Ben Wa balls are a type of Kegel exerciser. The idea is to work out the vaginal muscles by holding and moving the balls inside of the vagina. These types of exercises can help women have more frequent, stronger orgasms, as well as improve bladder control. In addition, the sensation of working out these muscles, combined with the movement of weight against the inside of the vagina, is supposed to be quite pleasant. Unfortunately for me, these were much too small and light to do me much good.

These come in a cardboard box with the brand name, Fetish Fantasy, in big letters. Below that there is a hand holding these two beautiful marbles. Inside that there is a black plastic display box with a lid that holds the two balls and the cute little pouch it comes with. The pouch is made of some sort of synthetic material with a little draw string. Probably my favorite bit of ingenuity about the product is the seam down the middle of the bag to prevent the glass balls from knocking against each other and chipping.

The balls are made from borosilicate glass, which is rated 10 out of 10 on Eden's safety scale. They are opaque black, very smooth, and have no taste or smell. They are easy to clean due to their smooth shape with no texture to catch bacteria. It is high quality material. Just washing with soap and water or a toy wipe will do fine. Do be careful cleaning them in some sinks though, as they can be hard to keep a hold of while washing and they're smaller than the drain on some sinks! I had a close call the first time I went to wash them.

I have heard many women's fears of "losing" things inside their vaginas, which, of course, can't actually happen. However, if you are the sort of woman who is made nervous by the idea of that, the sort of Kegel exercisers that have a string for retrieval might make you more comfortable. While I didn't lose these inside of me, removal involved reaching pretty far inside my vagina, as they have a tendency to sit several inches up due to their light weight.

These marbles were my first experience with Kegel exercising products of any kind. I cannot, however, figure out how to make these balls exercise anything. I got the one inch size on the logic that I'm not much of a size queen, and the smaller balls would require me to hold on tighter to them. However, they are so small and light they just want to migrate all the way up, almost to my cervix, where I can't feel them at all.

I put them in and started doing some housework, expecting to be getting some sort of stimulation from them as I worked.

I pretty much forgot they were there.

I kept thinking about writing this review, and thinking maybe I should hold off on it until I'd gotten the hang of these, but try after try I could not seem to make these balls do a thing for me. Every time I put them in they just slid all the way up past where I could feel them at all.

While I hadn't used any Kegel exercise products before, I'm a pretty active woman, so I think I must just already have too much strength in that area for these balls to be effective for me. They might be a great place to start for other women who have less developed muscles and want an easy start to Kegel exercising.

I've tried a few more times to make these work as ben wa balls. They've found a home in my pile of shiny rocks, looking pretty.
