Keep Things Moist!

If you're looking for an inexpensive lubricant that will last, than look no further than Moist Personal Lubricant by Pipedream. This will last you through a lengthy session and can easily be reactivated on the skin with a little bit of water if it starts to dry. Use

Moist Personal Lubricant by Pipedream can be used by partners or for solo play. This lubricant is water-based, so you can use it safely on all toys, and not have to worry about adverse effects on any material. It can be used by men and women alike for solo play, as well as for intercourse whether vaginally or anally. A little bit of this lubricant goes a long way, so even with the small 2 ounce bottle this comes in, it's more than enough to last a long time. While there aren't a lot of ingredients in this lubricant, it does contain glycerin and parabens.

The lubricant has the following ingredients: Aloe vera, Nettle extract, rosemary extract, balm mint extract, ginseng extract, water, glycerin, hydroxyethyl, ethylcellulose, diazolidinyl urea, carbopol, sodium benzoate, methylparaben, PEG 6-32, triethanolamine, nonylphenol, citric acid

Those with allergies to any of the plant-based derivatives need to watch out as well, and remember to read the ingredients lists. People with allergies to glycerin should note that this lubricant contains it. While being allergic to glycerin is actually rare, it can occur. A person with glycerin allergies can suffer from skin conditions such as dermatitis, which can cause redness, itching and burning. More severe reactions include dizziness, nausea, swelling of the tongue or face, diarrhea and shortness of breath. People with glycerin allergies may also suffer from multiple chemical sensitivities, so remember to check your ingredients.

This lubricant also contains parabens. Parabens have been linked to breast cancer, though it has not been scientifically proven and no direct evidence has been shown. Parabens can, however, cause skin irritation and contact dermatitis and rosacea in individuals with paraben allergies, which is a small percentage of the general population.

While you can use this lubricant for anal use, there are better lubricants for such play, and I encourage you to look into those specifically designed for such. I do not suggest this for oral as there are flavored lubricants for it.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

This is a clear, fairly thin lubricant. When applied on a fingertip it runs down, but slower than some of the other water-based lubricants. When rubbed between the fingertips, it has a slick and smooth feeling, and there isn't any drag even with only a tiny bit of lubricant applied. As it dries, this lubricant leaves the skin feeling velvety and soft rather than sticky or greasy. When it is first applied, it will have a cool, water-like refreshing feeling, and as you use it, it warms to your body temperature and the friction of your movements.

This lubricant is quite thin, and because it is water-based will not stand up in the shower as silicone lubricants will. A little bit of water is okay if you want to reactivate this lubricant, but a lot of water will simply wash it away. Though this is a thin lubricant, it lasts a while, so reapplication isn't necessary, as this should last throughout a session of 20-25 minutes before drying up. If it does begin to dry, it only needs a little bit of water to become slippery again.

Taste / Aroma

While this lubricant is virtually unscented on the skin, if you open the bottle and take a whiff of the product, you will in fact notice a smell. The scent of this lubricant is interesting, in the fact that you can detect the rosemary extract and the balm mint extract if holding it closely to your nose. It has a very clean and crisp scent which isn't overwhelming on the senses. You cannot smell this lubricant at all when it is applied to the skin. Users with sensitivities toward potent smells will not have to worry about this lubricant being overpowering to their senses.

While this lubricant is not meant for oral, I did taste it for the purpose of this review. It has a very strong taste, and you can detect the flavor of the balm mint and the rosemary mixed together. However, it doesn't taste like those two things, but rather tastes like I just ingested a type of medicinal cough syrup. It left a strange feeling on my tongue, and I would not recommend you ingest this. While it was slightly sweet, the other extracts made this lubricant have a pungent sort of flavor.

Performance

I used this one my silicone toys for solo play, and it felt nice and natural when I used it. Though it was cool when it was first applied, this left me nice and moist for a whole session of play, and didn't need to be reapplied. It only took about a quarter sized amount for wetness, and this 2 ounce bottle will go a long way if you're using the amount I did. It felt nice on the skin and kept things slick, even with the friction between the toy and myself, making for a fun and easy playtime without having to stop and reapply.

As it dries, this lubricant absorbs nicely into the skin, and leaves it feeling velvety and moisturized. At no point did this lubricant get sticky on my skin, and the fact that it was long lasting made this lubricant even better. Because it's water-based, I can use it with all of my toys without fear of it interacting with the materials, and it can be used for anal play as well. Another great thing about this lubricant is how easily it rinses off. It can be washed off with a simple rinse of soapy water if you don't feel comfortable leaving the lubricant on your skin, but most of it will absorb.

This is a very natural feeling lubricant, and I recommend it for its performance alone.
    • Absorbs into skin nicely
    • Allergy concerns
    • Feels natural

Packaging

Moist Personal Lubricant by Pipedream comes in a clear plastic bottle. This bottle has a pump, rather than a pop-top lid like some other lubricants. The pump has a clear cover to go over it when you're not using it. The pump itself has a small round nozzle on it where the lubricant comes out. You can control the amount of lubricant easily depending on how much you push the pump down.

The bottle itself is not very discreet, as it has the word moist in big lettering on the front, and has little droplets of what looks like moisture down the front. It also states on the bottle that it is a personal lubricant, so I wouldn't recommend leaving this out if you don't want anyone knowing you have lubricant. Attached to the bottle was a tag, which inside read, "Use MOIST for a silky smooth encounter that will thrill and delight. Its unscented, water based formula won't get in the way of your pleasures. Crystal clear, nonstaining and ease of removal assures you that this is the ultimate in personal lubricants and can be used in full confidence.". This tag also had the ingredients list, and stated that it was made in the USA.

Since the bottle is so small it can be suitable for travel as it fits in a purse or in luggage easily, and can be hidden due to its small size. If you don't want anyone knowing that it's lubricant, the label can be scratched off easily. This bottle does not have a sticker, rather the label is printed on the bottle, and can only be scratched, not peeled off. If you have to reapply this for longer sessions, you can easily use the pump with one hand, but I recommend leaving the cap off of the pump when in use, as it's a little harder to remove. This bottle, if dropped will not leak either, so there's no worry of it spilling anywhere even with the cap to the pump removed.

If you want, this bottle can be recycled as well, and is very minimal.
    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Does not leak
    • Easy to use / dispense
Follow-up commentary
There are better lubricant products on the market, and while this one did the job, I found more body-safe products out there, and have experimented with those as well. This brand of lubricant isn't of any use to me anymore.

Not a lube I'll be stocking up on, since it has glycerin. Though, thank you for the helpful review!
