Sketchy Crystal Cote

As soon as I opened the package for this dildo, I knew something was wrong. It stunk so bad! After washing, the smell still lingered. After reading the fine print on the package, I read that the material is actually PVC, only a 2/10 on Eden's safety scale. It will harbor odors and bacteria, which is something you should know before buying! I don't share toys so porosity is not typically a problem, but I probably would not have ordered this if I had known it was PVC.

Use

This is a suction cup dildo by California Exotics. It has a beautiful hot pink suction cup base, balls and core in the shaft, while the rest is crystal clear, accentuating the pink center.

The suction cup allows you stick it on the wall, shower, tub, table, chair, anything, and participate in some hands-free play. I like this feature and use it to play in the shower. There is no motor so the only ways of manipulation are to bounce on it when it is suctioned on something or manual thrusting with your hands.

Because there is no motor and no power, it is great to use in the shower without worrying about damaging any of the parts.

This toy is suitable for anyone looking for a dildo. It is on the small side, so it likely won't be pleasing to the size queen but it is great for a beginner or intermediate user. Because it is not huge, it could be used anally by many users.

The balls and suction cup act as a flared base to prevent the dildo from going too far inside you if using it anally.

The material is firm, but soft enough so that there are no worries about hurting yourself when thrusting.

Material / Texture

This is a hard section to write because there is a discrepancy in the materials. This is why I titled my review "Sketchy." The toy itself is called "Silicone Crystal Cote" and the material on Eden is listed as TPR Silicone. When I removed the dildo from the package, it reeked. Really bad. Like a jelly toy. So, I washed it like usual and it still stunk. Then, I noticed while reading the package, that California Exotics has this listed as being PVC. The difference between TPR and PVC is pretty big.

TPR Silicone is a 6/10 on Eden's safety scale. It can only be used with water-based lubricant and though still somewhat porous, it is not a terrible material.

PVC is a 2/10 on the safety scale. It can be used with water or silicone lubricant but is very porous, smells bad, and retains odors and harmful bacteria.

I am inclined to believe the packaging, since it came from the manufacturer.

This toy is pretty firm, to be made of a soft material. It has a small amount of give to it and can be bent and flexed, though not a ton.

It has a lot of drag to it and the material feels sticky. It does collect a lot of hair and lint. As I said before, it smells very bad and also tastes bad. It smells and tastes similar to a strong, chemical smelling glue.

It is shaped realistically and has a defined head that resembles a penis. Along the shaft are ridges that fade out as you get closer to the balls. On mine, there are eight ridges. They do add stimulation, but not so much that it would turn off people who prefer smooth toys. It is suitable for any user.

Design / Shape / Size

This is a well designed toy. I like that it is on the small side. I have a lot of really big dildos, and though I like the full feeling, I don't necessarily want to be stretched. The measurements for this toy are:

Length:
7"
Insertable length:
4 1/2"
Circumference:
4"
Diameter:
1 1/4

As you can see, the balls and the suction cup take up a lot of the length so the insertable length is not very long.

It is a good size for the average user and even better for the beginner. I like the realistic head and the ridges along the shaft.

It is not discreet at all. It would likely raise some eyebrows going through airport security because hey, it looks like a hot pink penis!

Performance

This is a very pretty toy and it is easy to use. You don't have to have batteries or anything to use a dildo, just thrust away! The size and shape is nice. It is textured but not overwhelmingly so. It feels realistic and has a nice, defined head. I like that it has a suction cup. However, my suction cup is already separating from the balls on this dildo, a problem I saw in other reviews too. I hate the smell and taste of this toy and also the material discrepancy.

Care and Maintenance

This can be washed with a toy cleaner, Eden wipes, or soap and water. It cannot be boiled or bleached or anything along those lines. I store mine in a satin bag because it collects a lot of hair and lint. If it were a silicone toy, which it is listed as, it could not be used with silicone lubricants. However, since the package says it is PVC, it should be able to be used with silicone lubricants. To be safe though, I would only recommend water-based.

Packaging

I hate this packaging. It is a clear plastic clamshell with a trashy girl pictured. There are no other uses so it went straight to the trash. It was printed on here that I saw this toy is actually made of PVC.

Thanks. I'm not sure why they have this product listed as an incorrect material still.
