Spellbound corset - corset discontinued by Coquette - review by XxFallenAngelxX

Introduction


The Spellbound corset from Coquette is simply amazing! It looks better than the photos and it fits better than any other corset I've owned. The corset arrived with 2 removable shoulder straps, 6 removable garters, One waist belt/restraints.
As you can see, it's not long on me. I'm 5'2".






No panties or hanger are included with the corset.


Please bear with me, and my photos below. I've added quite a few to show all the detail.

The corset is black in color. It's one piece that has the hook and eye closure system in the back. There is a double row of eyes for a perfect fit. There are 18 hooks and 2 rows of 18 eyes on the back. On the front of the corset, there are 3 leaf looking decorations. The decorations are silver in color. Each of the 3 leaf looking designs have 4 small rhinestones going down the stem area. These really shine when light hits them. These seem to be held on by a thin string. There is no support or underwires, in the breast area. The black corset is opaque. You can't see through it.





Around the waist, there are 12 boning pieces. They are very flexible. These are not metal boning. They are plastic.
On the middle of the corset, there is a black lace panel with parts of the lace that are very bright, and shiny silver. The lace panel travels around to the back of the corset. This part is not fully attached.
It's only attached at 4 seams, along the sides and back of the corset.









The top of the corset has a thin layer of sheer black ruffle with silver trim only at the edges. It's very feminine and pretty. On each side of the corset, there are two small loops which are there to hold the belt/restraints in place. These are very delicate, and look to be made of string. The thin loops are black. There are also 2 ribbon straps sewn on the insides of the corset. This helps with hanging up the corset on a hanger. There are 2 loops at the bottom of the corset in the back. These are for the garters. There are also one on each side in the front.







This corset is nice enough to wear on an anniversary night, or if you are just wanting to feel extra sexy. The belt/sash that comes with the corset is really a 2 in 1 item. The middle portion of the sash is only 1 piece. This is the part that goes across the front of the waist. When it reaches the sides of the corset, the one piece of fabric, has a few more pieces sewn on. The belt is now in 3 pieces on each side. One piece from each side can be tied at the back, just like a normal sash or belt. There are two straps left on each side. These two pieces on each side are used for wrist restraints. My partner tied each wrist with two pieces of the ribbon. My hands were tied up in two big bows and I had another bow tied at the middle of my back. It was very fun, and can be a great bondage teasing game for couples. I couldn't easily get out of the wrist restraints. I had to be careful not to rip the delicate loops of fabric on the sides of the corset, while I was playing around with the restraints. These are more for show, and not for rough play, as they can rip, if the play is too rough. You can wear the corset without the belt. It looks good, both ways. What's so very nice is you can add you own belt into the mix. Hot pink or red would be great, or any color that you like. You can pick up some inexpensive satin ribbon, and make any color sash.

Material

The material of the corset is 80% nylon, and 20% spandex. The product page also states that Lycra and satin are used.

Packaging

The corset arrived a in clear plastic bag that sealed on one end. There was no hanger included. The corset had two tags and a bag with the garters, pinned to the corset. The first tag showed the product on a model. It showed the back view on one side and the front view on the other side. The second tag has instructions on how to use the ribbons as restraints. The tag gives step by step instructions.











Travel

This corset set will travel well. The corset can roll up and fit into a small bag. It's very lightweight. The garters and the shoulder straps can be placed in a ziplock type baggie.
I always take the tag of the corset and place it in a baggie with straps and garters. This allows me to know which garters go to which piece, since I have so many in my drawer.



Care/Washing

To wash the corset, the tag says to handwash only and hang to dry. I would wash in a sink with cool water and then let it drip dry on a plastic hanger, on my shower rod. Do not use bleach as it could bleach out the black color. Be extra careful with the leaf designed details that are hanging from the corset. They aren't on very well. Dry these with a cloth that won't snag them.

I would also be extra careful with the ribbons. They are very delicate, and they wrinkle easily. Once I wash them in cold water, I would hang over a hanger and let them hang down, and air dry. The edges arrived with fray check on them, or the ends had been sealed by a flame. If you notice the ends fraying after washing or wear, you can simply run a lighter quickly along the edge of the ribbon, after trimming the frayed area, or you can use fray check.




Rating

I'm in love with this corset. This is by far the best one that I own, as of now. The black is bold, and it could work for a night on the town, or a sexy night in. You can use the included ribbons or use some to match a skirt or bottoms that you already own.

The corset would look great with some long gloves that were black or silver. You could also buy matching gloves to match another color of ribbon. Other types of belts can be used as well. A pretty necklace would also set it off.
I wore these sheer black stockings and they paired well with the set. I also wore basic platform type heels with the set. I can't brag enough about how this corset looks so nice.

There were a few loose threads on the inside of the corset, that needed to be snipped, that hadn't been trimmed. I trimmed them up quickly. All the seams were sewn well. No boning pieces were exposed.

I give this a corset 5 stars! I wish I could give it more.

Here is a side view that I took. I wanted to show how it will work as a bust minimizer. I have no bra on under the corset.
The corset doesn't dig into my skin, or poke me.

This is one piece that will be getting a lot of wear from me. The next time that we go to a nightclub, I'm going to wear it with a shrug and see if I get any compliments. It's so hot!
