Shiny, but unimpressiveI was really hoping for more, but the Sasha Grey Signature Small Plug disappointed in more ways than one. Unless you really love the color black and like your anal stimulation to be mild at best, I would pass this toy over.
Simple, nice weight, works well as a warm-up toy
Cheap packaging, shaft too long, no texture, small bulb
This is a straight-up traditional butt plug. The business end may be pretty big for beginners, so slow insertion is key. Once it is inserted to the straight shaft of the toy, it feels pretty comfortable. The shaft is rather long, and since it's made of glass, the plug is pretty heavy, so I wouldn't recommend jumping around a lot with it in. Barring any unusual acrobatics, however, the toy should stay in as long as you want, at least as far as the bulb. Not using too much lube will help prevent it from sliding around too much. Experienced users may find this plug useful as a warm-up toy for more intense anal play. However, like insertion, one should be careful with pulling this toy out too, no matter how excited you may be for what's to come.
The plug is made of very smooth, black glass. The designers were clearly going for a classy look, and they achieved it pretty well. The heaviness of the toy makes insertion a little more difficult, but it may be a boon for those who want something firmer. The smoothness of the toy makes it nice to look at and somewhat easier to insert than it might be, but it makes it rather unstimulating once you've gotten used to the size (which experienced users will have no trouble with). I could easily forget it was in after a few minutes.
I really feel like the shorter bulb and longer shaft was a poor decision. There's no good reason to have that much room for the toy to slide up and down, especially given that there is no texture to make it stimulating. It also doesn't provide much of a "full" feeling once in. I like the way it looks, but it really didn't do much for me once it was out of sight.
There aren't any flaws in the manufacture of this plug (like sharp edges or discolorations). It functions as a plug of its size and shape should. I simply think it could have been given a better size and shape.
Glass toys are super easy to keep clean. Soap and water is my go-to method. I used water-based lube just because that's what I had, but glass will work with anything. Just make sure it's butt-friendly! Since it is meant to stay in rather than move around like a probe, I wouldn't recommend anything super slick.
The package was a small box with a somewhat classy design and a picture of the toy's namesake in lingerie. However, I was disappointed that there weren't really any instructions or tips or even a fun comment by Sasha Grey. The toy was packed in cheap foam and didn't come with any sort of cloth bag, which I would have hoped an ostensibly classy toy would. Overall I wasn't impressed, but it wasn't particularly offensive or detrimental.
This plug comes close to being good for several things but falls short. It's too big and firm for absolute beginners, but the small bulb and lack of texture makes it pretty boring for experienced butt adventurers. Glass can be a wonderful material for toys, but the lack of any texture lets all that potential go to waste. I might have given it better marks as a very simple but classy toy, but the utter cheapness in the packaging just ruins that vibe for me. The only thing I can recommend it for in good faith is warming up for other butt play. If you already have a toy for that, you probably won't get much out of this.
