Not what I would call a gel, but not bad
Wet Gel is a great lube for those not wanting to make a large investment and who need just a little something extra. It is compatible with condoms, and just about any toy you can think of. However, it may not hold up for extended sessions of play without multiple reapplications, and I personally wouldn't recommend it for anal, because you don't want that area drying out during sex.Published: June 28, 2010
Pros:
Non-staining, water based, tasteless, odorless, affordable.
Cons:
Runny, contains glycerin, dries quickly.
Did you ever need something RIGHT AWAY and end up running into the closest store and buying whatever they had? That's how I ended up with Wet Gel Lubricant. We weren't at home and had no lube with us so I headed to the nearest 'big box' store and chose the 3.5 oz. bottle of this, as my only other option was good ol' fashioned KY.
Wet Gel Lube is a water-based, non-staining, all-purpose lube. It is compatible with any toy you want to try it on, in addition to condoms. It does, however, contain glycerin which some women react badly to, so keep that in mind if you've had problems with that ingredient before! It's packaged in a cylindrical tube with a flip-top and fairly descriptive and informative labeling. The container really isn't easily squeeze-able, but the product comes out when the bottle is turned upside down without a problem. This product also comes in several sizes of bottles, making it ideal for travel or carrying in a purse or even a pocket.
My biggest issue with this product is that it's labeled as a 'gel' but has a far runnier consistency than I expected it to have. It is much thinner than Maximus or KY Jelly, and about the same consistency as the Wet Body Glide products. When applied to a finger or a toy, it will very quickly run down the side and onto whatever lies beneath. It has no real stay-put to it. Luckily, as I mentioned earlier, it does not stain.
My only other complaint is that of most water-based lubes. It dries up and becomes sticky very easily. I would say one application didn't make it much past 5-10 minutes of play. If you're looking for staying power, go with something more substantial like Maximus or one of the silicone lubes.
This lube was originally purchased for quick anal play, but can be and has been used for far more since. What makes it great is that if you're not sure what kind(s) of sex you'll be having or toys you'll be using, this lube is compatible with just about anything. It can go on silicone, plastic, jelly, glass, or any other material toys. I've used it for vaginal sex and it works well for a short period before drying out. It's not quite the same as natural lubrication, but not far off either.
It has worked well with all my toys, those used for clit stimulation and vaginal penetration, equally. It also works well for skin on skin (hand-job or masturbation) purposes, and for oral sex if needed/wanted. It has no smell and a very very mild taste that I can't put my finger on, but I wouldn't consider it unpleasant. It also washes off very easily from skin and toys and leaves no icky or hard to clean residue behind but this does make it inadequate for shower or tub sex, because it will disappear quickly.
The only time I'm a little leery of using it is for anal penetration and that's just because that area can get very delicate very quickly should a lube dry out on you, which this one will do. Over time I've found this is the lube I reach for if I need just a little extra lubrication, as opposed to situations where none is present to begin with.

Experience
I've tried this lube with most of my toys and various types of sex. It has worked well with all toy materials and adds a little extra slickness when not enough is present naturally.
Follow-up commentary
4 months after original review
I do still like this lube and am comfortable traveling with it because it's compatible with everything and the cap closes so tightly. There are definitely better products on the market, and even in my bedroom, but this isn't a bad option if you're looking for easy to use and affordable.

Anyone else?

I have been using ID pleasure for years. I tried WET and it seemed to be a bit more watered down to me. Not a bad thing just not my thing.
Anyonee lse have this going for you too? -
I used to hate Wet products, they came off as cheap.
Until I tried their synergy line. I fell in love with both the original, and the tingle lubricant.
The Synergy is water and silicone mixed, which produces a gel. I hate water down lubricants.
As long as you don't use it with silicone toys, its fine. -
I used to feel the same way about wet

Why not the same looking containers for this product?
-
Why is the 3.5, the 4.8, and the 10 oz bottles of this lubricant sold in cool looking bottles, while the 0.8 amount and the 1.5 sold in smaller, weirder shapes? Why not miniatures of the cooler versions? Why a toothpaste looking bottle and a hand sanitizer looking bottle? Comments? Agreements?

Agreements?I'd assume that's just the bottles that the manufacturers felt were best for their item. Certain sizes will do better certain ways because of how they have to flex to squeeze the lube out.
Personally I don't care either way for stuff like this, none of the bottles are something I would want to display and the ease of use on all of them seems about the same, so it's not going to make a difference to me between the options. -

Agreements? At the size of the bottles for those smaller ones, the "neat" bottle wouldn't work. The little "handle hold" on the side of the bottle would actually be the entire length of the bottle. There just isn't enough product to warrant making the bigger bottle. However, if you contact Wet Lubricants, they always take suggestions well and could explain it further.
