Ceramic Bubbles by Duncan Charles Designs is a really fabulous butt plug that I have found to be a wonderful addition to my back door toy collection. This is a butt plug that can be used by anyone and enjoyed by anyone familiar with anal play. I have used this toy as just a butt plug to have inside to provide a sense of fullness, as an enhancement to traditional masturbation, and as a highly effective prostate massager in its own right. Given its size and medium girth, I was thinking that this might be more difficult to insert than it actually is. Every time I use this plug, I am surprised at how easily it goes in and how good it feels right away.

Wearing this toy during sex is fun (my lady friend hasn't tried it), you just need to be careful to not land on it too hard if you're having an acrobatic sex session. You can cool this toy down in the fridge or heat it up a little bit if you like, and both options are great ways to explore the versatility of this plug and the sensations it can provide.

As the name implies, the Ceramic Bubbles is ceramic and therefore hard and unforgiving like a glass or metal toy. Because of this, you should be careful inserting this for the first time just to be sure that you don't inadvertently poke something too hard. The gorgeous blue/purple glaze is really nice actually. The one that was sent to me has no blemishes at all and is glossy smooth. I find lubrication is very easy with this toy since the glaze is non porous; this also makes it very easy to clean. One other nice thing about ceramic is that it's quite light relative to metal or glass. While the weight of glass and metal can be a nice thing, sometimes the weight can lead to anal fatigue (I know I just invented a condition, but it seemed like an accurate enough description to how my ass feels after battling a pound of glass for 45 min). The lightness makes the movements of the plug quick, and I've found this to be really nice against my P spot.

This is a toy that resembles quite a few butt plugs that are on the market actually. I guess the concept of putting balls in line is something that has worked in the past, and so it's possible to get variations on this theme in just about every material imaginable. I was excited about this plug in particular though because it just seemed like they got the proportions right. When I look at a plug, I am always most interested in how it will perform as a prostate massager. I know that dedicated massagers are great for this task, but I have been really surprised by much simpler plug designs, and the Ceramic Bubbles is no exception here.

At 4-1/2" of insertable length, I find that this toy is just about at the length limit of what my body likes. Inserting all the way to the T style base keeps the toy more or less secure, and it feels fantastic. While the specs for this toy indicate that the diameter is 1.5", that really refers to the base and not the insertable portion. The bubbles are actually in the 1" range, and they go in rather easily. I know what 1.5" feels like going in, and this takes far less of an effort to insert. I would venture to say that anal newbies could probably warm up to this toy without too much trouble, though it's probably best for the intermediate to advanced user....well, I am recommending this to anyone who likes butt plugs period, and particularly guys since it does such a fine job of rubbing the P spot.

Going back to the insertable length, the toy is designed to be inserted to the base, and doing so feels great. I have found, however, that the plug works quite well if it is inserted to the last bubble so that the base is dangling maybe 1.5" outside. At this length, the toy is the exact length of many popular purpose designed prostate massagers (I've held it against several Aneros massagers), and being forced to hold the toy in between bubbles with the anus makes it unstable so that it moves all over the P spot. Doing this has become a favorite late night activity for me in the several weeks that I have been playing with this toy!

As I've mentioned already, this is a wonderful plug from a performance standpoint. The very first time I used it, I was smiling from ear to ear because it just felt sooooo good, and using it never gets old. As just a plug, it's very filling and quite comfortable. I've used it sitting down while at the computer or reading. When I've used it masturbating, it is just great to clench down on and the resulting orgasms are incredibly intense. My new favorite way to masturbate with it is to get down on my hands and knees and jerk off while clenching down tight on the plug. When I do this, it's like having a guided missile homing in on my prostate. Similarly, using it during sex makes coming quite a bit more intense.

I've tried thrusting with it, but I find that the consistent graduation from thin to thick actually draws air into my ass, and that just ends up being uncomfortable. I prefer to use it either fully inserted or inserted to the last ball as I mentioned above.

Ceramic is a very easy material to clean and maintain. I wash this toy before and after use with warm soapy water, and the nonporous glazed surface makes this a very simple and easy task. The base is flat enough that the toy can be stood upright from the base, but you should be very careful when you do this if there is a chance it could fall onto a hard floor. A fall from sink height would most likely chip the glaze or even break the toy, and in either case you would be short a terrific butt plug in your arsenal....forgive the pun. Ceramic is safe to use with all lubes, so you can use whatever you like. I prefer thicker oil based lubes for anal stuff, but I've used all types with this so far, and any lube will do; it really gets slick easily whereas some toys don't hold a lube as nicely for whatever reason. After I've washed it, I put the toy back into the nice little pouch that comes with it. One other review of this toy complained that the pouch is not padded, but I find it to be more than adequate for storing and protecting the plug. There actually is a little bit of padding in the pouch material, just not a super thick pouch like you get with some glass toys.

The Ceramic Bubbles came in an inconspicuous white box. There are no instructions provided with it, but seriously, all you need to do is stick this thing up your ass, and you'll know whether or not you like it! If you're experienced with anal play, you will enjoy using this plug. I suppose you could use the box provided as a storage box, but it's not really something that will last all that long being thin card board.

As I've said multiple times so far in this review, the Ceramic Bubbles really is a wonderful plug. It exceeded my expectations in every way, and it has become a favorite of mine. Costing only $29 puts this plug in a very affordable price range for those looking for the quality of a luxury toy while being on a budget. I hadn't tried a ceramic toy before this one, and I'm now excited to try more since the weight:hardness ratio is quite a bit different than metal or glass.
