Victorian Dream? Or Nightmare?

I was really excited about getting this chemise for our anniversary in February. I love the way it looks and I love the design, but I was a bit disappointed in the way it fit in the bust area. Also, it doesn't exactly hug curves in a flattering way...luckily I have until February to make it work.

I really like this chemise, it looks lovely, but I wish it fit better!

The colors are fantastic, as is the design. The blue cups are lightly padded and feature a corset-style design with a black, floral-pattern lace on either side. The black ribbons for the corset design are adjustable, though I'm not sure why you would need to. For those that are concerned about underwires, the underwire in this piece is almost impossible to feel, which makes it quite comfortable to wear. The same blue color is also featured in the trim along the bottom of the skirt, as well as in 3 cute little bows - one in the center of the bust, and one on each of the shoulder straps. The bra-strap type back has three sets of hook closures to adjust how tight you want it, and the shoulder straps are adjustable as well.

The fabric of this chemise is a soft nylon/spandex blend, which feels silky smooth and breathable for added comfort. The whole piece is made very well - usually I find at least one stray thread that I have to carefully cut off somewhere, but happily, this wasn't the case for this one!

My main problem with this piece is that the bust area just doesn't fit right. I cant really pinpoint the problem, it just doesn't give my bust line the lift/support I was expecting. I mean, I knew it wouldn't look the same way as the model in the picture, but after reading "lightly padded" and "underwire" in the description, I really was expecting more. I think perhaps if I could tighten the back a bit more, I could get it to fit better. Also, I am not exactly a twig, and I noticed that the material kind of grabs my curves in a bit of an unflattering way - luckily, I bought this lingerie for my anniversary in February, so I have some time to continue to lose a few pounds. However, this may be something to consider if you are looking to buy this piece.
