Rocket My Socks Off
Published: June 29, 2009
useful review
If you're looking for a discreet, medium-intensity toy, the Orion Bottle Rocket will help you to blast off! Because of its modest size and very affordable price, this vibrator would be a great introduction into the world of sex toys for a beginner.
Pros:
Cute packaging, body-safe material, discreet, quiet, very affordable.
Cons:
May be too small for some advanced users, only one speed, can be accidentally turned on easily.
Use
This makes a great travel vibe. It's small, discreet, quiet, and it can easily be stashed in a purse, bag, or even a large pocket. It can be used either internally or externally, but because of its size may be easier to use externally. If used as a travel vibe, precautions should be taken so that this toy doesn't accidentally get turned on, which can happen pretty easily if the button bumps up against something. To prevent this from happening, the battery should be removed (which will also save power).
Material / Texture
This toy is made of soft, smooth plastic with a somewhat velvety finish. There is wide vertical ribbing from the tip to base, which felt nice when I inserted the vibe but was not particularly noticeable once inside. It is body-friendly and non-porous, and it has no smell or taste.
Design / Shape / Size
I was unsure about the shape and size of this toy at first, but it is really very effective. It is a mere 1" in diameter that is tapered at the tip for very easy insertion, making it a great beginner vibe. It's insertable length is about 3-1/4", and the tip rested nicely against my G-spot when inserted.

Functions / Performance / Controls
This is a one speed, push-button vibe. It is of medium intensity, and the vibrations are on the higher end of medium (as opposed to deeper, more "thrummy" vibrations--these are a little closer to high-pitched "buzzy" vibrations). The vibrations are concentrated mostly in the first inch or so of the tip and wane to much softer vibrations at the base. The toy is fairly quiet--it could probably be heard under a blanket, but not through a closed door. This toy is also waterproof. The battery compartment is sealed tightly by a thick silver ring and kept moisture out when tested in the water.
Care and Maintenance
This is a pretty low-maintenance toy. It is non-porous, can be cleaned with warm water and mild soap or toy cleaner. Both water-based and silicone-based lubricants can be used with plastic toys.
Packaging
The packaging for this toy is adorable. It comes in a small plastic bottle that unscrews at the bottom that can be used for storage. Mine easily fit in my nightstand drawer. My only concern with the packaging is that sometimes the bottom of the bottle bumps the button and turns the toy on. This can be alleviated by removing the battery before storing.

Too cute! Thanks for the review!
I love the packaging more than I love the sound of the vibe. This would be great on my office desk!
Right? Isn't the packaging ingenious?
