Oh Magical Treasure Box!
It's good for anyone. It's beautiful. It serves more than one purpose. Definitely not cheaply made. Holds many small and medium toys, or a few large toys. The lock is an amazing feature.Published: August 12, 2010
Pros:
Gorgeous, great quality, well made, easy lock feature, spacious, secretive
Cons:
May not be good for huge collections
My Toibocks, came in a regular postal box with no indication of what was waiting inside. Inside of the postal box, was the box holding the Toibocks. The package was white, with a picture of the Toibocks. When I opened the box, I saw this wonderful treasure box awaiting me! It was slightly difficult for me alone to pull the Toibocks out of the box because it was very well packed with styrofoam. After some wiggling and careful pulling, my box was ready to be used! Also in the package was instructions, a warranty, the key, and little squishy clear tabs to stick on the bottom corners. These were very easy to apply. It just prevents scratches on whatever surface you decide to keep it. Currently my Toibocks is on my nightstand.
The Toibocks was a little smaller than what I expected from seeing pictures, however it holds much more than I was expecting. The box measures 11 inches across, 7 inches back, and just over 6 inches tall. The outside is a very deep beautiful wood color. Very appealing. It does not give away at all what is held inside. When you lift the lid, it looks like a simple jewelry box. It has one big section and two small sections in the top tray. Small toys can be stored in the top tray, but keep in mind anyone is able to open the lid and see what's in the tray. I suggest using the top tray for jewelry or something small. It is even more beautiful on the inside, because it is red velvet lined.
The box locks very well. You cannot pull the tray up, while it's locked, without breaking it. Which I don't suggest doing. Once the box is unlocked, you can then lift your tray out. However, you cannot lift straight up. I figured this out the first time using it. You have to lift the front edge up first, and pull towards you. There's a lip that sticks out the back of the tray, to help it sit in there firmly, and also help to lock it. Once your tray is out, your toys will be below! You have a space of 2.25x6x9.75 inches to fit your toys into. I personally, have one small vibrator, one medium vibrator, two large vibrators, and a strap on vibrator inside. I would say that only is taking up about two thirds of the room in the box. So I can still fit a few more toys in there. I do not suggest storing lubrications in this box. Almost every lube I have owned has leaked at some point, and if it leaks, it will ruin the velvet lining. To lock the box, you must put the tray back inside. Simply tilt the back of the tray downwards slightly, and insert the lip into the appropriate place, then set the front of the tray down until it is in place. Then you can lock the box.
To clean the outside of the box, spray some pledge or some sort of wood dusting product on a rag and wipe down gently. Try not to get any part of the box wet. Keep in mind, the inside is very delicate. Try not to get the velvet wet. To remove lint or dust, I suggest blowing on it, dusting with a dry cloth, or using the sticky side of tape, to remove it. I also suggest you store each seperate toy in it's own plastic baggy, or the original package it came in. Keep in mind, if the original packages are large, you won't be able to fit as many toys inside. I personally have all of my toys in their own seperate plastic baggy.
Since the Toibocks is rather large, and the lid does not have any sort of lock or latch, this toy is not good for travel.

Experience
I have only had this box for about a week now, but I am in love. It's gorgeous and looks great on my nightstand. I love that it can hold jewelry on top. It's also a definite plus that it can lock. This is my first locking box of any kind, to store my toys in. I do not have children yet, but I have other nosy family members, so this will keep them from finding my treasure collection of fun bedtime toys! It is a perfect size for me right now, but I'm just starting off. Once I build my collection, I will not be able to fit them all, but it does hold more than I expected, so that's great news for me. I definitely recommend the Toibocks to everyone. Men and women both. It may not be good for you if you have a very large collection of toys. However you can always purchase multiple Toibocks'!

What Kind of Wood Is The ToiBocks Made of?

I'm wondering if the type of wood is what makes it valuable. Does anyone know what kind of wood it's made of?

