California Exotic Novelties brings us Heart shaped ice cubes!

Ever wanted something to spice up a romantic dinner at home? I know I sure have on more than one occasion and sometimes candles alone just don't cut it. Introducing heart shaped ice cubes! What is more romantic than hearts floating in your drink with soft music in the background as you eat away at your lovely dinner? Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!

The package is pretty plain, though I wasn't expecting anything over the top. It comes in plastic wrapping with cardboard staples to the top describing the product. The cartoon woman on the front of the cardboard really did nothing for me at all. I think they could have changed things to be more eye-catching to say the least. At the end of the day I don't buy a product for it's wrapper though, so that isn't a big deal.

The ice tray itself is cute, but much smaller than regular ice trays. It's just above 7 inches long and 4 inches wide. It contains different sized hearts, which was an added touch. There are 12 hearts total (2 big, 4 medium, and 6 small). The big hearts measure just shy of 2 inches at the widest point, the medium just under an inch and a half at the widest point and the small hearts measure just under an inch at the widest point.




The tray doesn't have a handle of any sort on it, which made it less user friendly than I would have liked.



Needless to say, I got over the dislikes so far and filled it up! Pulling it out of the freezer I noticed how hard it was to get the actual heart ice cubes out of the tray. It wasn't flexible at all which made it extremely hard. I soon discovered that you can push the edge of the bigger hearts with your finger which will help push them out. The smaller hearts were just a hassle, I had to bang the tray against my counter to get them out and really a few heart cubes aren't worth that trouble to me.



The heart shaped ice cubes served their purpose and chilled our drinks. Though I was disappointed when my hubby only noticed them for a split 2 seconds. They didn't do much for him at all and he didn't see it as cute or romantic.

I was really excited to try this out. I thought it was cute and honestly thought it would be great for a romantic evening. I'm such a mushy gal and love anything with hearts so this was right up my alley...or so I thought. It just didn't meet my expectations or my needs. While it's cute and all it was a great idea that just didn't make it out of the factory at it's best.

I no longer use this tray at all. It has been added to my daughter's play kitchen for her to play with. It just didn't make the cut for me.
