Velvet touch vibrator - traditional vibrator by Doc Johnson - review by savagelove

It had been a while since I had purchased a toy for myself. My partner and I decided to bring the Velvet Touch vibrator into our play. I loved it. The noise is definitely too loud for people living in dorms or other situations with shared rooms. I live in a rather quiet home and a closed door is enough of a sound barrier. It wasn't more than I would expect from a vibrator that offers this strength.

The feel of the Velvet Touch is marvelous. The PU coated plastic is soft but very easy to clean, warms fairly quickly, and feels almost luxurious -- much better than the cheap plastic I remember from my last toy(s), at least. It even smelled pleasant. My partner enjoyed the feel of it on his skin, too. I use vibrators primarily for stimulating my clit, but sometimes for vaginal insertion and nipple stimulation. In all sorts of play, this toy proved well worth it. We rarely used lubrication with it for our needs. This is a great toy for clitoral stimulation during intercourse. To be honest, the only thing I didn't like about it was the colour! The waterproof cap seemed secure, though I never used it in the shower or bath but planned to.

However, my plans for a long relationship with this toy ended abruptly when, just a couple of months after purchasing it, the metal parts inside became damaged upon my changing the batteries. I know what you're thinking, but no, I didn't wreck my toy out of an inability to change batteries properly. When I unscrewed the cap and turned the toy upside down to let the batteries fall out, the plastic casing which aligns the batteries properly on the contact points came out with it. Upon reinserting it, the metal conduit strip within the length of the toy (a part of extreme significance to powering a toy) became wrinkled. Despite my partner's best efforts (he's a great handyman among other things), it was impossible to restore.

I realize from other reviews that I simply must have received a defective one, otherwise, surely other people would be as frustrated with their purchase as I was. That is why this is a mixed review. I quite enjoyed my toy while it lasted, but the fact that it damaged so easily has me jaded. However, I understand that was likely my bad luck rather than a generally poorly structured toy.
