Ina 2, Why Couldn't It Be You?

Ina 2 is a great dual-action vibrator. It has so much going for it, it's crazy! It's rechargeable, waterproof, has so much variety in function, and is easy to use and care for. The vibrations are good and powerful and should suit just about anyone's needs. The issue - you have to have the right anatomy for this toy to work for you. It's worth looking into, and with the right anatomy, this could be the perfect toy to add to your collection!

Use

Ina 2 from Lelo is a dual-action vibrator designed to pleasure both the G-spot and the clitoris simultaneously. This vibrator is an improved version of Ina, offering all the same benefits of the first, and then some!

Designed best for pleasuring a woman's most sensitive areas, the Ina 2 provides strong internal and external stimulation. With the flexible clitoral arm and firm shaft, this toy should appeal to a wide range of people. Great for solo play, Ina 2 makes it easy to focus on the pleasure with minimal effort. Once inserted, the toy can be gently thrust or simply left in place for a hands-free experience.

While this toy is great for solo use, it's also a great toy to use with a partner. Jazz up mutual masturbation or place the controls fully in the hands of your partner. Though it's great for allowing your partner to decide which functions your toy should be on, use caution when thrusting since it could potentially cause discomfort.

Though this toy has no flared base, it is anal safe thanks to the clitoral arm. The clitoral arm prevents the toy from slipping too far inside; resulting in an embarrassing trip to the ER. Though you could use this toy anally, there are much better choices for that type of play.

The bedroom isn't the only place where this toy can be enjoyed. Thanks to the improved features, this toy is completely waterproof! There's no issue with taking this toy with you to enjoy in the tub or shower for a little extra 'you' time. Though there have been some concerns about whether or not this toy is truly waterproof, Lelo has helped explain the waterproofing in a way that makes it easy to understand and trust.

Material / Texture

Ina 2 is made out of silicone and plastic. The entire toy is made out of the plastic, but it has a smooth silicone layer over the insertable area of the shaft, the clitoral arm, the adaptor port protector, and the buttons.

The silicone rates a 10/10 on the Eden Material Safety Scale for being made from food-grade material, for being hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous, and phthalates free. Silicone is one of the best materials for a sex toy since it repels bacteria and dirt, can be sterilized, and holds up well over time.

The silicone on this toy has a matte finish, is very buttery smooth with a soft-touch coating, and only has a tiny amount of drag to it. The drag is hardly noticeable and doesn't attract dust and lint like many toys of this material. Since the silicone on this toy is only on the surface, the shaft is very rigid; it doesn't bend and has no give to it. The clitoral arm is also very firm and the only movement to that area is directly at the base where it connects to the shaft. It can move closer to the shaft and away from it. Though it has this movement, it's still fairly firm where it sits and may cause a fair amount of pressure to the clitoris.

The adaptor port protector is also a smoother silicone, but the buttons are not. They are shiny, not matte like the rest of the silicone, and have a lot of drag to them. This isn't anything of concern since it doesn't effect the way this toy preforms, and is actually a little helpful when trying to change functions.

The plastic is rated an 8/10 on the same safety scale for all of the same safety features; it's made from food-grade material, is hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous, and phthalates free. The plastic can't be sterilized in the same way that the silicone can be, which is why the rating is different.

The plastic on this toy is very shiny and is totally smooth. It creates a slight drag if your hands are damp, but slides easily over skin that is dry. This area isn't insertable. The exposed plastic is what makes up the bottom portion of the vibrator; it's where the functions are located and where you would grip onto it during use.

This toy is almost entirely without texture, but if you run your hands around the width of the shaft, you can feel a gradually raised line on either side. These lines flow with the shape of the shaft and while they can be felt with your hands, there's not detectable during use. These aren't seams; they are simply a part of the design.

There are a couple of seams on this toy, but they aren't on the insertable area. Around where the silicone meets the plastic is one spot, and along either side of the plastic base is another. While these are the only two seams, there are a couple of other areas that could potentially hold onto bodily fluid or lube. At the top of the plastic directly under the clitoral arm, the word 'Lelo' is imprinted, and on the silicone adaptor port protector there is an imprinted image of a plug. Just make sure that you also pay attention to these areas when cleaning.

The texture, or rather lack of texture to this toy is great for someone that prefers a smoother toy, or for a beginner who isn't sure how they feel about texture. The smooth feel of this toy helps you to focus on the feel of the vibrations, rather than trying to thrust it to create stimulation through texture.

