A Sexy & Sparkly Cincher
At first, I thought this might be a bit too much glitz and glam for me. I mean...so many sequins! However, once I put it on, it just looked too cute. Granted, not everyone will love the sequins. And that much sparkle isn't always desired, but it gives such a lovely shape! First off, let me start by apologizing for not adding photos! I would love to, but my camera is not working at the moment.
When I first saw this corset on EF I wasn't sure how I felt about it, specifically about all the sequins. I love a bit of flashiness every now and then, but I wasn't sure about a fully-sequined corset. A bit too much, perhaps? Then I found myself going back to the product page a few times. I started to like it more and more. Granted, I wasn't sure where I would wear it, but I started to like the look. Very burlesque, very cabaret. I can't help but think of the movie Cabaret every time I look at it. If you are involved in performance art/theater/dance, this would be a great little item to own. If you just want something different to wear out to a club or a concert, this is perfect. Or if you just want something a little bit sparkly to wear with some stockings and a sexy bra, this is the piece for you!
This corset comes with 6 detachable garters, which really adds to it for me. They did not come attached, they came in a small plastic bag with the corset. I have yet to try it on with stockings, but I am sure it will work fabulously with them when I do. The garters are adjustable and removable, so that is a plus.
I LOVE the lacing on the back of this, it doesn't just lace from the top to the bottom, or the bottom to the top. It has laces that go from the top to the middle, and then another set of laces from the bottom to the middle. The two sets of laces meet up perfectly, and make an adorable bow when ties together. The thing I love about these two sets of laces is that it really helps pull this cincher in and give you a perfectly form-fitted hourglass shape. It's really great, I love the way the lacing is done. Or course, if you don't like the laces for whatever reason, you could always take them out and replace them with some sort of ribbon that you prefer, but I don't think I would ever want to do that, I love the lacing exactly as it is.
I would say it is true to size: I bought an L. I typically wear a large in any sort of top. I have a 38" bust and 32" waist with very wide hips. This fits so well, with plenty of room for loosening or tightening the lacing, in case I were to loose or gain a bit of weight. You can wear this over a shirt, with a bra, with nothing else at all! It looks so cute and fun. The sequins are maybe a bit glitzy for some, and I would definitely love if this same cincher was available in plain solid black. Sequins aren't exactly appropriate for every occasion, but a plain black corset can dress up just about an outfit!
One thing that I should say is that the hooks on the front may be a difficult to get undone quickly. Which I could see being a problem, if you are in a situation where you're trying to tear off your clothing as fast as you can. This corset is certainly fine to wear during sex, but if you want to take it off, it might be easier (and more fun) to teasingly take it off hook by hook, as slowly and seductively as you can. Making it even better for burlesque dancers!

I wasn't sure really where to wear this out, but I didn't like it a lot. Then I ended up wearing it recently when I was trying to pull together a fun, exciting outfit to wear to a big event at a nightclub. I put it on that morning and wore all day, including in the car for 4 hours on the way to the event.
My friend went with me and was very excited that I brought this corset and was going to wear it finally, since she thought it was cute. Before we left she laced up my corset for me. She said two things that I should mention, the first being a slightly disappointed "Ahh...it has ribbon lacing..." and the second being "Does this thing have plastic boning?" Mind you, she makes corsets and clothing and she knows a good corset when she sees one. The boning does seem like it might be plasticy, I will admit. She said because of the boning she would personally be tempted to cut it up and re-purpose it as something else, but again, she is a seamstress/costume designer.
Also, the front where the hips are sort of flips out a bit and not amount of tightening will make it flatten out. Regardless, this is still a decent fitting piece. I have found a few thing about it that I wish were better or slightly different, but I like it overall as a fun piece to wear going out for a night.

Hey all. Does anyone know if Eden's planning to restock this in the medium? I might be able to get a large to work, but I think a medium would work better in terms of it actually working out as a waist cincher/corset type thing.

I would think so. It's gotten good reviews so far and has received a lot of attention, and Coquette stuff tends to sell well. Additionally, the Coquette lingerie tends to be restocked pretty quickly, probably because they're good sellers. Did you set an alert for the item? sktb0007, yes, maybe I can add some photos to my follow-up review. I don't know what top to wear it with. I wish I had a plain white blouse, that might look good. So far, I've just tried it on with some of my other lingerie pieces. I tried it on with {this chemise] and I actually thought they went well together. I though the lacing up the back really highlighted the ruffles on the bum in a cute way.
