Gah. I completely forgot to include the part about the studs. Thanks for reminding me! When used normally, the studs cannot be felt, because they cover the bottom half of the paddle, and since this particular paddle is rather small, the user's hand covers a great deal of the studded area. However, we did try it out by flipping it around and using the handle end for spanking. :) The studs had a small effect; a slight sting of metal. Another point I forgot to mention - The raised hearts under the surface impart a feeling of deeper impact, when the paddle is swung fairly hard. The leather handled the water just fine, but I did make sure to dry it off immediately afterwards.
Could you feel the studs at any point? I'm guessing the leather didn't get wet enough to affect it much afterwards?
