This beautiful black glass butt plug from Doc Johnson is the smallest plug from the Sasha Grey Signature line. This plug is also available in medium and large sizes. Because of its size, this plug will not produce much vaginal pleasure, but it is ideal for anal play beginners or those whole prefer smaller anal toys.

The Sasha Grey Signature plug small is made from Borosilicate, or Pyrex, glass. It is very smooth, as well as texture, scent and taste free. Glass rates a 10 on Eden's material safety scale; it is one of the safest sex toy materials available. The food-grade material is non-porous, hypoallergenic, latex and phthalates free. However, the material is also very firm and care should be taken when inserting the toy, especially if one is not used to glass anal toys. Also, as with all glass toys, they should be inspected before each use to check for chips, cracks and scratches.

This small plug is similar in shape to other anal plugs. It has a tapered tip to aid in insertion, followed by a larger "head" which narrows to a thinner neck on top of the round base. Though small, the size might be a little intimidating to those not experienced in anal play; however, once inserted, I personally found that the toy felt smaller than it looked. Also, because of its smaller size, it can easily be traveled with. The round base is also small enough that it won't get in the way during sex or while masturbating while wearing the plug.

The Sasha Grey Signature plug small is easy to insert: simply apply lube to the toy and outside of the anus if desired, and push in. Glass toys are very smooth and do not soak up lube, so they won't need as much as, say, a silicone plug would require. Removal is also just as simple, just pull on the base to extract the toy. The glass material is also great for temperature play, just place the plug in bowls of warm or ice water before using.

Glass is very easy to care for and is an ideal material to share, just make sure to clean the toy thoroughly before sharing. To clean glass, soap and water, briefly boiling, bleach solution, and toy cleaner or wipes are all acceptable. Glass can also be placed on the top rack of the dishwasher to be cleaned (without detergent, or one specifically made for glass). All types of lubricants are also safe to use with the material.

The plug can be stored in the package it came in or in a purchased, or handmade, padded bag.

The top corner of the front also states what toy it is, followed by a letter designating its size (PLUG|s). Both sides of the box have photos of Sasha Grey; the back describes the product as well as listing benefits of glass. Inside, the toy itself sits in a thick, dark grey foam insert with a thin layer acting as a lid or top. The toy is very well protected by the foam and the package can be used for storage.

The box itself is not discreet, but would make a nice gift.

This is the third toy I've ever placed in my ass. I do have a handful of larger toys that I'm planning on working up to, and this is a good stepping stone. Upon opening the package and seeing the size of the toy, I was initially a little intimidated by it. Both toys that I had used before this were much smaller and I was worried that this would be too big for me right now. But as the title of this review states, my ass wasn't as tight as I had thought it was.

After cleaning the glass plug, I applied some System JO H2O anal lubricant to the outside of my anus and along the toy. I didn't think I'd be able to get the toy in without some effort, but a simple press slid it right in. Once inserted, it was quite comfortable though while lying on my bed with my knees bent, I couldn't really feel the toy inside me. Straightening my legs allowed me to feel it better. Standing and walking with the plug was also comfortable and allowed me to feel it better as well. I was also able to sit comfortably with this in. However, I noticed that that depended on how I sat. Sitting with my back arched and leaning forward slightly (perching) was more comfortable. But leaning back (as I was while relaxing and trying to watch a movie) became a little uncomfortable after awhile. Honestly, I'm not sure if that's just me since I'm not used to glass anal toys or if others will experience that as well. Though I would assume that a curved anal toy would be more comfortable for long term wear compared to this one.

Overall, I really liked this glass anal plug (aside from it not being entirely comfortable for me to wear for a long time if sitting). It's beautiful, shiny and black! And it made me realize that I could handle larger toys right now than I had initially thought.
