G-spot rabbit vibrator discontinued

Classic? Yes. Platinum? Not So Much.

CEN hasn't changed much with their "platinum" edition of the Butterfly Kiss, probably because it did so well in the first place. If you're a fan of this design, Butterfly Kiss might flutter right into your heart (among other places). I would definitely recommend this to anyone over similar jelly toys because it is a material upgrade (at long as it is as a comparable price) and it should work well for beginners, too. Experienced players might want to look elsewhere.
Published:
Pros
Strong for its power source, acceptably quiet, multiple functions, easy to use.
Cons
Sticky TPR material, might be too soft or smart for some, no master off button.

Use

The platinum edition of the Butterfly Kiss vibrator is designed to stimulate both the clitoris and G-spot simultaneously. Because it is waterproof, it would be ideal for playtime in the shower but it works just as well on dry land. It's modest size makes it ideal for those who are inexperienced or nervous but size and strength queens should probably look elsewhere, however.

Material / Texture

The Butterfly Kiss Platinum Edition is sheathed in a soft TPR as opposed to the more porous jelly of the original. Initially, I had expected this little vibrator might be made with platinum silicone because of the name but I was wrong. The insertable portion of this toy is smooth and slightly tacky or sticky as TPR can be. If you are a fan of firmer insertables, then this vibrator may not be the one for you. The soft material, combined with the narrow neck offer perhaps too much flexibility which can be a hindrance in properly stimulating the G-spot as well as insertion.

The clitoral stimulator is fashioned with free moving wings and antennas. When it is turned on, these appendages can move quite wildly and would work well for someone who likes a lighter touch. The abdomen area of the butterfly also has several textured ridges which I did not particularly feel during use.

The TPR extends over the handle and here are embossed hearts. This can help with gripping; however, this portion of the Buttery Kiss does not serve as additional stimulation because it is neither inserted nor held against the body. At this point, the TPR is covering hard plastic so it is not as floppy at the shaft.

Below the handle is a silver ring and then the battery cap, both made of hard plastic.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Butterfly Kiss is one that I would consider a classic. In fact, I have even previously owned a similar vibrator (although it was not cordless like this one). This toy consists of a short (3 1/2" insertable) and narrow shaft with a bulbous end. Because the head tapers to a slight point, the overall appearance of the shaft is reminiscent of a scorpion's tail. Even though the heard is slightly enlarged, it is still modestly sized with a diameter of only 1 1/8". The majority of the shaft, however, only has a diameter of 4/5". Because of its size, I would feel comfortable recommending the Butterfly Kiss to toy newbies. The downside of this is that the thin, straight shaft will likely miss some G-spots, unless the bulbous head lands exactly upon yours.

In addition to this, there is a butterfly shaped clitoral stimulator at the base of the shaft. The butterfly extends about 1 3/4" away from the shaft so it may not fit all anatomies, especially if your clit is a little further away from your vaginal entrance. However, the TPR is pliable enough that the shaft can be curved around the pubic bone to the butterfly can meet the clit while still allowing shallow insertion. Of course, used in this manner, the G-spot may not be adequately stimulated.

All of this is essentially a TPR sleeve glued into a pocket rocket style vibrator, which can be easily felt beneath the TPR. In fact, the TPR right above the silver ring can be rolled back upon itself about a quarter of an inch. I am not sure if this is how all the models are designed or if the glue in mind just did not make it to the edge but it is something to watch for when washing.

During use, I can hold the handle beneath my thighs while the toys remains inserted. This is especially handy during activities like reading erotica.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The functions on the Butterfly Kiss are straightforward, as is use. One button on the base turns on the toy, cycles through the settings and finally turns it off once more. When pressing the button, there is an audible click.

The Butterfly Kiss boasts 3 levels of steady vibration which increase in frequency as well as strength. Therefore, the lowest setting does feel slightly deeper than the highest, even though it is weaker. I think the Butterfly Kiss is actually a bit stronger than vibrators which run on the same power source (2 AAAs). However, because the vibrations are centered at the end of the pocket right, near the butterfly itself, they are much more subdued in the shaft.

Following these settings are several pulsation settings as follows:

Medium repeating pulsation: Buzz buzz buzz buzz
Slow repeating pulsation: Buuuuzz Buuzz Buuuuzzz
Fast pulsation follow by one long pulse: Buzz Buzz Buzz Buuuuzz
Single long pulse
Fast pulsation follow by one long pulse (longer): Buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buuuuuuzz
Medium pulsation: Buuzz Buuzz Buuzz Buuzz Buuzz

Admittedly, many of these pulsation styles feel oddly similar. I would prefer fewer settings which are easier to differentiate.

In addition to this, cycling through 9 settings is definitely a hassle so I would like to see a master off button or a button which cycles downward.

Considering the power source and size, I find the noise output of this vibrator to be acceptable. It could not be heard through a closed door and you would probably be safe using it in the shower (with the water creating additional white noise) even if you were not home alone but I wouldn't use it in a shared shower or dorm room.

This toy is designed to be waterproof and the battery cap does screw on securely, over a thin O-ring. Unlike some supposedly waterproof toys, Butterfly Kiss does not take on water when washing and stays completely dry even when in direct line of fire of water. It was bone dry even after light submersion but I would be careful, anyway, if you plan on taking this butterfly underwater for long periods of time.

Care and Maintenance

Because this toy is toy is waterproof, it can easily be washed with soap and water. TPR cannot be sanitized so I would urge against sharing. The somewhat sticky material is prone to collecting lint so I try to take measures to protect it from lint (air drying or using a lint-free towel, storing in an enclosed space, not letting my cats sleep on it d=). In addition to this, removing batteries can prolong the life of your toy.

Either silicone or water based lubricants are fine to use with TPR and I would suggest using at least a bit to counteract the stickiness of the Butterfly Kiss.

Packaging

This toy comes in a simple plastic, blister pack with a paper insert which advertises its functions and properties. It is the type of packaging I quickly throw away.

Experience

Because I was able to keep this vibrator inserted in a somewhat hands free manner, I used it for a lot longer had I actively been controlling it with my hand. It did make for a nice "background vibrator" while I read erotica but it was not able to bring me to clitoral orgasm or to stimulate ejaculation. It is increasingly rare that any toy cannot make me squirt but the head of the shaft missed my G-spot entirely (because it is shallow) and the thin, soft neck just did not consistently stimulate me.
