A Delicate Flower

This might be my favorite piece of lingerie I've gotten from EF. The entire line is beautiful, but the allover lace of the babydoll feels feminine, flirty and timeless. The details are impossible to ignore, but this means careful hand washing is a must!

The first thing that I noticed about this babydoll were the details. You get an idea from photos, but it's a completely different thing when you hold it in your hands and can view it with your own eyes. This babydoll includes a variety of fabrics, patterns and adornments that really give it a sophisticated feel. It's something that seems to be true for every piece in the Raspberry Fields line, and I love it.

The very first detail that bowled me over was the little faux-pearl and rhinestone "brooch" in the center of the waist band. Tiny rhinestones are arranged in little flowers, and between each flower is a fake pearl. These are in an oval shape. The oval itself is empty, and the raspberry pink/red waistband is threaded through this, so you see it behind and on either side of the rhinestone.

This band is the thickest and most opaque fabric of the piece. It separates the white lace cups from the floral lace bottom of the babydoll, which flows freely. The band is a stretchy, spandex type material. It's sewn two layers thick and you can't see through it. It's a bit shiny; although, my flash made it seem even shinier. It runs around the entire babydoll, not just in front.

The thin straps are made of the same material. They're sewn to the top of the band in back and the tops of the triangular cups on front. The straps are one of the few problems with this babydoll. You cannot adjust them at all. They are about 15 inches, unstretched. I found them to be too loose on me, so I grabbed the tiny safety pin that had attached the ribbon and used it to pull the straps together. This tightens them up, but it offers little support.

The band measures a little under 17" wide, unstretched. According to the size chart, this should fit busts starting at 46", but I feel like that's actually around the maximum bust size as I'm a 38. This fits loosely on me, but it stretches to about 22.5" total. The band is also quite wide at about 2.5" at the seam. However, the scrunching around the brooch can make it look thinner.

The cups are simply made of stretchy white lace. This works well for my C breasts, but I feel like anyone with larger breasts would find the lack of support an issue. Furthermore, the waistband is incredibly comfortable but somewhat loose and not elastic, so it also offers no support. Adjustable straps would help this and also ensure that this babydoll works for more people.

I am comfortable wearing it, but it doesn't give my breasts that extra "oomph" that I'd like. Of course, these cups aren't shaped or lined, and this is to be expected. I imagine they'd fit someone with C or D cups best.

Although there is a vertical seam in each cup, I couldn't tell. The lace is soft and stretchy.

The majority of this piece if the free-flowing lace. It's a cream color that also has pink flowers printed on it. The lace itself has a floral design, but it's not the same as the print. It's the same lace you'll find in the matching panties, which you can purchase separately.

The bottom portion of the piece is about 17" long from the top of the band to the hem, which is done in contrasting raspberry stitches. It falls to about mid-thigh on me, and I'm only 5'2". This is definitely a babydoll that fits more like a top than a dress.

I do feel as though the top of the baybdoll flairs out a bit much. Because I'm really on the low end of plus size, it's large on me, but it does a decent job of hiding trouble areas, and this could make it fit a larger range of bodies.

With all the lace in this piece, you'll want to exclusively hand wash. Be careful to avoid snagging it on nails and sharp corners, too.

This piece does come with a thong. The trim and sides are done in the stretchy raspberry material, while the printed floral is on the front. The lace is sheer, and I gifted away the thong to a friend before I had a chance to measure it. However, it was much too big for me 40" hips.

Both pieces come in a plastic bag that I tossed away. Like the panties, there's two tags that come with -- one explains Coquette's fundraising this season, while the other shows photos of the pieces. All information about care is on the tag on the actual piece, which you may want to cut off to prevent it from showing through the lace.
Experience
If thi wasn't quite so sheer, I'd love to wear it as one. I've been considering whether I might be able to pair it with some cream top underneath to wear it out. It does seem more sheer in person than on the model in the photos. Instead, I've been wearing it to sleep. Even with the safety pin, it's so comfortable and feels great against my skin.