ToiBocks is the only discreet storage designed specifically for novelties, that you can keep on the nightstand, dresser, or desk and it will not look out of place.
Due to variations in humidity and temperature throughout the world, and the small lock mechanism, ToiBocks is manufactured using MDF. We tried many different kinds of actual wood to create ToiBocks (over 3 years of R/D) and found the humidity/temperature of real wood made it constrict/contract and interfered with the effectiveness of the lock mechanism.
The design and function of the box are what increased the manufacturing costs, leading to the higher price.
All my best,

What do you guys think of this new company? I think while they are expense, it is an awesome idea. According to a video I watched, the owner said they have 9 products coming out by the end of the year! I am very interested to see what all of them are as only two (the original ToiBocks, and the ToiTissue). I think the pieces are gorgeous and seem like an awesome idea for people with lots of guest or children.
The ToiBocks locks via magnetic key, so even if someone suspected it had a compartment in the bottom, they wouldn't be able to get into it unless they had one and knew they worked (and had a key). While it wouldn't hide very many toys, it would be great for keeping a few favorites easily accessed. I've been looking at more storage options lately, and it's been hard trying to decide what I want to get! At least now I know, even if they are out of my price range at the moment. I definitely want the ToiTissue for condoms, and I want the ToiBocks for my favorites on my dresser. I am really hoping they make something a little larger too, though I feel faint when I think how expensive larger pieces would be. No doubt these are high end and absolutely gorgeous.

They're nice- but completely not my style. I don't care for any wood finishes with my furniture. They'd be totally out of place. Like Backseat- I need large storage. Any really small toys I have that would fit in those I just keep in my nightstand.
They're just awfully expensive, neat, but pricey.

Thank you for viewing The original toibocks – storage container review page!

I WANNNNT this so badly! It's absolutely gorgeous! great review!
Aww, you spoiled the secret! *Pouts* Great review. I wish you would've left out the part about the lock's function, though.
Thanks MamaInStilettos! And thanks Splenwhore. Sorry I spoiled the secret though! I thought that was part of the product. I didn't even think about it not being included. Sorry!
I really want this! Thanks for the review
I'd recommend taking out the part about the lock's function as well. I had to debate about it on my own review, but when I saw that even the manufacturer's website didn't include the information, I took mine out. It's not much of a secret if it's published on the internet.
I can't wait to get one of these! Great review
I have made changes and removed the instructions for locking and unlocking! Hopefully you all approve now!
GREAT review! Thanks so very much. I'm so glad you love it. Also to all you awesome people helping to protect the secret... ROCK ON! You guys are all just so fantastic!
Just one thing to mention... you said: "To clean the inside of the box, wipe down with a damp rag and let air dry."
Please do NOT use a damp cloth anywhere near the velvet, not even on the wood along side the velvet. The velvet gets a 'black' look to it when it gets wet (this is why I personally do not recommend storing any lube in your ToiBocks unless it's in a zipper bag). If you get something 'on' the wood on the inside of the box I would try using a cotton swab, it will give you a more pin-point ability, reducing the chances of your wetting the velvet.
Also, if you're keeping your toys in those lovely drawstring bags, be especially careful not to get the drawstring in the groove in the back of the ToiBocks. It tightens the tray and makes it especially difficult to remove. If this does happen to you... call me and I'll tell you how to rectify it!
If you do have a 'huge' collection, you can keep your faves in the ToiBocks and the rest can be hidden safely in a less convenient location at least until I can get these other products through development I keep my 'once in awhile' toys in the closet...
Thank you everyone for the love. I can't tell you how good it feels to know that by solving my own personal problem I'm helping other people solve theirs.
Great review! Sad I missed the secret, haha, but I guess I just need to get my hands on one of these. I think putting jewelry in the top part is a great idea!
Sorry twistedheartsx that you missed the secret. Of course if you really wanna know, you can always ask me!
Nice review!
Thanks nickodemus!
I wondered why nobody was talking about how the lock works...
:p
good review
Yeah I didn't realize it was such a huge secret thrill, but I took off the information anyways! I guess if you have many friends who are into sex toys then it might be a worry for someone to break into your box, but I'm not sure. Haha. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks angel142stx!
ty for the review, it does look a little small for me
good review - thanks
