useful review
I did some research on the internet before purchasing this one. Seems like it's favored by sex bloggers so when I was in the market for a new toy, I decided on this one. When I first got it, I played around with the sensemotion settings for quite some time (where you wave it around or flick your wrist to get variations in the vibrations). Overall a great buy, would definitely recommend for adventurous couples looking to add some fun.

The massager is not seamless, the silver colored endcap is meant to be twisted off, which reveals a charging port for the toy. This is where you plug the charger in, and then plug it into a wall for the egg to charge for a few hours. The entire egg is smooth to the touch, with a seamless wireless button near the base. The toy is wireless, and uses a remote control to power the toy. The remote control is a round flat silicone sphere that features the LELO Insignia shape on one side, with the Insignia button in the center, along with a +/ on either side. The control buttons are seamless and easy to press. If you flip the remote control over, it has a silver colored ABS plastic cover, this is where you insert the batteries for the controller. The toy comes with a small black plastic remote key, the “key” can be pressed into the groove on top of the battery compartment and twisted to open the compartment. The remote requires 2 AAA batteries, once inserted, you can close the compartment using the black key again.

This toy comes with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty in case anything should happen to the toy. While the vibrator and the controller are mostly made of silicone, they do feature ABS plastic as well, and though it’s body-safe, it’s not ideal for boiling to sterilize and nor would I put it in the dishwasher. So you can clean this toy the old fashioned way with anti-bacterial soap and water, toy cleanser, or the a toy wipe of your choice. You can alternatively wipe it down with a 90% water to 10% alcohol wash. Dry the toy completely with a lint-free towel. This toy is waterproof, but to be on the safe side be sure not to get water into the battery compartment on the controller, or into the groove along the bottom of the vibrator where the charging port endcap meets the silicone shaft. This toy works best with water-based lubricant, so steer clear of silicone lubes when using Lyla. Lyla also comes with a sample packet of LELO’s name brand lubricant, and a user manual which you will indeed need to read to learn how to use the toy, as well as a black satin storage pouch, and a silver LELO Insignia brooch which comes with all LELO Insignia toys. It all comes neatly packaged in the signature LELO little black box (like the little black dress of sex toys).

Nice review hun. Next time you might want to try using the 'extended' review format.

I used the standard review format that required 300 words so that's why it looks like this.

Nice review If you check out the extended review format and don't like it, some people will still use the extended as a temple on their standard regular review.

  • Signal strength through clothing??
    • This seems to be another topic of concern and there are mixed reviews which don't instill much confidence with me. Can anyone who owns the Lyla comment on how it's remote activity would function through clothing barriers for a night out in public? Ie. sitting across from one another at a dinner table with the egg discreetly tucked inside one's underwear and leggings or through a shift dress? I've been considering ourchasing this as a toy to use with my girlfriend in public, as we both love LELO products and there are not many similar high-quality options on the market... but I am concerned about the compatibility between the remote and egg when used under clothing. People seem to have mixed feelings on the strength and range of the remote. Can anyone please offer feedback concerning this? Thanks!!
    • You can always try to message those who have reviewed this as well. They might be able to get to you faster that way, since forum threads tend to get buried.
    • Already one step ahead of you Sam (aka Julia)! Hi again! I have messaged you already! Would love to help you out with this question and any others you have about this toy. You can also check out my review.

  • Can anyone tell me if the remote vibe can be turned off?
    • I've been getting mixed information from various reviews that I find confusing. I am interested in the Lyla exclusively as a toy for discreet public use, but the vibrations of the wireless remote control would seem counterproductive to that purpose. In fact, it would seem quite inconvenient for a number of different reasons and I can't quite understand what purpose it serves at all and why LELO decided this would a useful function? Anyways, back to my question -- Can the remote be programed to NOT vibrate along with the egg?? Is there any sufficient way of turning this function off and just using the remote without it's vibrations? Thanks for any help you can offer!
    • I'm thinking that it isn't possible to stop the vibrations in the remote, but if you're genuinely curious you're free to send a message to any of the contributors who reviewed the product to find out. Not everyone visits the forum frequently and threads can be buried pretty quickly, so that's probably the best way to get your answer, save for emailing the manufacturer. You can find their information on the Eden Link page.

  • Sync question
    • Stev
Can you sync it before going out, and turn it on later in the evening for some exciting times out on the town?
    • After reading the review, it looks like you can.
    • Hi Stev, the egg stays on stand by for 1 hour after the remote is turned off. So yes, you can sync it before going out. As long as you reactivate the remote within an hour of turning it off, you are good to go:)

  • Average Battery Life in the remote vibes
    • Looking at the pictures, it seems that the insertable portion of the toy contains the battery, and the remote is the rechargeable part.

So my question is, is how long will the toy last with the batteries? For me, this has a lot to do with if I get the toy or not.
    • I think it has a lot to do with whether you take the batteries out after use. I'm not sure if it effects it much (since the Lyla is not always transmitting), but we've used it a couple times, and our batteries are still alive. I don't have an accurate estimation for you though.
    • Hi there, the remote contains the 2 AAA batteries, and the egg is actually the rechargeable part. So far the 2 AAA batteries in my remote has lasted me about 6 hours. The manual say it can go up to 10. I only have about 6 hours of use on it so far.

  • Insignia Lyla – Egg Noise level and Power?
    • Does anyone know the "Vroom" on this? I don't see a measurement. Also the noise level? Is it worth the price? I really love the rose color but its soooo expensive and I don't want to purchases it if its weak.

The Lelo Insignia SenseMotion toys are basically brand new. They've only been available for about a month so not too many people have them yet.

This is the first review I've seen of the whole series:

The few individual reviews of the Lyla I've found:

Hope that helps. Otherwise you're just gonna have to sit tight as other people try it or go ahead and take the plunge! Best of luck.
    • I have the related Tiani and it's pretty weak. I'm quite disappointed in terms of strength. It's not overly loud but I do think, if you want strength, you'll be upset if you spend that money.
