Cleopatra's secret? Not worth keeping a secret.

This is definitely not my favorite Dona product and I feel it really falls flat in the quality and benefit department. Overall, it's not a bad product, but it seems more geared to those looking for a more luxurious style of bathing. At the same cost of bath salts, I feel this one is slightly over-priced, but I have mostly enjoyed using it.

Use

Overall, this particular product is designed for soaking in bath water. I'm not 100% sure on what the product is specifically supposed to provide for the body or mind, however. The directions are vague, but in my experience, I found it best to add about 2-3 tablespoons of the bath milk to running bath water. At times there was some clumping, but some swishing of the water generally took care of this issue. This product is definitely more for relaxing and helping to reduce stress, body aches and muscle aches. After checking out the ingredients a bit, this product aids in removing dead skin cells from your body to reveal healthy skin. Also, the other ingredients can aid in reducing inflammation.

Whether solo or with a partner, I feel you can enjoy this product, or even use it for a foot soak. There shouldn't be too many issues with allergies in this product, but it does have dry milk powder, and also a sulfur-based ingredient. Unless you are extremely allergic, I doubt you will have problems.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The bath milk is a dry powder much like a super-fine dust, or perhaps like baking powder. It will easily float around in the air if you are not careful, as in if you were to allow air to blow into the container. It is very thin, velvety and will stick to your skin if you're sweaty. It dissolves nicely into the water, but in some cases can clump. It will change the color of the water quickly to a creamy milky color, then you will also notice a light bluish-grey color. The water feels somewhat softer, smoother, but I feel you need to add the whole container, or a gallon of regular milk to the water for a thicker creamy consistency. Overall, it is fairly easy to free pour from the container, but using a scoop is much easier. With adding my regular 2-3 tablespoons, I did not find the need to rinse the tub out or my body off.

Taste / Aroma

Can you guess that I like the pomegranate scent in this product line? Yes, it's true that I do and naturally that is what I went with in the bath milk. The scent and aroma is much like the other pomegranate products, however, it is much lighter. It is not overpowering or too heavy. It leaves more of a light floral and fruit-like aroma. I don't enjoy the pomegranate as much with the bath milk, as I have with the other Dona products. It's not terrible, just not as pleasant. After soaking with this, I find the aroma lasts maybe 30 minutes on my skin. In this case, I am glad because the after-smell from soaking leaves behind a hint of pomegranate with more of a milky or dairy-like smell.

Performance

I did not find much happening in the performance of the product. I did not experience any improvements in the feel or appearance of my skin. If anything, I found my skin to be dryer after using this product. It isn't quite on par in the relaxing part, either when comparing to the Dona bath salts, those really worked wonders on me. However this bath milk, while it seems to relax me a bit, it just doesn't seem to completely get me all the way there. My body doesn't so much ache or hurt after soaking in the milk, but it just doesn't feel quite 100% relaxed.

After using this a few times, I found I preferred to rinse off after soaking because I did not enjoy the after-smell that much. It cleans up nicely though, and does not seem to leave a residue in the tub. I think what I liked best about the product is the fact it made it seem like I was having a more luxurious style of bathing.

Personal comments

Overall I really feel this product falls somewhat flat, while it smells pretty good and does a fairly good job at relaxing, it just doesn't seem to match with the bath salts by Dona. It's not terrible and I'm sure many others will have a better experience than me. I just don't see that the quantity of ingredients in the container and per bath soak are really ever going to have any benefits in short or long term use.

Experience

In my experiences with this product, I cannot say they have been terrible, but they have not been the greatest. There isn't anything terrible about this product in the sense that it causes problems, or discomfort. I feel that for a more luxurious looking and style of bath soak, it could do so much better. In using half the container so far, I have not experienced any benefits to my skin. After each soak I have found that my skin feels dryer, but not itchy. I find myself wanting to rinse off after a soak and apply the pomegranate body butter to get the nice smell to come through. Without the butter each time, I get a weird dairy-like smell.
Follow-up commentary
Sadly after using up all my bath milk I really felt I didn't like it as much as I originally had. It just seems like it doesn't give enough noticeable effects on the mind or body for me to justify the cost and quantity you get. One thing it did work very well with was a strong aroma. I did like that a lot about this product. I don't think I will be getting this again.