When the box is first opened, a 'new' plastic scent might be detected. After washing and allowing the toy to be out in the air, the scent is eliminated.

Design / Shape / Size

Ina 2 comes in three vibrant colors; Orange, Purple, and the one I'm reviewing - Lime.

This toy, like most dual stimulating toys (or 'rabbits'), is designed to stimulate both externally and internally at the same time; hopefully reaching both the clitoris and G-spot. The shaft has a rounded point, a thicker bulbous area, and then thins before reaching the clitoral arm. The top has a curve to it and paired with the the bulged area, should connect with most women's G-spots. The firm feeling of the shaft is great for someone that needs strong, direct pressure to the G-spot in order to feel satisfied.

The clitoral arm has some flex to the base, but is constantly trying to go back to its original place. This can create an almost clasping sensation between the arm and shaft that might be uncomfortable to some users. If the arm had a little more flex to it, this problem would be eliminated, but might not give the right amount of pressure either.

The size is a little on the large side for beginners, especially since there's no give to the shaft, but an adventurous beginner with a little warm up shouldn't have a problem. The biggest concern with the size and shape of this toy is whether or not it will work with your anatomy. Where the clitoral arm rests outside of your body and where the shaft reaches inside will vary by person.

Traveling with this toy would be suitable, but it's not discreet and would be hard to pass of as something other than a sex toy. It would fit in a medium sized purse, backpack, briefcase, etc. It's not a small toy and will take up a fair amount of room, so having it as your go-to travel toy wouldn't be the best option.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Ina 2 is a powerful, rechargeable toy. When first taken out of the box, the vibe needs to be charged. The charging port is at the bottom of the plastic handle. Remove the silicone adaptor port protector and insert the end of the charger. When the toy is plugged in and is charging, all four of the buttons in the base flash. When the toy is finished charging, they are still illuminated, but no longer flash. The first charge will take at least a couple of hours, but the time will vary after that based on how low your battery was.

The four separate buttons on the base control turning the toy on, changing the intensity, changing the patterns, and turning the toy off. The (+) button is the one you need to press to power the toy on. When the toy is turned on, it bring you to the first pattern. Each press of the (+) button makes the power level increase. Across from the (+) button is the (-) button. If you find that your power level has gotten to high, you can press this button to lower the level of intensity; this is also the button that turns the toy off. Rather than just powering off, you'll feel the intensity level decrease as you hold the button down, until the toy turns off.

The other two buttons on the toy change the patterns; an up arrow and a down arrow. Unlike a lot of other toys, if you have just passed the pattern you're looking for, you simply can press the opposite button and go back rather than having to cycle through each one again. Though there are dual motors, they aren't connected; you can't turn on only the shaft and not the clitoral arm, for example. What the patterns are, is what you get.

The buttons are conveniently located and are easy to change during use, but not accidentally. The buttons are all flush with the rest of the base which makes bumping them far less likely. Each press of the button illuminates all four of them; making them also easy to see even if the rest of the room is dark.

The patterns are:

1) Steady, Even Vibrations - Clitoral Arm and Shaft
2) Steady Vibrations - Strong in Shaft, Light in Clitoral Arm
3) Steady Vibrations - Strong in Clitoral Arm, Light in Shaft
4) Pulsing Vibrations - Back and forth between the Clitoral Arm and Shaft
5) Pulsing, Even Vibrations - Both Clitoral Arm and Shaft
6) Roller Coaster - Starts in Clitoral Arm and 'rolls' from there into the Shaft and repeats
7) See-Saw Vibrations - Starts in Shaft, rolls into the Clitoral Arm, rolls back into the Shaft, etc.
8) Crazy Pattern - Back and forth between both areas, crazy unsteady pulsing; totally unable to describe!

The vibrations are located strongly in both the clitoral arm and shaft depending on what setting you're using. They can only lightly be felt through the base of the toy and don't cause your fingers to become numb or tingle. The vibrations range from 1 vroom to 4 vrooms; being stronger in the shaft than the clitoral arm. The arm doesn't feel higher than 3 vrooms, but the shaft can feel close to 5 vrooms at times. The vibrations are closer to the rumbly side, but feel slightly more buzzy in the arm of the toy. This might be due to the vibrations being lighter.

Even on the highest setting, the sound level is very modest. Depending on the setting, it may be heard from under the covers, but can't be heard through a closed door. This would be a suitable toy if you have a roommate or are living in a situation where your toys need to be sound discreet. When on the lower levels, this toy can't even be heard from under the covers.

