Silken bra and panty garter - bra and panty set discontinued by DreamGirl - review by Geogeo

This Dreamgirl set, which is available in sizes S, M, L, XL (no plus sizes), comes with a bra and panty garter made of stretch satin and stretch mesh with spandex. Both pieces advise to hand wash in cold water and line dry. It arrived by courier in an unmarked brown box, filled with brown paper. It was on a plastic hanger in a clear plastic bag.



I'm reviewing a medium. Here are my approximate measurements:

Bust 34 A/B (35 inches across)
Band: 31 inches
Ass: 40 inches
Hips 42 inches




The Bra: While the cups are opaque satin and cover the breasts well, the band is mesh. It is unpadded with an underwire. It's a beautiful plum in color with black contrast eyelash lace trim. It has a hook and eye back closure. The straps aren't removable, but they are adjustable. It is 92% nylon and 8% spandex.



Experience: I expected the lace at the top of the cups to get itchy or tickle my skin, but after wearing it for a full day; I can say that it didn't bother me at all. I wouldn't recommend a size medium if you are any bigger than a B, as my breasts fit perfectly (and I'm on the small size of B, often an A.) Any larger seems like they would just pop out as the bra isn't too structured. However, the band has a considerable amount of stretch to it on me and could comfortably fit a 36-38B. I'm used to very structured and padded bras so wearing this out without much support made me a little self-conscious. However, the girls were kept in place the whole day.

The Panty Garter: The underwear is also plum, opaque silk material in the front with mesh panels/butt, black contrast eyelash lace trim in the front. The butt crack area has some ruching type thing going on. There's a cotton liner. The underwear is also a garter, but the black straps are removable as well as adjustable. The product page claims the underwear is a boyshorts style but it's more like a full underwear/granny panty almost. The material is made up of 90% polyester and 10% spandex.



Experience: As you'll see from the pictures this panty garter was a bit tight on my disproportionately large butt. Although it fit, the elastics were uncomfortably cutting into my skin and made my bum look huge! I just didn't think it was flattering on me at all. It would be best for someone with a butt/hip size smaller than mine (36-38).

I'm sure I'll be wearing the bra again, but I doubt I'll wear the panty garter.

Though I never liked the unflattering underwear/garter, I thought the bra was going to be a good piece to have for a long time. Although it's pretty, I just haven't found myself wearing very often at all. I guess I like my bras to be more practical for a daily basis and this one just doesn't give me the support I need to feel particularly comfortable wearing it. I may, however, be biased because I do have a love of padded bras.
