Meany sex toy review

Traditional vibrator by Fun Factory

by Caspella

useful review
For all of the great things about the Meany, the bottom line is it's already broken. This could be an awesome toy, perfect for its intent…but instead is an example of how one design flaw can ruin a beautiful thing.
Aesthetically pleasing, g-spot stimulation, many vibration settings, three amazing pulsing settings
Terrible control design caused the toy to break after just one use!
I decided that I needed a small g-spot vibrator for those times when I wanted something less intense, and that could also act as a warm up to sex. I wanted one that wouldn’t numb me or stretch me to capacity before intercourse even started!

I was drawn to the Meany by Fun Factory for all the reasons I love my Galan II (also by Fun Factory); the gently tapered head, the supple ripples of silicone, the waterproof feature. And, the Meany does something its larger counterpart does not… it has three pulsating settings!

I was impressed by the smooth velvet texture of the silicone and the graceful lines. Those curves translate into amazing sensations. I was disappointed that once again, Fun Factory decided to use a rounded bottom on a vibrating dildo. It is inconvenient not to be able to stand the toy up.

I wasn’t disappointed when I popped in the two AAA batteries though! This company knows how to eek out every bit of power possible. It doesn’t compare in terms of sheer intensity to its larger brethren, but it is a stand out among other toys of its size. Considering the power, the toy was quiet as well.

I tested it out first by scrolling through the surprising amount of settings. The ‘normal’ vibration modes range from mild to pretty intense. The three pulsing features come next, and those were incredible!

The ripples were indeed delicious; they tantalize your clit while you work the toy in and out. The design is so good and the vibration so intense that it’s possible to have a g-spot orgasm and clitoral orgasm simultaneously. The first time I played with the toy I had multiple orgasms and I absolutely loved the pulsation! The deep rumbling patterns kept my body guessing, and kept the climaxes coming.

At first, my only complaints were that the handle is too small for a decent grip. Even more frustrating, you have to scroll through all of the settings to get back to the three pulsing modes. As a side note, black silicone really attracts lint, so I would buy the lavender version instead.

The toy is controlled through a simple plus and minus on the silicone body itself, a fatal flaw, as it turns out. After one use, it is now stuck on the highest vibration setting and will not budge no matter how I push the buttons or beg and plead. I can no longer get to the wonderful pulsation! Also, the minus button no longer turns the toy either down or off, so I have to take out the batteries to turn it ‘off.'

In short, this could be an awesome toy, perfect for its intent… but instead is an example of how one design flaw can ruin a beautiful thing. I am still using the toy for a tiny shower vibe, and enjoying its shape -- thank goodness it’s stuck on high!
Follow-up commentary

In the case of the Meany, I’m happy to report it was not broken after all… it was a case of ‘operator error’. Thanks to a tip, I discovered that putting the screw-on lid on backwards will cause the toy to stick on high. My rating of this toy is definitely changed now that my Meany is working as intended again… I would rate it four stars instead of two.

I still feel the tiny screw-on lid is a design flaw. It makes the toy very hard to hold on to, gives me doubts about its long term durability, and it’s so easy to think the toy is broken! Thank goodness I didn’t throw it away before getting feedback here at EdenFantays!

However, this is still amazing toy. It packs so much punch for such a small toy, and I am just as in love with the luscious curves of this vibe as I am my larger Galan II. Even with its smaller size, the Meany hits my g-spot (as long as I’m using a rear entry angle) and gives me a just full enough feeling. I also discovered that, contrary to my initial impression, you do not have to scroll all the way through the vibration settings to get back to the pulsing settings. You can toggle between the pulsing settings and the highest vibration setting, with the touch of the minus button.

The Meany is still not quite powerful enough to compete with my larger toys, but the pulsation makes up for it enough to bring me to orgasm. This is an especially satisfying toy in the shower (I keep mine in the bathroom!) and it’s quickly becoming yet another Fun Factory favorite!

So you think pressing the buttons caused it to get stuck?? Scary. I have the Corsar, and I don't want that to happen!

I've heard this issue before - the way the cap on the bottom is, it's not terribly clear which way it should be put back on. There's metal contacts that touch the batteries, and if the cap is put on "backwards" (which is easy to do, since it looks perfectly fine when attached) the toy will only work in high speed with no patterns!

Try taking off the bottom, turning it 180 degrees, and putting it back on. Chances are you have the little plastic nub in the wrong groove and that's why it's only working on one setting.

Hope this works for you! I'd be heartbroken if my dolly dolphin mini stopped working on me! :)

Wow! You were right! I just went and tried your suggestion, Lili Desi, and it worked like a charm. I am amazed; I thought I had tried every combination of battery insertion and putting the 'lid' back on both ways. I'm ecstatic! I will for sure have to edit my review, and write a follow up review as well...after I try it again this afternoon! ;)

I wonder if this is the same problem the previous reviewer had? I assumed since my Meany 'broke' in the same way as hers, and I saw no similar complaints about the rest of the Fun Factory mini line, that it was just a manufacturing problem with the Meany's scrolling buttons (they are rather difficult to depress through the silicone). I've had no serious problems with my other Fun Factory toys.

Thanks to both of you for the feedback!