Unlike the first Ina, Ina 2 is completely waterproof. There's no need to worry about any water leaking into the toy, whether you're fully submerging it, using it in the shower, or simply washing it. The upgrades of this toy takes the fear out of using your toy near water.

Care and Maintenance

Caring for your Ina 2 is very easy. When it's time to clean up, you can wash with antibacterial soap and warm water, or your favorite sex toy cleaner. If you plan on sharing or would like to sterilize the toy, you can also clean with a 10% bleach solution. Silicone toys can often be put into the dishwasher or boiled, but since this one has internal parts, that would only cause your toy damage.

Since the insertable portion of this toy is made from silicone, use only a water-based lubricant with this toy. Other lubes could potentially cause damage to the surface, harming the smooth surface of the toy.

Storing this toy is simple since Lelo has provided a black, satin pouch to house your toy. It's the perfect size for your Ina 2; with or without the charger. If you prefer, you could also keep the toy directly in the elegant box it came in. No matter how you store your toy, make sure to keep it away from toys of similar materials since they don't always get along well together.

Packaging

Ina 2 comes in a thin cardboard package that features a full color image of the toy on one side with a white background, and three sides that are the same color as the silicone portion of the toy. The box has a decent amount of information on it and is displayed in six different languages. It's tasteful looking, but not discreet. Between the image of the toy on the box, and the information stated about it, it would be obvious that this is a sex toy. If you're planning on gifting, make sure you do it in private. This box isn't necessary to keep and can easily be broken down and recycled.

When the box first arrives, the top and bottom are simply taped down. After removing the tape, you then slide out a long, black box. This thick cardboard box is very elegant looking, having only the word 'Lelo' on the cover and is in shiny black letters. The top comes off easily, and the toy is in full view. The toy is carefully nestled inside a piece of black foam that's made to snugly hold the toy in place. It has a velvety surface to it that attracts fuzzies and lint. At the base of the toy is a small area that's covered by a little flap. When the flap is lifted up it exposes the charger, satin pouch, the instructional booklet, authenticity card, and lube sample.

The information booklet is basic and isn't specific to this toy. I imagine it covers all of Lelo's rechargeable toys. The booklet is in 12 different languages, English is the first. It talks about getting started, the warranty, basic instructions on use, cleaning storage and safety, and disposal information.

The lubricant that with it is a sample of the Lelo Personal Moisturizer that's available here at EdenFantasys. It's a thin, water-based lubricant that is Glycerin and Paraben free. The ingredients are listed on the back of the sample. Always make sure to look through them before use, especially if you have allergies or sensitivities. An authenticity card also comes along with this toy. This gives you the information you need to register your toy and activate your 1 year warranty.

The pouch that comes with this toy is your basic draw-string pouch. It has a satiny feel to it and is black with a slight shimmer. It's sewn very well on the inside and seems much higher quality than a lot of the pouches that are included with toys. The strings pull easily and the pouch is able to fit the Ina 2, charger, and booklet without any of it feeling squished.

Experience

I haven't tried out many dual-action vibrators since I'm always concerned it won't work with my anatomy. When I first saw the Ina 2, I thought for sure it would be the one for me. I debated about getting it for a long time, and somehow it was placed in my hands. I thought for sure it was meant to be!

I charged the toy and turned it on to just see how powerful it was. Being a power queen, this was very important to me. It felt nice and strong in my hands and I was excited to use it. Later on, I was able to get some time to myself to try it out. I inserted the toy and instantly there was a problem. While the size and feel of the shaft was nice, the clitoral arm was awkward. I tried holding the arm up while inserting it and then placing the arm near my clitoris. That worked, sort of. The arm still didn't quite reach my clitoris and the vibrations were much lighter in the arm than what I needed. However, that wasn't my biggest issue. Though you're able to push the arm back a little bit, there was too much pressure behind it. I felt like the toy was pushing into my body too much for me to enjoy it.

The vibration patterns are very interesting, and I like that best about this toy. It wasn't your common patterns, they seemed to have switched it up to provide a very different sensation than what I'm used to. Since the toy didn't feel like it fit with my anatomy properly, sadly, I wasn't really able to enjoy the vibrations like I was hoping I would.
Follow-up commentary
Ina 2 has so much to offer, but I just couldn't get it to work with my anatomy. I was so disappointed since the quality was impressive, the power was amazing, and it was an all around great item. I can't blame my dislike for this toy on anything other than my own anatomy. Such a shame!
