Don't Let the Low Price Fool You... It's Actually Really Good!

A lot of the times, we think that a low priced product means low quality. That is not the case at all for the Lotion D'amour. We are extremely happy with how good it tastes that we will end up buying another when we finish this bottle. The only con for this product is the fact that it doesn't heat up like it says it does.

Pros:
taste, price, cute bottle, non-sticky/greasy, long lasting.
Cons:
does not heat up when blown on at all.

This was our first time using the Lotion D’amour product and to be completely honest, for the price of $5.00, I wasn’t expecting a whole lot. We just wanted to try it, and for 5 dollars we thought, "what the heck let’s buy it!"

We purchased the cherry flavour, but there is also a strawberry flavour as well.

The bottle did not come in any sort of packaging. The bottle is extremely cute. It is a clear plastic in the shape of a heart. When we purchased the product, we thought the bottle was red, but that is actually the colour of the lotion you can see through the clear bottle. Below are two photos of the product, both the back and the front of the bottle.

The lid to the bottle is a flip-top. The lotion will not leak if you store the product standing up, and ensure the lid is snapped tightly when you are done with it.

The lotion is 4oz. and is quite thin and runny. When applying, be very careful because the liquid can come out very quickly. The Lotion D’amour is great for massages because it is not sticky or greasy. There is a scent to the lotion, but it is not overpowering.

The taste is actually quite amazing. I did not expect it to be as good because I assumed that the low price would equate to an odd flavour. Surprisingly, this is the best cherry flavoured edible product that I have tried so far. It is quite sweet, but not too sweet where it upsets my sensitive stomach.

The product claims to heat up when blown on, but I don’t find it to heat up at all. This isn’t a big deal for us, but if you are buying this product for the sole purpose of it’s heating, don’t bother.

To clean up the areas of your body where you had applied the lotion to is quite simple: wash the area with water and soap.

For $5.00 for the 4oz. bottle, you are paying $1.25/oz. This is not a terrible price, but if you are looking for an even better price per ounce, I suggest the product “Hot Stuff” which is edible oil that is available in a cherry flavour as well. The Hot Stuff oil is only .66 cents per ounce.

The ingredients as stated on back of the bottle are as follows: Glycerin, Corn Syrup, Sorbitol, Propylene Glycol, Flavor, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Saccharin, May contain FD&C Red #33 or #40, FD&C Yellow #5 or #6, FD&C Blue #1 or #2, Titanium Dioxide.

This product should be used for external use only because of the ingredients.
Follow-up commentary
My partner and I still enjoy the Lotion D'amour, even though we have only used it once or twice since I had done this review. We do have a few other products we tend to reach for more often when in the mood for a flavoured product; but we still love having this product in our collection. The product has not leaked at all for us, but we store the product standing up and always ensure the lid is on tightly. We both would still recommend this product to those interested in trying it.

How does this leave the skin feeling after use? Does this get absorbed at all for any kind of softening/conditioning effect? I was little thrown off by the fact that you gave this full 5 stars when it doesn't deliver on one of its main claims, but glad you liked it all the same

@ txymxy, We've never had a edible product that contains glycerine condition our skin (though if there is one you can suggest, I would love to try it : ) ) As I had said in the review, it does not leave the skin feeling greasy or sticky like some edible products do. it absorbs into the skin, but not quickly, which makes it ideal for massaging. It is also a thin substance.

I gave it a 5 out of 5 because we loved it. All of the pros about the product outweigh the non-heating of the product. I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone, and will be buying it again, hence the reason for 5 out of 5. I feel the rating of a product is personal preference. Someone may hate a product, and give it 1 out of 5, while another will give it 6 out of 5 (if that were possible)... I'm not sure if that makes sense... Anyway, thanks very much for reading and commenting, I hope I answered your questions fully : )

Hmm. ordered it today but I am not sure anymore when you said that it has coloring. Does it stain?

LinToxic, we had not spilled it nor did it drip on anything so I am not sure... but I assume that it would wash out if you were to get it on the sheets, etc : )

LOL That's a great question. I'm very adverse to cough syrup

Unfortunately, no... the ones I've had are so bad, I gave up the hunt!
