Just Another LubeI honestly would not recommend this lube to any of my friends. I have four different brands of water based lubes in my toy box that outperform this lube, and most of them cost ten to fifteen dollars. I just don't think this lube is worth trying. It drys up quickly, you have to reapply constantly, and other than that, I found this lube to be just average. Just average is not acceptable for this price. I love other Pjur lubes, but Pjur Aqua was disappointing.
Slippery, No Smell, No Parabens, No Petro-chemicals
Price, Performance, Dries up, Disappears, Have to reapply often
This lube works well for vaginal and anal sex, but when used with sex toys, I find I have to constantly reapply it. My husband said it was terrible for hand-jobs and masturbation for him; it absorbed into his skin in under two minutes, and he had to constantly reapply. It didn't get sticky, but it didn't last long either. It contains glycerin but is paraben and petro-chemical free. It says that it is tasteless, but it has a bitter yet somewhat sweet taste to it; I would not recommended that you use this and then perform oral sex. Overall, I only recommend this lube for sex, because without your body's extra lubrication, this lube disappears very quickly. It doesn't perform as well as ID Glide, which is pathetic for the price. Pjur Aqua is completely outperformed by Maximus, and Maximus doesn't cost nearly as much.
This lube is slick, slippery, and smooth. The thickness is between that of Pink water based lube and Maximus. It isn't really too thick or too thin. The 8.5 oz version has a screw top which has already proved itself inconvenient numerous times. You can tip it over for a little bit of lube or you can squeeze the bottle to get a greater amount. The lube doesn't feel sticky to me, but it does dry up quickly.
Pjur Aqua claims not to have a taste, but it does have a weird bitter and sweet taste to it. Luckily this taste is not too strong, but it is enough to deter me from using this lube and then performing oral. It doesn't have any smell at all which I find to be nice.
This lube feels alright, and it seems to work well if reapplied constantly. If you buy it, you will need the big bottle, because you will use much more lube than you expect. It just disappears very quickly. It seems to wipe off easily, but a damp washcloth does help. I liked that this lube was slick, slippery and had no smell. I didn't like its lasting power or cost. I much prefer Maximus; in every way, Maximus outperforms Pjur Aqua.
Follow-up commentary 2 months after original review
I like this lube, but it's not any better than other lubes I have that are half the cost. I will probably use the bottle eventually, but I wont purchase this lube in the future. I haven't really been using this lube much, because I have noticed more and more that I just don't enjoy it as much as my other lubes. I know it's weird to put an enjoyment level on a lube, but it seriously applies here.
