Ah, no. I was allowed to proofread 3 reviews, like you mentioned. I only believed the limit was 10 after seeing it stated as such in the EdenPoints section. ^_^; Thank you for clearing this up!

You're welcome! Glad I could help.

Okay, this is utterly bizarre. I just edited a review and published it. I then clicked on it to see the published version and noted that there were already comments on it that were a few days old. link

How can this be? I also didn't get any points for editing it (which makes me sad because I spent well over an hour on it writing up thorough explanations for each editing change and linking resources for each example to help the contributor).

Is anyone else noticing bizarre glitches?

I just caught word of this today. I'm going to have IT look into it.

Thanks!

Thank you!

To clarify, I noticed the review was published on March 21. Again, it already has votes and comments on it. However, I just now edited it today, the 23rd.

I did notice that I only had the option Save and not Publish, but I just thought I'd already clicked Publish accidentally before I was finished (I've done it once before by accident). Apparently I did not do anything of the sort accidentally and Publish was simply never available (though, again, it already IS published somehow).

I am also still currently locked into the review, as my status on this review says "In Progress." Therefore, I cannot pick up any other review to edit. What should I do?

Are contributors with a ranking of 5.0 supposed to be edited? I'm trying to be more careful about the tasks that I pick up. (I was thinking that 5.0 and over were not edited but perhaps this has changed?)

You must be 5.5 or higher to skip the editing queue.

Hmmm. I wonder how the review I edited somehow managed to get published on its own? It was published a few days BEFORE I edited it, and it is still showing on the EdenTasks queue. I could open it and edit it, but I could not publish it (though I showed as the publisher on the live review page as long as I had the task locked--but, I could not pick up more reviews to edit until I sent it back to the tasks queue).

I just assumed the reason I didn't get any points for editing it was because the reviewer had a ranking of 5.1. Now it makes no sense at all.

Oddly enough, it states the following on the link above (which is somewhat contradictory if you must have a ranking of 5.5 for your reviews to skip the editing process):

"First, you need to activate the EdenTasks service in your account. You must complete the basic settings, such as: personal info, email, avatar, have a rank of 5.0 or higher, and submit your request to become an editor."

That's where I got the idea that anyone with a ranking of 5.0 or higher would not need editing.

I know, it's peculiar.

(I'm pretty sure I brought that up when the program was first introduced, because... Yeah. But that is why I knew the anwer )

That is most likely a glitch, actually. There are quite a few that need to be taken care of and taken off of the list.

Yep, those things we are most puzzled over are the things at which we become experts (or something like that)!

Yeah, I'm just trying to figure out which ones are the potential "land mines" to avoid "stepping on" to avoid further frustration.

I talked to IT and they're working on this still. Don't have an ETA on when it'll be fixed though.

JR,

Is there a way to flag reviews that are waiting for edits by the original reviewer? It's not a huge deal, just annoying when you select a review and it's not ready to be edited. Thanks.

Same here. I tried twice to get into the program; the first time I assumed it was because they were still doing test runs of it. The second time, well, I don't know. I wonder if it's because I'm already a mentor?

I would rather do the editing because we get more points and we don't have to worry about lost students that just disappear for months.

So, upon reading through the rest of this thread, it has come to my attention that no one has clarified the criteria for this program, despite everyone's curiosities. Any plan of this happening soon?

It may be that you have to 5.1 for it to think you're over 5.0. I think I read somewhere else in this thread that someone was having the same problem.

I think I was only a 5.4-ish when I was accepted as an editor. It was pretty weird being (I think) the only editor to also have my own reviews edited by other editors. Haha. Seems kind of silly, like the rank necessary for editing should be the same as the rank you can be auto-published.

Hopefully the glitches get sorted out as they come up. I'm just waiting till I get my chance to be an editor! I keep re-applying but no luck so far

I've noticed that the rank has to be a 5.1 or higher, which is at least a 5.0...it's in the programming, I think.

As it stands now, we're not accepting more editors right now.

Awww!

Do you know what the criteria has to be for being accepted when it is open?

Damnit I wish I would have known that, I just tried to re apply again. I want to do that sooo bad

Alright, I decided to compile a list of the faulty tasks (either cannot be edited/published, already published, etc.) because I'm tired of having to click through tons of reviews to find one that needs to be published.

3772, 3781, 3767, 2804, 2897, 3421, 3521, 3524, 3527, 3528, 3533, 3534, 3536, 3537, 3538, 3615, 3732, 3734, 3767, 3841

These are all that I saw for now!

Thanks for the specifics!

I'm going over these now and will be working with tech to figure out the issues with them!
