Pretty Close to Perfection
The slick, pretty user-friendly Mia is a great introduction to clitoral vibrators. She's well worth her cost and the time put in to her use.Published: March 10, 2011
Pros:
Travel friendly, user friendly, discreet, quiet, rechargeable.
Cons:
Probably not the best for a quick session.
Recently, I decided to give clitoral stimulators a try and, based on the results of my internet sleuthing, decided upon the Mia. I also had never tried any of LELO’s toys and decided this should be my introduction to the brand.
Mia comes in a snappy black box, which makes it perfect for gift giving if you’re so inclined. Included with Mia is a white pouch for safe keeping, a USB cable, the warranty information and instruction manual.
One of the Mia’s charms lies in how discreet it is. It’s a little too large to be thought of as simply a flash drive or a tube of lipstick. Some may look at the Mia and assume it is a tube of mascara. Either way, the Mia is discreet enough so that family and friends would not question. The Mia is also rechargeable, via a USB port. This is pretty fantastic as you don’t have to worry about batteries – there’s no longer a need to go on a mad hunt for batteries when you really just want to do the deed.
Mia’s design is pretty cute – she’s made primarily of hard plastic and her buttons are silicone. Mia has two pieces: her body and the cap which protects the USB port. I haven’t had any problems so far with the cap popping off during use, but this is something to be wary off. The body’s rounded tip is perfect for sending targeted sensations to the clitoris and also to your nipples. Mia’s body can also be placed against the labia for a nice feeling. The cap has a flat end, and while the vibrations do travel up there they aren’t particularly strong.
Mia is also pretty quiet. It is a little buzzy, but even on its highest setting it’s fairly discreet. It’s not the sort of toy that will be heard easily. If you are the nervous sort, and someone’s next door, I’d say you may want to play a bit of music or have the television on for piece of mind, but it’s really unnecessary.
Mia does require some work on behalf of the user, so it may not be suitable for those who need seriously intense stimulation and would prefer that the vibe do all the work. However, I find that helping Mia along provides an intense feeling. For me, it was so good I was very nearly teary eyed. I’d say that Mia’s more suited for use when you have the time and desire to devote yourself to a long, lazy session. I don’t believe the vibrations are enough to get you to the finish line quickly. This is perfect for me, as I tend to use Mia before bedtime. Time with Mia is a perfect way to wind down the day.
Since Mia is lockable, it’s also the perfect toy to travel with. Also, the TSA folks won’t know what she is and there’s no worrying about it turning on during the most inopportune time!
Clean up is also a snap with the Mia. I just wipe her down after use with toy cleaner, but I wouldn’t submerge her in water since she’s not water proof.
All in all, I found Mia to be a really lovely toy and worth the expense as long as you have the time to devote to her.

Mias USB cover cap
-
I've done a little reading up on the Mia and found that many people were having problems with the cap falling off during use. Since Mia is not waterproof, I wanted to know if this was a defect or is this is something that happens to the Mias over time. I am looking to get one for my girlfriend, but wanted to know more about this problem before I purchase it. Also, I read that LELO has made improvements to Mias motor. Is that the only improvement that was made? Or does anyone have the same problem with the cap falling off on the new Mia?
Thanks!!

Any USB vibrators that you can use WHILE they are charging?
-
So I see there's no way you could use this one while it's charging, and apparently the same goes for the Fairy Baby. Does anyone know of one you can use while it's charging via USB?
-
I think the We-Vibe Tango might be usable since it looks like it's got a really long extension cord. But I don't own one.
-
I'd be worried about the risk of electrocution. Also, the power draw of simultaneous use and charging might fry your USB port.

New Lelo Mia?
-
Does anyone have the "new and improved" Lelo Mia? I'm curious if it's a lot better.
-
I didn't even know about the new and improved Mia, now I'm curious because I was thinking about getting the Mia with my next order.
-
I just went on the website and looked, I'm hoping that the one I order will be the new and improved one, because they said that they started making them better as of February. Now I'm even more excited to try it out :)
