I had this toy for almost five years before it died on me. That is a pretty impressive life span, in my opinion. It was a gift from my deploying husband, which should tell you how much use it got over that five years.

It takes AA batteries, which was the only thing I didn't like about it. It seems like everything in my house takes AAs and I never have them on hand when I need them. I do wish that it wasn't quite so hard on batteries, but it wasn't terribly bad either.

The two different settings with their own up/down buttons were wonderful. That is the main reason this is one of my favorite toys. The speeds are great; when you have fresh batteries. You will easily be able to tell when you need more. If this toy came as a plug-in, it would probably be my ideal toy.

However, one big con is that this toy is listed as waterproof. "Water resistant for cleaning" would be more accurate, but the first time it was used in water was the last time it was used. The batteries corroded and the entire interior of the shaft was wet, and then rusted. It had to go in the trash, sadly. If it had not been almost five years I would have wanted my money back since this is advertised as waterproof.

I found the motor to be pretty quiet. It's probably one of the quietest toys I've ever owned.

It probably looks larger than it is. I'm pretty petite, in all senses, and this was fine for me. It's pretty flexible at the tip as well.

It is very easy to clean and doesn't have that weird plastic smell that always makes me gag and want to clean incessantly.

Keep a bunch of AA batteries on hand, and do NOT put this in the water, no matter how many times the listing says it is waterproof.
