Traditional vibrator discontinued

French veluotte, from Latin villus.

We have had this toy for over a year; it was/is our first starting toy together. It may seem overly simple to the toy queens and kings, but if you are new to sex toys or anything vibrating, it's not a bad multi-functional toy to keep in your arsenal.
-Powered by AA batteries.
-Decently powerful.
-Easily outgrown.
-Material safety.

The Doc Johnson Velvet Touch Vibrator is a traditional vibrator that is simple, decently powered, and affordable. For someone beginning to use toys, this is a great place to start. The Velvet is so simple in its design that you can literally use it for many different pleasures: a pin-point massager, clitoral, vaginal, or anal. I should note: if you do use it for anal, be sure to use protection as the Velvet is made of ABS plastic and cannot be sterilized.

The Velvet is also waterproof, making it great for play in the shower, tub...or any other place that gets your gears rolling!

Material / Texture

As stated the material of the Velvet is the ABS plastic with a PU coating which is rated 7 on the safety level at Eden. It cannot be sterilized in the same manner other materials can be, so please be careful if entertaining anal play - a simple condom will keep your mind at ease.

Design / Shape / Size

Velvet is a smooth vibrator, like any other bullet, just larger. It does have that "velvety" feeling that goes unnoticed during play. The tip is tapered to provide a little more of a finer point for entry. Its total size is just over 7" with 6" of that being insertable (not discreet). With 1" in diameter, it makes a very beginner-friendly vibrator.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Controls on the Velvet are located at the bottom in a dial. Simply by turning the dial, you can change the speed of the vibrator. There are four settings: High, Medium, Low and Off. They do have a decent amount of "room" on the dial so you don't accidentally bump it to another setting.

Velvet is powered by two AA batteries, and it provides decent vibrations and noise. I would rate this at 3 Vrooms and at 3 Bee's. We have used it in several sessions, and the batteries do last a decent amount of time. Like anything battery-powered, newer batteries provide the strongest vibrations, and weaker ones provide weaker vibrations.
    • Easy to use
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

To care for this toy, we store it in a sock, so #1, it's not accidentally discovered; and #2, it protects it from other items joining it in a drawer. To clean this toy, just use some warm soap and water. It cannot be boiled, cleaned with bleach, or run through the dishwasher.

The Velvet can be used with water-based lubes and silicone-based lubes.

Overall this toy is maintenance-free.

Experience matters - its is (after all) why we are all here. We have used this vaginally in the tub and shower, anally in the shower, on the nipples, around the scrotum and penis, even on the back as a nice massager with that tiny little point. I cannot account for any bad experience we as a couple have had with this toy. It has lead to a lot of discovery, longer sex sessions, and some amazing orgasms from us both. It may not be complex, but what it DOES do, it does very well.
