenious! It has no smell and only a slight bitter taste. If you are looking for a lubricant that will stay put till you want to get to business, this is an excellent choice. It is even decent for anal. It is also a great price for the amount you get, if you get the large bottle.

The ingredients are as follows:

Glycerin, Deionized Water, Dimethiconol, Sodium, Polyacrylate, Demethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Trideceth-6, PEG/PPG, Pentylene Glycol

Note that is does contain glycerin which can cause yeast infections or UTIs in some women. I had no irritation or problems from using this lubricant.

Like the description says, this really starts out as a VERY thick gel. I had a hard time getting it to squirt out at first. It is even thicker than shampoo. It will stay this way as you start to rub it around. the ingenious part of this is that the lubricant REALLY stays where you put it until you are absolutely ready. As it heats up with friction is turns into a silkier liquid. It is a hybrid lubricant which means that it is both water and silicone based. To me, it feels more water based, especially in the goopy form. As it thins out, it does have a silicone like silkiness to it, but eventually returns to feeling more water like. However, it doesn't exactly clean up like water based lubes. After use it will start to feel grimy and requires soap for removal. it takes a while to get to this point, however.

There is no smell to this lubricant that I could detect. It does have a taste, though. It tastes bitter even though it claims to be unflavored and unscented. I would wash this lubricant off if you'd like to perform oral in the middle of your sex session, or at the end.

This lubricant is a fairly good all purpose lubricant.

VAGINAL SEX:

I really love how this stuff only goes where you want it. I use a drop about the size of a Gobstopper and apply it to opening of my sweet spot and then I apply an even smaller amount to my partner. This is plenty to last for a sex session over twenty minutes long. After that, it requires reapplication. If you are not already well naturally lubricated, this time frame is smaller. It blends into natural juices really well and that extends the life of this lubricant. Even when it turns to a liquid, it stays put and doesn't create a mess, so it is good for positions changes. It is also condom safe and can be used inside and outside of a condom.

VAGINAL TOYS:

Again, the goop aspect of this works wonderfully. I hate when I drip lubricant onto the tip of a toy and it is already ripping onto my fingers before I have time to put the lubricant down and insert it. It works well with all types of materials (jelly, TPR, glass, and metal are what I have used it with so far), except silicone. It may eat silicone materials and gum them up. It washes off easily with soap and water.

ANAL TOYS/SEX:

Honestly, this lubricant is not half bad for anal toys or sex. because of its goopy nature it works really well for initial insertion. It is best for toys that stay in, like plugs. It helps them get in, but doesn't give them extra slickness to slide out like an 100% silicone lubricant can sometimes do. For sex, it works best for slower more intimate anal. If you want to have a fast pounding session of anal, I'd look elsewhere.

The bottle comes in two sizes: a 1.9 fluid ounce and a 7 fluid ounce bottle. I first got this as a free sample from the WET website (go get some!), liked it, and ended up buying the 1.9 ounce sized bottle. Both are reasonably priced, even more so for the larger bottle. Just like the other sample I tried, this sample and the bottle I received expire in 2015 which is a really good shelf life. You shouldn't have a problem using all of it before it expires.

The smaller, 1.9 ounce bottle is the perfect size for traveling or even tucking in a medium sized purse. It is about the size of most travel hygiene products. It is 5" tall and about 1 1/4" wide. The bottle is plastic and has a push to open top. The black plastic has a slight shimmer to it. It is also fairly discreet and has a black label that fades to pink. The front says Synergy, Concentrated, 3 X Longer Lasting. The word lubricant is in very small lettering. It has safety instructions for use and storing in a few different languages. It also lists the ingredients.

I love the gel to liquid aspect of this lubricant, but it is not my favorite for longer session of toy or sex play. But for an all purpose lubricant, it is pretty good. It is excellent for times when you don't have the extra time to be careful when placing your lubricant, but it does require clean up. I love that it doesn't have a scent, but since my partner and I like to give oral periodically, it's not the best for that either. It is totally worth a try, though! The silkiness is great and aids in insertion for toy and sex.
