Petite and Sweet, But Maybe Too Petite

I think this is a great vibrator if you're looking for something that is all-around a pretty good toy. This toy is also great for anyone (especially beginners) looking for something body-safe and not too outrageous.

Use

The Petite Couture Serenity is a traditional vibrator. For that reason, it is best used vaginally, although could be used on the clitoris, breasts, nipples... Wherever you would like a little extra stimulation. I definitely would not recommend the Serenity be used anally, as it does not have a flared base and could get lost, but feel free to use it to tease yourself and your partner in that area - just do this at your own risk!

I have used Serenity by myself and with my partner. With a partner, it's a great addition to both oral and vaginal sex when used by being held or rubbed against the clit, and also works nicely during anal with a partner (using the Serenity vaginally) to simulate a double-penetration situation.

Material / Texture

Serenity is made of a velvety, rather flexible, light purple silicone. Silicone is non-porous, phthalates-free and easily disinfected, making Serenity a 10 on Eden's material safety scale. It has a delicate swirl to it, adding a little extra stimulation. It has no smell or taste. There are no visible seams on Serenity.

The (waterproof) battery compartment and buttons are housed on a silver plastic base.

    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The design of Serenity is classy and feminine. The shape is very classic; it has that beautiful dainty swirl, which I like for a warm-up toy or for when I'm not feeling too down and dirty. It is 7" long, but only 5" are insertable. Because it is flexible, the straight shape still works because it contours to the body nicely. I like the look of it, but most of the time I found it to be a little thin. Anyone who likes their vibes a little less girthy will like this. It also is a reason why I think this is more a vibrator for beginner users.

This toy isn't massive, so I would say it's easy to hide as well as discreet. I've traveled with it, but the buttons are easily pressed, so exercise caution when packing it in a stuffed bag, taking it on a plane, et cetera. I always store it in a hard case or take the batteries out when I take it abroad.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The controls on Serenity are very easy to use. They are located on what I call the front of the base. There are two buttons: a power button, which will turn the vibrator on and off, and a button with a squiggly line, which will cycle through Serenity's different vibration options. The options include low, medium and high vibrations, as well as a few more escalating and pulsing options, which I don't personally care for. The power button will glow red when turned on, and the other button will flash each time you press it. The bullet is located at the tip of Serenity, making it easy to stimulate exact parts of your body.

Honestly, even with two new AAA batteries, on the highest vibration, I thought this was a little weak. It is a lot more buzzy than rumbly. Now, I don't know if I'm a power queen, but I always end up switching to a vibrator that is a bit stronger. I also found Serenity to be a bit of a battery guzzler, but that might have been me using it like crazy, full blast, trying my damnest to love it!

This toy would be fantastic if you have roommates, family, et cetera. It is very quiet, especially under blankets and once it's inside you. It's quieter than my iPhone's vibration. I've taken it into the shower multiple times and I didn't have a better experience, per se, but I really do love that it's waterproof.

Care and Maintenance

Because Serenity is silicone, it can be cleaned with a 10% bleach solution, toy cleaner, or anti-bacterial soap and water before and after use. I would not recommend boiling it because of the motor, and since it cannot be 100% sterilized (because of the plastic), a condom is highly recommended if you intend on sharing.

With all silicone toys, use only water-based lube. Store it away from any jelly and/or rubber, unless you want a big melted mess. I have left Serenity touching silicone toys and both toys have remained safe, but I do not know if they will stick to each other (they haven't yet though, phew!).

It does not come with a storage bag, but Serenity can be stored in its original box. I store it in a small velvet pouch in the same box as all my other toys, and that seems to do the trick.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

I got this a fairly long time ago, and don't have the packaging anymore, but I wouldn't have called it discreet. It was cardboard, white and had a picture of Serenity on the front, with water and a little "waterproof" stamp. The front and sides had information about Serenity, and inside, it was wrapped in some sort of foam bag-like thing that ripped fairly easily. The box however, is fairly sturdy and can be used to house your vibe.
    • Good for storage
    • Not discreet
    • Recyclable
Follow-up commentary
In the end, as cute as the Serenity is, it's still too weak and too small for me. I pulled the batteries out and I haven't touched it for months.
