A Puddle of This Could be Dangerous

All in all, I’d say that the Wet Premium Bodyglide is worth the investment. While it costs more than water-based lubes, it also lasts longer and is much more slick and natural feeling. It is a shame it can wreck porous toys, though I would keep a bottle of water-based lubricant around just for that reason.

First off, I would like to say I absolutely love this lubricant. I am currently on my second bottle, and from the looks of it, the third will be coming soon.

In the past, I have just gotten the KY lubricants available at Wal-Mart and most drug stores. That pretty much changed when I started looking at sex aids and such online. I don’t think I will ever be able to go back to using water-based lubricant for anything other than oral sex.

Wet Premium Bodyglide is a silicone-based lubricant. It is much more slippery than water-based, and also lasts longer. This stuff doesn’t wash away if it is used in the shower or tub, either. Because it is silicone-based, it is potentially harmful to porous toys, such as realistic skin dildos. For those kind of toys, I would stick with water-based. Wet Premium will work with condoms, though.

When I use this lubricant, I generally only need to use maybe 4 or 5 drops at the most. This stuff is super slippery, and stays slick for a long time. I have found that some lubes get tacky after a while, which doesn’t happen with the Wet Premium. I can use it on my boyfriend and still have a slight slick feeling on my hand an hour or two later. I hate the feeling of sticky things on my hands, so some lubricants make me want to just run to the bathroom to wash it off. The Wet Platinum also doesn’t have any odor at all, which is great.

The bottle features a useful thumb grip area, so that it doesn’t slip out of your hands when you try to open it. Even with super slick hands, the bottle is pretty easy to open. The only downside to the bottle is that it is too tall to stand upright in my lube drawer. The bottle says to store it upright, but I have yet to get a leak from this one. A bottle with a pump top got knocked over and spilled everywhere, though.

The back of the bottle says that it may stain fabrics. I haven’t actually spilled any on my bed at all, which is probably a miracle. The bottle says to test a small patch of the fabric before using, which I guess makes sense. They kind of put it the same way that detergents put to test a small spot of fabric first, though.

As for cleaning it off of skin, it’s a little difficult. I usually have to wash my hands a couple of times to get this off of me. On the nights where we are both too exhausted after sex to even get up, and just go to sleep without bothering, it seems to have kind of absorbed into my skin a bit by the time I wake up. Then it is easier to clean off. I know it sounds lazy, but a lot of the time we end up doing it at 4 am after we have been awake since 9 or 10 the previous morning.

Experience
My boyfriend and I rarely use condoms, as I am on birth control pills and neither of us tested positive for any STDs. This lubricant feels really good when I put a few drops on him before we do it. I don't recommend going without condoms if you are unsure of a partner's status with STDs or if you do not have any alternative method of birth control, though.
Follow-up commentary
Lately, I have been making my boyfriend rub some of this into his hands before he starts rubbing my body. His hands are very rough and covered in calluses, which lotion and scrubs don't seem to do anything for. Thankfully this lube allows his hands to just glide over my skin, rather than rubbing it and irritating it. It even feels a lot better than when he had smoother hands.

Where did you get the notion that silicone lubricant was bad for lower quality toys? It is the opposite actually. It is bad for high quality silicone and can not be used with any toy made of that at all. Did you try this with toys? Did you try it anally? How did it feel? Taste? Smell? you talked about it lasting on your hands, but what about you genitals? What did it make sex feel like? I would include these in a review about lubricant.

Too bad it stays on your skin and is hard to get off afterwards.

I have not tried this anally at all, as I am not into that kind of stuff at all. It has no taste or smell to me at all, though I can't really test that too well right now, since I have been kind of congested for quite a few months. I can't really tell how this felt on my body. It felt slightly more slick than other lubes. Hands are the best for determining how something feels. I have information on how the lubricant makes sex feel in my experience section.
