Silicone crystal cote - realistic dildo by Cal Exotics - review by Ellasbeth

The Crystal Cote was my very first dildo purchase and I am still hooked! This is my go to toy and has been for a few years. I randomly stray because I want a different feeling, but I ALWAYS come back to my tried and true dildo love.

This toy is great for both strap on play as well as solo sessions. It is much more pleasurable in my harness than the dong it came with plus it has the added bonus of a suction cup that allows for hands free use in the shower (or anywhere with a smooth hard surface). When my girlfriend wears this in our harness, it is not too big for me to enjoy head but still manages to feel like it fills me up inside. And even when shes not around I can hook this on the shower wall and fuck myself from behind or simply do things the old fashioned way holding it by hand, since the suction cup makes a great handle.

I don't think I would recommend this for anal, unless you REALLY like a lot of texture & sharp size change. The head has a really distinct ridge around it and creates a heavy pop when it goes in or out. For me, this is too much of an edge for comfortable anal play, although I am sure there are those who it will work for.

This toy has kept me company on the lonely nights while I was single and is still just as awesome now that I have a partner to share the fun with!

This toy is made out of TPR Silicone which is a silicone based rubber compound. What this means is that, although the toy is Latex / Phthalates free, it is not capable of being sterilized the way that pure silicone is. Despite that, I never had any issues with smell or taste from this toy. It isn't completely tasteless like some of my other toys, but it is certainly not anything that makes me want to avoid running my lips over the head while my girlfriend is wearing it!

The Silicone Crystal Cote is a pretty firm toy; it will bend if you actively try to bend it, but its not particularly soft. I've never been with a man who was that stiff, so I would not say it is realistic, but it is much more giving than a hard plastic or glass toy. Although the ridges are pretty intense, I think that a beginner would do just fine with this toy. In fact it was my first real dildo purchase!

Oh & one last thing, I have had two of the purple ones and one of the pink, and NONE of mine looked exactly like the picture. The picture on here and the one on the package (I've had my last one for a while now so the package may have changed) show a very distinct difference between the inner color and the clear outside, but in all of mine there was a bit of color blending around the edges and the clear part wasn't crystal clear till closer to the outside. This in no way affects performance, I just thought I'd mention it since I was personally a little disappointed that it wasn't quite as distinct as the picture suggested. But then, I like pretty playthings.

I think this is probably the perfect size for the average user. And, since I'm on #3, I think it's obvious that I am quite fond of the design.

It had a VERY distinct ridge around the head that creates a little bit of a hanging point when you're pulling the toy out. For this reason I prefer that my partner keeps this toy inside me when we "play" instead of pulling out frequently as this ridge can be slightly irritating to my pussy. When it is actually inside me, the ridge (along with the ribs down the shaft) feels AMAZING. They might be a bit too overwhelming for anal play though. Just thinking about the pop caused by the head going in and out makes my ass hurt!

My only complaint with this dildo is that it is made in two pieces: the main piece, and then the suction cup is on a plug that fits into a hole on the base. This is really not so sturdy and is the main reason why I'm on my third one of these toys.

While still intact the suction cup was incredibly strong. In fact that is something to really pay attention to when you're playing around with it. ALWAYS make sure to slip a finger under the edge and break the suction instead of pulling on the shaft.

Without the suction cup base you lose the ability to play in the shower/other firm surfaces; it also completely changes how it would be worn in a harness for strap on play. I still have one of the broken ones and I just put an o-ring around the shaft and use it in my harness like the dong it came with, but I lose at least an inch of length doing it like that.

Since this is made of TPR Silicone, it is not quite as easy to clean as pure silicone products, but washing it in anti-bacterial soap after EVERY use should do the trick. The nice thing is that this material doesn't really attract lint or other dirty substances, so one wash between play is plenty for me, even though I have other toys that I think get dirty just from being carried across the room! Oh and be sure to scrub the tip and the ridges extra well as there are little groves that can collect "gunk".

You also want to make sure you are only using water based lube on it as silicone lube will cause it to break down over time. Something you DEFINITELY don't want to happen. Also, with my first one I made the mistake of suction cupping it to the tub base down because, silly newbie that I was, I was worried about dirty water getting trapped under the suction cup. Unfortunately, this did the opposite of what I was hoping and the water helped the suction cup form a stronger bond and when I tried to detach it I couldn't break the seal from the side & ended up popping the suction cup out completely! Just let it dry on its side & then simply put it away in your "toy box" for next time. I personally have a rubbermaid type container in my closet that it hangs out in when not in use.
