You'll Never Escape My Pretty Red Bows!

The Silky Sash Restraints, while not made with real silk, are a very soft, non-intimidating restraint. These can be used to tie a partner to furniture, to bind their ankles and wrists together, or as a blindfold. No matter which way these are used, they are comfortable and non-binding. A generous four foot length for each sash really allows tons of options for use. For a low price, these are also pretty high in quality.

extremely useful review
I have been trying to suggest to my partner that we should try out handcuffs or wrist restraints, which never seems to go over too well. Usually I guess the thought of me tying him to the bed ends up disturbing him a little. As an introduction, I decided we should give the Silky Sash Restraints a try.

The sashes come packaged in a small cardboard envelope, similar to that of pantyhose. The front of the packaging displays a couple in their underwear. The girl has her wrists tied together with one sash and is blindfolded with the other. Under this image is the phrase “Keeping couples connected.” The packaging also states that these are intended for beginners. Other than that, there isn’t really anything to the packaging. I would have appreciated some information on the material content, as well as maybe some suggestions for use. The box can be used for storage, though these take up less room when simply folded and placed in a drawer.

While the name of this product is “Silky Sash Restraints” and the product page on EdenFantasys lists silk as the material, these are not made of silk. They feel to me like a polyester satin fabric. The satin feels as soft as that in some satin sheets I have. Each sash measures 48 inches long by 4 inches wide, so there’s tons of length to play with. I ordered the red restraints, which is the same red as displayed on the product page.

There are several different uses for these restraints. They can be used to tie a partner’s hands behind their back or blindfold them. They can be used to tie a partner’s wrists or ankles to furniture. They can be used to accessorize an outfit. When I have used these to tie my partner to my bed, I have simply tied them around his wrist and the bedpost with a knot and bow. While these do look cute in use and have a decent knot, if someone’s really putting up a fight, they can easily escape, especially if they get crafty and use their teeth to untie a knot or something. The satin material does not cut into wrists or ankles in any way, though it is a good idea to give your partner a little slack to allow for proper circulation.

As a blindfold, I can only wrap these around my head once. There is not enough length to go around twice, though it does come pretty close. Another big bow tied in the back holds these on securely. I can’t see much at all when blindfolded with the sash, just a tiny bit between my nose and each cheek. No matter how much tossing around I do with my head, the sash does not slip off once it’s been knotted.

As far as being an accessory goes, the sash can be used to accent the waist, wrists, hair, or thighs. It could even be tied around the neck like a cute collar. When tying this on your body, especially around your neck, make sure to leave plenty of room for breathing or circulation.

Caring for the Silky Sash Restraints is pretty simple. The fabric is machine washable and can be run through the dryer. Make sure to run it through both machines on a gentle, cool cycle. The restraints can be stored away with other toys, in a drawer, in the box, or even just set out in your home. I keep mine tied in a bow around my headboard. Since they just look like big red bows, people really don’t question what they are. I highly doubt the majority of people will look at them and know exactly what they are right away. Wrinkles in the fabric can easily be smoothed out with an iron, though I do recommend placing these on an ironing board with a towel over them so that the iron does not burn them.

I recommend these restraints to anyone looking to experiment with restraining or blindfolding their partner. These are pretty cheap, yet at the same time they aren’t cheap quality. They are also much less intimidating looking than some other restraints, so partners can be eased into the idea and feel comfortable. These are also super comfortable to wear.
Experience
I have used my restraints to tie my partner to my bed, to which he responded by just lying there like a lump. He didn’t put up any sort of struggle and said his wrists felt comfortable tied to the headboard, with the exception of an awkward angle. I keep teasing him that I am going to tie him to the bed and tickle him for hours. I enjoy using these along with my Rouge Latex Whip, since I can hold my partner in one spot and really do whatever I please to him.
Follow-up commentary
These restraints are still holding together perfectly. I typically keep them tied to my headboard, so they do get a little wrinkly. They are easy to smooth out with an iron. I have not had to wash these yet, though I did spray them with Febreze after my apartment caught on fire because they had a slightly smoky smell.

    • What is the best material to use for a first time starter on this type of play?
    • How sure are you that you'll enjoy it? I think some of the bondage rope is supposed to me more versatile and comfy overall. I remember seeing someone post about silk sashes being a little worse than rope for some reason, something about the silk bunching up? I don't remember the details. Rope and such would probable be better for experimenting than cuffs, though. There are more uses for rope in a common vanilla household than there are for cuffs...
