Just what I needed

Tame enough for drugstores, but good enough for adult stores. It lasts just enough time and doesn't leave behind a sticky mess.
Published: January 4, 2009
Pros:
Not sticky, inexpensive, gets the job done.
Cons:
Might be boring for more experienced people. Would prefer that it came in a pump bottle.

Even though my boyfriend thoroughly enjoys getting blow jobs, he does not always come from them so I sometimes finish him off manually. This is the first lube I've been pleased with. It gets a little sticky, but I don't feel like I have an extra layer of skin on my hands when all is said and done. What's left behind is a tolerable, light residue. We do not have intercourse often because of issues on my end (it always feels like he's hitting a wall, or something inside me is being pushed) so I'm not sure how it works during intercourse. But it has been great for manual things and toy use.

I bought Wet Gel a week ago, and so far I have had great luck with it. I first tried it with a ribbed dildo I had recently bought, and I had a much easier time using it. I first used some of the lube on myself to get wet, and then put some on the covered toy before I used it. The lube made penetration much easier, it hurt a little bit but felt wayyyy better than previously, and it lasted for just enough time. I imagine that using some on myself before hand helped me out.

I visited my boyfriend last week and used it on him for the first time. As I said before, I was very pleased at how long it lasted on him, and that I didn't feel like I had extra skin (or penis, however you want to look at it) all over my hands. When we were done he even commented that it seemed to last longer, that I wasn't always having to get more lube every two minutes or so. Even when it did start to dry out, I was able to get enough out of the little bit that was left behind.

Comparing it to other lubes- when we first got together we used KY Mist spray, it was accessible and I liked the spray function. However, it went from being a mist to being thick and goopy after a while, which kept it from spraying properly. One day in the middle of the action I sprayed some into my hand, and some of jumped up into my eye. Ouch. End sexy time Sad face
It'd be nice if Wet came in a pump or spray bottle, but the bottle has grooves in it so it fits well in your hand and the gel comes out easily.

Astroglide felt nice, but it seemed to dry up in less than five minutes and left me with an extra layer of skin. Slimy, gross skin at that.

Overall it's definitely worth your money. It isn't fancy, but everyone goes home happy at the end of the day.
Follow-up commentary
I have started seeing a new guy recently, and we used this lube for intercourse. We've had a great time with it, adding it to a warming, lightly lubricated condom feels great for both of us!
We spent most of Saturday evening this past weekend getting it on (TMI?) and we did have to reapply it once or twice, but not every time that we were doing it. Overall I think it's still a pretty solid lube. I'm sure there are better ones out there that last a bit longer, but this one does the trick and is a good one to have around.

Thanks for the comparison with other lubes! Btw, silicone lube works crazy-good for handjobs.

Does it wash off easier than KY products? Good that you found a lube you like Maximus seems to have a devoted following of lube afficionados! Still when you find a lube that works it is a wonderful day! LOL
Nice review!

  • Anyone else?
    • I have been using ID pleasure for years. I tried WET and it seemed to be a bit more watered down to me. Not a bad thing just not my thing.
Anyonee lse have this going for you too?
    • I used to hate Wet products, they came off as cheap.
Until I tried their synergy line. I fell in love with both the original, and the tingle lubricant.

The Synergy is water and silicone mixed, which produces a gel. I hate water down lubricants.
As long as you don't use it with silicone toys, its fine.
    • I used to feel the same way about wet

  • Why not the same looking containers for this product?
    • Why is the 3.5, the 4.8, and the 10 oz bottles of this lubricant sold in cool looking bottles, while the 0.8 amount and the 1.5 sold in smaller, weirder shapes? Why not miniatures of the cooler versions? Why a toothpaste looking bottle and a hand sanitizer looking bottle? Comments? Agreements?

I'd assume that's just the bottles that the manufacturers felt were best for their item. Certain sizes will do better certain ways because of how they have to flex to squeeze the lube out.

Personally I don't care either way for stuff like this, none of the bottles are something I would want to display and the ease of use on all of them seems about the same, so it's not going to make a difference to me between the options.

At the size of the bottles for those smaller ones, the "neat" bottle wouldn't work. The little "handle hold" on the side of the bottle would actually be the entire length of the bottle. There just isn't enough product to warrant making the bigger bottle. However, if you contact Wet Lubricants, they always take suggestions well and could explain it further.
